“Fair enough.” Arthur leaned back, his eyes wandering up to the sky for a moment. “So, what’s the problem?”

"Asshole coworker who always asks me to cover his shift. Normally I wouldn't care since I don't mind having the hours and money but he comes up with the shittiest excuses and acts like I'm some moron." Ethan told the male, "Just bullshit, you know?"

I'm sorry cause I know there's some people who are wayyy over due for replies. If i get time i will get them done sooner but i barely even get time to pack because my child doesn't let me put him down and my s/o works 12+ hours so I'm basically stuck packing everything on my own 😭

Ethan looked over at the male and chuckled a little, “Yeah…uh, I think bad would be an understatement.” 

He looked the male over, trying to decide if the male was a threat or not. Definitely bigger than him and definitely seemed friendly but he never knew who could or couldn’t be trusted. 

Arthur retrieved the silver case from his coat pocket, clicking it open, he placed a cigarette butt between his lips. “Want one?” He asked the other male. “Sure won’t help with your problem, but it may help you to relax.”

{I know I take a while to do replies and I'm sorry, I have a 2 month old that I gotta give my attention to and on weekends I am getting packed up because I'm moving at the end of the month.

I'm still here and still trying to do replies but it might be like 1 or 2 day until the new year unless my kid naps for longer than 20min at a time. I'm sorry loves.

“I am.” Nikolai confirmed, already quite annoyed by the older mans presence. He had never been quite good at hiding his emotions. “He probably wishes he were dead. - But that’s no where near my problem.”

Ethan smirked, "Alright. Not your dad so not gonna push it." He shrugged then rose an eyebrow, "You did it to him, I'd say that does make it somewhat your problem."

Ethan stopped pacing when he heard someone’s voice. “I wish. Bad customers I can deal with. More like shitty coworker.” He said then chuckled. 

“Fucking idiot always has some excuse to why he can’t come into work. I wouldn’t care usually if he was just upfront about it because hell, extra money from picking up shifts and overtime but don’t give me some shitty half-assed excuse. Just be upfront about it. That or go get a different fucking job.” He vented then sighed a bit, “Just stressful, you know?”

Oh, Cal definitely knew. That was one thing about being old as fucking dirt - at least to normal humans - he’d dealt with more than a few bad coworkers in his time. “People are selfish, shitty beings. They want what they want, when they want it, and if they can use you, they will.”

“Yeah, I know that already.” He said with a sigh. “That doesn’t help with the situation at all though.” He told him. 

“Can’t beat his ass cause I don’t want to get fired. Honestly punishment doesn’t even bother me in comparison. It’d be worth kicking his ass but need the job.”

That’s all he ever got was bullshit excuses.  One of these days he wanted to give a bullshit excuse. But he couldn’t cause he needed the job. Hell he needed a raise. This person in particular pissed him off though because he wasn’t stupid. He knew that the person was lying and he wished that they’d be straight up with him instead of giving bullshit lies. He especially hated being treated like he was stupid. Instead of giving an answer he went outside to calm down cause he was ready to go off.

“Fucking moron, treating me like a fucking idiot.” He swore as he paced a couple steps before turning to pace back and forth. Trying to calm himself down.

Claudia pushed the rims of her sunglasses higher up on her nose, her gaze drifting around her. The street was littered with many different stores. From furniture, boutique, and the diner that she was lucky to get a job at so quickly. Though the other job being practically across the street from the other. But she wasn’t here to go to work instead she was here to shop. Even with just coming to town she had managed to get a rent on a nice little house and to make it actually feel like home she was in need of some items. Coffee clutched in her hand she raised it to her lips when the sudden outburst drew her attention. A brow arched, “Idiot coworker”?

Ethan jumped when he heard a voice of the female, “Shit, don’t scare people like that!” He yelled then paused and took a breath. 

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to snap at you. But yeah, an idiot coworker. How much of my venting did you hear?” He asked. Granted he doesn’t care who heard him, hell he hoped the asshole heard him but he wasn’t trying to lose his job either.

It was hard to believe that Arthur had decided to come here, but it wasn’t as if there were many places left to go. Specially considering how open the new world was becoming. It was all so dull. There were no secrets left, no hiding in the shadows. How he yearned for the times when he lived in the darkness before this all became so, mundane. Rolling a cigarette, he found comfort against cold brick that almost met his own body heat when he heard the rumble of another man’s voice. The anger in his voice enough to cause Arthur to intrude on his one on one conversation. “Bad day?” He pondered aloud.

Ramsey approached the back entrance to the bar slowly, she was hung over  and not particularly in the mood for any drama in her work environment. “Yo, Ethan. Fuck’s wrong with you?” The question was posed with little emotion, it wasn’t the first time she’d seen the older man riled up and she was sure it definitely wouldn’t be the last. 

“Did that prick ask you to cover his shift again? Just tell him to fuck off dude, I do and it works out just fine for me.” This coming from the girl who left for her break and showed back up an hour or so later.

Ethan didn’t get a chance to answer as the brunette answered the question herself. He simply nodded then let out a little laugh, “You’re also a girl and it’s a lot easier for him to say ‘okay’ then move on to bugging me about it.” He told her.

“That plus I could use the money. It isn’t even about asking to cover his shift it’s that he treats me like I’m a fucking idiot when doing so. He comes up with all these excuses that if I called him out on then I’d look like a prick but there’s no way that there’s that many issues in his family especially when he comes in looking like he was hungover or coming down from a high when he finally shows back up for work.” He vented.

“Sir, are you alright?” She asked, she was sitting on the steps with a sandwich in hand. It was her break, and she usually took it here on the steps of the building. Which usually wasn’t surrounded by many people, but when she came out she noticed the man pacing. “You’re going to pace a hole into the concrete if you keep it up.”

Ethan stopped when he heard a female's voice and looked at her. He chuckled a bit when he heard her comment about pacing a hole in the concrete. “I will be yeah. Just dealing with a shitty coworker.” He said with a shrug.

“I think I will have to pace for quite a long time to pace a hole into the concrete though.” He pointed out.

Cal only smoked when he was drunk - and it took a lot to get him drunk. The combination of his raging emotions and his long week at work had been enough to help get him there, though, and so there he was, outside of the bar with a cigarette between his teeth. “Bad customer?” Cal asked, raising an eyebrow. “I can go kick ‘em out if you want.”

Ethan watched the ginger as she walked into the water. He smirked a little while watching the girl’s teeth chatter. “You sure it’s not cold? Did you suddenly develop a stutter then?”

He crossed his arns, determined not to go into the water with her. “And if not going in means I’m scared then I’m the biggest chicken.”

“I said i-it’s not t-that cold,” she corrected, she hadn’t said it wasn’t cold, because it was pretty cold, but she was trying to play it tough. “It’s nothing I c-can’t handle,” she assured him, but when he confirmed he wasn’t going in, she smirked triumphantly, before hurrying back to shore. “G-guess that mean I win!”
