WHAT AM I DOING IN HERE, TENNISON? QUITE SIMPLE, REALLY. I OWN THIS DRAWER, LIKE I OWN THIS COMPANY, AND I WILL OCCUPY WHATEVER PORTION OF THE COMPANY I FEEL LIKE, WHENEVER I FEEL LIKE, AND UNLESS YOU CAN FIND ‘EXPLAINING MY ACTIONS TO SLACKJAWED, BUNGLING ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES’ SOMEWHERE ON MY C.V. I SUGGEST YOU SIT DOWN AT THAT DESK I GRACIOUSLY ALLOW YOU TO HAVE AND STOP WASTING MY TIME WITH YOUR BABBLE. IF I WANTED TO BE DISAPPOINTED BY YOUR SEMI-COHERENT RAMBLING I’D CALL A SALES MEETING.
NOW WHERE ARE THOSE REPORTS I ASKED FOR?
STOP LOOKING AROUND, YOU TIT. I’M SITTING ON THEM. HOW DID YOU GET THIS JOB? AM I YOUR FATHER? DO YOU HAVE BLACKMAIL PHOTOS OF ME? CAN YOU EVEN READ, TENNISON?
I’M GOING TO GO DOWN TO 14 AND SLEEP IN THE 11”X17” PAPER TRAY IN THE COPY ROOM. I’LL BE BACK AT 3 AND I EXPECT YOU’LL HAVE THE SECOND QUARTER PROJECTIONS COMPLETED AND FAXED OVER TO MARTY.

New Year's Eve celebrations around the world
In the past I spent NYE and a good half of New Year's day celebrating with my friends, but I made an exception to welcome 2011 with my family yesterday. It was a quiet affair, we ate dinner and watched The Karate Kid to pass time until it was midnight.
At 12am, we watched the fireworks display held at Sydney Harbour on TV together. The display was amazing as always, with each year showing off a fresh and rejuvinating start to the new year.

Even though everyone celebrates NYE differently I still find it amazing that on NYE people around the world will unite to celebrate for the same cause.
In Austria At midnight, television and radio stations broadcast the sound of the bells ringing from St. Stephen's Cathedral followed by The Blue Danube.

In England As The Big Ben just happens to be a clock, NYE in London is centred primarily around it, the clock tower also perfectly symbolises the theme of time and transition into a new year.

In France Feast on foie gras and champagne with family and friends, or at a ball. Watch the fireworks around The Eiffel Tower.

In the USA At 11:59 a crystal ball (Waterford rather than Swarovski) is lowered from 23m above Times Square, landing on the ground at exactly midnight - a 100 year tradition. During 1981 - 1988 an apple was used instead of a ball.

Akashi to Awaji Island on the Taco Ferry
Approaching Awaji Island
<Taco Ferry image from http://www.taco-ferry.com>
Taco Ferry's service will stop forever this coming Monday (November 15, 2010). The views are great and the ferry is probably the cheapest way to see Akashi Bridge aka world's longest suspension bridge from water. I highly recommend taking Taco Ferry to Awaji Island if just for once
Sungkyunkwan Scandal
Sungkyunkwan is the oldest university in modern Korea but back in the days it was a place for the children of aristocrats to prepare for a career in politics. The period rom-com Sungkyunkwan Scandal revolves around the campus life of 4 Sungkyunkwan students from the Joseon era.
The Jalgeum Quartet:
Lee Sun Joon is the son of the Left Minister I'm assuming that's the opposition leader. Born into a privileged and sheltered world he is uptight, had no friends until he entered Sungkyunkwan. There he meets Kim Yoon Shik, Moon Jae Shin and Gu Yong Ha, all 4 are later to become the Jalgeum Quartet of Sungkyunwan (a clever and more ancient sounding twist to the F4 from Boys Over Flowers). He is Mr. Brains of the J4.
Kim Yoon Hee is the daughter of a deceased Sungkyunkwan lecturer, deceased for reasons that the plot revolves around, so I won't spoil it for you ;P
Though born into an educated family, Kim Yoon Hee, her mother and younger brother Kim Yoon Shik live in poverty following their father's death. To pay for her brother's medical bills, Kim Yoon Hee works as a scribe at a local bookstore. She dresses up as a man to do all these things since women were banned from having formal education. One day she (reluctantly) accepts a job offer from the the owner of the bookstore to take an entrance exam at Sungkyunkwan in place of some someone else
Things don't work out as well as planned and through this and that, she encounters Lee Sun Joon and eventually enters Sungkyunkwan under her brother's name
Moon Jae Shin is a senior at Sungkyunkwan a mysterious, rough looking and rebellious looking character. He is the son of the Minister of Justice, filthy rich but he rebels against all that and dresses in ordinary civilian clothing most of the time.
The reason why Moon Jae Shin's acts the way he does due to a tragedy that occurred to his brother - part of the plot ;P ;P
I leave the best to last my personal favourite Gu Yong Ha
Always dressed to kill acts in a flambuoyant manner 24/7 very little background info is known about him.
Gu Yong Ha has a surprisingly deep friendship with the Moon Jae Shin. Gu Yong Ha never manages to miss a single event that unfolds in Sungkyunkwan. The question is: will he lend a hand when help is needed? Of course!! Because "I'm Gu Yong Ha *insert killer smile and wink*"
Dang, so adorable!!!
Church of the Light by Tadao Ando, Osaka
I finally got the chance to visit today the main chapel has black flooring black seating a black organ everything is black except for the walls.
The third photo was taken in the church's Sunday school next to the main chapel.
Church of the Light is located in a residential area the exterior is easily be mistaken as house. The main idea of the church is very mysterious - a concrete box building with no source of light, except for a cross carved into the wall
Save or Splurge?
Finding a shoe to wear to work for winter
Save GEOX 11000 yen
Why I should save: the shoes are good looking, comfortable and breathable the small air holes on the leather inner sole make the shoe breathable, it helps keep your feet dry. Shoes like these don't usually come with a price tag of 11000 yen in Japan, it's a steal.
Splurge Gucci 38000 yen
Why I should splurge: just take a look at the shoes, enough said.

Yumebutai is beautiful I didn't know it was designed by Tadao Ando until I stumbled across an Ando book at The Westin after taking this photo. It has some really interesting contours and shapes and is quite big
