I have to remember that Black Sails is supposed to take place about 20 years before Treasure Island so the series finale was a bit of a set up for that book. Here are a few things that popped in my head:
Billy Bones was not stranded on TI, Ben Gunn was. Also, Billy has to somehow make it to Savannah because he’s with Flint when he dies, that’s how Billy gets the map. I did get how Billy would be scared shitless of Silver though.
According to TI, Flint does die in Savannah, so he never leaves, maybe Thomas dies and Flint starts drinking? That would make sense.
Somehow Silver and Madi have to get to England, in TI, they own a tavern (I think) in Bristol and Silver is still doing his pirate thing, so Flint was right when he said Silver would get tired of domesticity.
First, I really loved the finale. It was what I wanted it to be. When Max told Silver where she would have sent HIM, I wondered, “I wonder if Thomas might be there.” Interesting that Silver sent his man there BEFORE the Spanish came.
Flint: I liked his ending; we know it’s not totally happy because according to TI, he dies in Savannah, of alcoholism. Maybe after Thomas dies? Silver was the only person who realized that Flint’s war wasn’t about freedom at all. He just wanted to fuck England over because of what happened to Thomas. I think Flint’s ending was real (some folks thought it was too dream-like) because if you noticed, when they returned to the island, one of the men on the boat was the man who’d gone to Savannah to find out about Thomas Hamilton.
Silver: Silver really did get to know Flint, in the previous episode, Flint realized that Silver never told him anything about himself, whereas Silver knew everything about Flint. Silver never cared about anybody until he met Madi. When he thought she was gone, he got Flint’s rage, he understood where Flint was coming from, that the war wasn’t about an ideal, it was because of an injustice done to a person.
Billy: To me, Billy became worse than Flint. All series long, Billy was like, “Flint’s insane, you’ve got to take him, Silver.” But in the end, Billy was killing his fellow crewmen and nearly killed Madi, his rage at Flint and Silver was that strong. Billy became what he hated the most about Flint.
Madi: I got why Madi was pissed at Silver, it kind of read like, “the man telling the little woman, just trust me baby.” But what Silver did was kind of like what Madi’s mother believed, that you had to find a safe place and hold the ones you love close to you, that’s what she was doing with Maroon Island in the first place. Silver got what she originally wanted, a safe place where the Maroons could live in peace.
That’s all I got now. I will miss this show terribly and I’m very happy that it was the show runners who decided to end it, instead of Starz.
Still looking to watch, since I can’t get Starz yet. I be unemployed.
I only need to watch the last 2 episodes. I know, such first world problems but I’d like to watch the last two episodes and not have to pay Starz for a whole month.

Flint took six men with him to bury the treasure and killed all of them, Ben Gunn, Silver and Billy Bones saw Flint take the treasure with six men but only Flint came back.
Billy Bones is so afraid of Silver, that he has a stroke and dies when he thinks Silver is near.
Silver is married to a “woman of color” he has a “Caribbean wife”, she’s never named in the book, but he trusts her enough to control his business interests when he is away.
Silver and his wife own a tavern in Bristol, England.
OMG SPOILERS BABY, don’t read if you have seen episode 8, or XXXVI.
Whoa. I just finished watching this episode and man, the betrayals were going back and forth so fast I was getting whiplash.
Flint and Silver: Their breakup was hard to watch, though I don’t think it was only because 1) Silver took the cache unbeknownst to Flint, to save Madi’s life and 2) Flint took the cache off the ship to bury it. The breakup wasn’t about Madi, it was about Flint/Silver. In the beginning of the episode, Silver asked Flint, what exactly would happen if they won the war? What if shit wound up worse? To me, Silver made a good point. Flint didn’t see it that way, because all Flint wants to do is destroy England because they fucked him up royally. Flint has no idea how to govern, he simply told Silver, “well that’s yours and Madi’s job.” Hands showed Silver that Flint only cares about Flint and no one else. Ironically, Silver began this series only caring about himself, but he’s changed, he cares for Madi, he does care for his men; Silver has changed but Flint is still Flint.
Max and Anne: I loved their conversation outside. I really thought Max would take Madame Guthrie’s offer, but, like Silver, Max is interested in something else other than power. She saw the mistake Eleanor made, remember when Eleanor asked Max, “where would we have gone?” which went back to the very first episode, when Max asked Eleanor to leave Nassau with her. Eleanor was starting to wonder if maybe that would have been the better choice. Max looked at Anne and thought, “I’d rather be with YOU than have all this bullshit power.” This also harkens back to Silver’s question to Madi, “am I enough for you?” I don’t think Silver wants a war, I don’t think he wants to be a pirate king. I think all he wants right now is Madi and a life with her.
Black Sails spoilers for episode XXXIV or #6 or whatever. SPOILERS GUYS
I’ve been hearing “Eleanor Guthre deserved better.” But in my mind, she died a badass; I mean sure she was killed, but she killed that fucker. He slashed her, punched her but she still burned his sorry behind alive. So there.
One thing I’ve noticed about this season, the show runners are NOT babying us, the audience. We’ve already had two extremely brutal fight scenes involving women against men. The fight scene between Eleanor and the Spanish soldier was fucking brutal, but no more or less brutal than Anne Bonny vs the British asshole soldiers.
I remember when we found out Eleanor was pregnant, there were some who said, “no way will they kill a pregnant woman.” But this show has shown that it spares no one. Some people won’t like this season, but as a wise woman said to Madi, “when you fight against the world, the world fights back.” Oh, and I don’t think Madi is dead at all. One thing this show has consistently done is if a character is dead, we, the audience see them dead and Madi has been a pretty important character so far. So I really don’t think she’s dead because if she is, why fucking introduce her to the folks like me who’ve read Treasure Island.
I think this season is awesome for a final season. I think there will be those who are pissed because their favorite characters will get killed this season.
One more thing, I don’t think Eleanor died because of her husband’s actions. To me, she died because of the dumb shit she started. Remember her talk with Max? Max told her from the beginning not to do what she was doing and she didn’t listen to her. I think Eleanor’s dead because she didn’t listen to Max, case closed. To me, Max is the smartest cookie around. I only hope she survives the season.
I want to watch Black Sails, BUT I got laid off from my job and I don’t have another one yet, so I can’t afford to have Starz for three months. Please help me. Thank you.
BUT, at least I have SyFy so I can watch The Expanse tomorrow. YAY.
So I don’t get this debate that “Biracial isn’t black.” Read history folks. This man Homer Plessy was 1/8 black, which meant he was 7/8 white. And HE was arrested for riding in a white railroad car.
That’s why I don’t get why so many black people are like, “biracials aren’t black.” If they make you ride in the back of the bus, you’re black, period, end of story.

I’m glad Ralph Angel and Darla are getting close. Too bad for the teacher. I’m a bit tired of seeing black men paired with everybody BUT a black woman.
I’m not too happy with my country right now. But I’m not in this “let’s move to Canada stuff.” For one, if Trump even touches Social Security, his head will roll, especially since most of the folks who voted for him are probably AARP members (like me!).
The thing is though, if Trump really fucks up, the rest of the world will be screwed and do you really want to be an American living in a foreign country while its citizens hate Ameriacns?
..is making me feel that America is full of too many racist, sexist, ignorant, unattractive people.
I don’t hate America....at least not now, but I fear that I’m going that way, to the point that I can no longer see what’s good about America, and that scares me.

When I see all the support Trump is getting, it makes me hate this country. It makes me wonder about its people, and what they really think of me. It’s like nobody cares that he might have raped a 13 year old or that he abuses women who work for him, lets pay attention to Clinton’s emails.
Stick a fork in the US, we’re done.
