“That I can definitely help with. It sounds like we have ourselves a plan.”

Ryder laughed. “I think I can do that.” He said with a nod. “But you gotta help me get drunk while I’m there.”
“That I can definitely help with. It sounds like we have ourselves a plan.”

“Oh,” he hesitated, not too sure whether it was worth even talking about. Not wanting to make it a big deal, he decided to answer he implied question. “Yeah, uh- I wouldn’t really say expert but I used to be a mechanic. I don’t- I obviously don’t have a job here, but I’ve always been one.” Tony took a sip of his coffee, eyes moving from the wall across from them to the window Eva had originally been sitting in. “Before that I was military. Or almost, I ended up enlisting but being let out of my contract due to unfortunate circumstances.” He finally looked back over to the girl, pressing his lips into an uncomfortable line as he inhaled, turning while he exhaled to look at nothing again. “I wish I could draw,” he raised his brows. “I didn’t have time to work on things like that growing up, so I wonder what things I could naturally be talented in. Are you good?”
“A mechanic, I swear there is another one here too. I can’t remember who it is though.” Eva squinted her eyes as she tried to remember who it was, her memory was so bad these days, something she chalked up to the accident. “Oh! I think it was Aleja. I ran into him this morning and he was on his way to work. Maybe you could do that, if you wanted?” Eva listened closely and she had not expected that he was in the military but it made sense. “I started drawing when I was young. I suppose I’m good, my mother used to tell me I was but perhaps she had to say those things.”
ryder-smith:
“Yeah, shit gets pretty crazy.” Ryder laughed. “I’m sure there’ll be another event soon.” He shrugged.
“I’ve seen that but I’m looking forward to the next one. You’ll have to stick around longer so I can see how crazy you can get.”
algnvasquez:
“I enjoy parties.. I just don’t do well in a crowd setting for long periods of time unless I’m extremely intoxicated.. that doesn’t happen often because it’s just not worth it, honestly.” He chuckled a little, lifting the mug to his lips and taking a long sip. “I read a lot, which I guess explains why I know a little bit about a lot of things, but am an expert of only like.. One thing.” With a shrug, Tony finally turned to the girl by his side and made eye contact. Her skin was pale and her hair matched, her words and face seemed very gentle. He didn’t know what to make of it. Green eyes darted over the features of her face before falling to her neck and shoulders, then back up to her hair as he inhaled. “What do you enjoy?” He questioned, turning and looking back again as he took another sip.
“I see. That makes sense. I don’t love crowds all that much myself but that’s probably why I was so drunk, so I didn’t mind.” She took another drink as she listened to him. Reading was a solid hobby to have, she thought it might be a good idea to get into that while she was here. “An expert?” Eva raised her eyebrow, of course her curiosity was peaked by that. “And what would that one thing be, if you don’t mind my asking?” Eva returned to her preferred spot on top of the counter, dangling her legs against the cabinet. She could feel his eyes over her and she didn’t mind, it wasn’t like she hadn’t done the same thing. “Me? I paint and draw, not as much as I used to, I’m trying to get back into it.”
its-alejandromartinez:
Aleja chuckled and pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and wrote his phone number down and his room number down. “That’s my cell phone number and the room that I’m staying in. Shoot me a text and I’ll let you know when I’m back from work.”
Eva watched him write down his number, both cell and room, and gladly took the paper when he offered it. “Thanks. I definitely will. Have a good time at work.”
ryder-smith:
“Should have been at the last party.” Ryder laughed. “Kennedy, Vic and Kylie went skinny dipping. Rowan gave me her panties and Aleja stole a cow.”
“Skinny dipping? For real?” She laughed again, scrunching her nose as she closed her eyes. She couldn’t help but picture everything he was saying, besides those people she hadn’t met yet. “That sounds insane. I’m kind of sorry I missed it.”
its-alejandromartinez:
“Kennedy is like 5′5″ and really spunky. She’s pretty too.” Aleja said. “Ryder is defienetly someone I’d recommend handing out with. Theo is really fucking great.” Aleja smiled when he got to Theo. “When I get home from work, if it’s not too late, I can introduce you two.”
“She is definitely pretty.” Eva nodded, she had noticed that pretty much straight away with most of the people staying in Safe Haven. “Is he? Oh if you could do that, that would be amazing. I need all the help I can get meeting people.”
ryder-smith:
Ryder laughed. “I mean I don’t have much of an opinion on Rowan but Kylie is pretty chill.” He nodded. “Nothing wrong with blaming the drinks, everyone gets like that from time to time.” He smiled at her.
“She seemed pretty cool. I think I’d like to get to know her more, you know?” Eva thought of the night fondly, she really had enjoyed herself. “Agreed. I’m glad nothing too crazy happened. Nothing to regret.”
its-alejandromartinez:
“Uh, Kennedy is pretty cool. So are Theo and Ryder.” Aleja said. “You can always start with them.” He suggested with a smile
“I think I’ve met Kennedy and definitely Ryder, but not sure if I’ve met Theo yet. I’ll have to remember his name.” She nodded, making a mental note of the three he mentioned. At least she knew they were good people to know.
ryder-smith:
“Probably Rowan.” Ryder chuckled. “Yeah, it doesn’t help that pretty much everyone has dark hair around here.”
“I think that’s it. I knew we would get there eventually.” She grinned, nodding as the name seemed to fit her memory. “Or maybe it was Kylie? Oh god, I’m normally so much better with names. I’m blaming the drinks. At least I know I stand out around here.”
its-alejandromartinez:
“Uh, you could always try and make friends with other people around the house?” Aleja offered. “Like, the ones who weren’t at the party or who left.”
“That’s a good thought. I am trying but it seems like everyone is on the move all the time.” She knew that sounded like an excuse but it had been difficult to meet everyone since she arrived. “I’ll make that my next mission.”
ryder-smith:
Ryder nodded as he listened and chuckled. “Well do you know what she looked like?” He asked. “Did she have dark hair?” He raised an eyebrow.
Eva took a moment to remember what the girl looked like and dark hair did seem right. Her memory was a little fuzzy. “I think she did. Pretty dark hair. Although I think a lot of people around here have dark hair.” She laughed again, this was getting worse. “It was pretty long, if that helps.”
its-alejandromartinez:
“It is nice, it’s the main reason I got a job.” Aleja admitted and then chuckled. “Yeah, you might wanna get that work visa first.”
“Just a small detail.” She laughed along with him before taking on a more faux serious approach. “I’ll have to find something else to do with myself while I work on that. Any suggestions?”
ryder-smith:
Ryder chuckled. “Yeah, I’ve already made a fool of myself recently, but not in a good way, needed a break from it.” He admitted with a sheepish shrug. “Who all did you meet?” He asked. He hadn’t really been paying attention to anyone that was there but he had remembered seeing a few people, just couldn’t remember who.
“Not in a good way? Well that’s not intriguing at all.” Eva smiled herself, imagining what that could possibly mean, but she knew better than to ask if he didn’t already go into more detail. “Well I knew Emi already and Ben but I met...oh god, I don’t remember her name.” Eva laughed, covering her mouth. She shook her head in embarrassment. “This is embarrassing. I swear I knew her name.”

Tony’s hand moved about the counter, he pressed his fingers together like he was tapping the ends, just to make sure the feeling was still in them, even though it just felt like static. For some reason, his circulation was worse than usual, but there wasn’t much he could do about it. It wasn’t like he could go to the doctors. “Black,” he repeated, licking his lips and blinking at the mug that already had coffee in it that he didn’t remember pouring. He pushed it towards her, giving her the container of sugar with a small spoon as well. “You said black, you didn’t say unsweetened.” He watched her take a sip for a moment with a nod before moving onto his own cup, which he no longer felt the need to sweeten anymore either. “It’s not that I want you to go,” he began, turning around to lean against the counter again with his cup. “I just have a hard time being… Approachable, or friendly. I apologise.”
Eva paused, she had really been about to leave but it seemed like it was safe for her to hang around a little bit longer at least. She wasn’t surprised when he admitted he wasn’t the most approachable - her sister had been like that too. She knew if she was trying to be more like her, she’d have to work harder at hiding her more outgoing personality. “It’s okay, you don’t have to apologize. At least I know it’s not a personal thing, right?” Eva mirrored his movement and leaned back against the counter, taking another sip of her coffee before reaching out for the sugar. He did have a point, taking it black didn’t necessarily mean unsweetened. She added the smallest amount and it did wonders. “So, you don’t really enjoy parties, which makes sense...is there something you do enjoy?”
algnvasquez:
Tony’s eyes squinted at the wall across from him, listening to her. He didn’t know what was in town, or why he would want to go to a party, besides to just stop by and do what was socially expected of him. “If you really consider meeting me to be something of an event,” he stated, almost mocking what she had said. He didn’t mean to sound like that but, maybe it was his accent, it just made him sound like he’s going to roll his eyes with every sentence. When she asked about whether he was fighty or flighty, he stood up straighter and uncrossed his arms. luckily, the coffee pot made the finished noise before it seemed too awkward, so he turned around and began to make two cups. “Do you like sugar and cream?” He asked, avoiding her question and the following suggestions she had given. The man didn’t want any help, things were getting better for him and it had only been a few days.. He just needed to take more baby steps.
“Should I not?” Eva wasn’t sure what he was expecting her to say anymore, it seemed like whatever she did say wasn’t the right thing. There was something about him that screamed that he wanted her to leave but then again, perhaps she was reading him completely wrong. The coffee went off as soon as he stood up straight, maybe in response to her question about him being the fighting type but he didn’t answer, instead choosing to focus back on the task at hand. Her questions remained unanswered as he asked his own. “Black, please.” Eva used to take her coffee with all of the above but after the accident she had to change her ways. Her sister had been known to take her coffee black. “Thank you,” she said, taking the cup and sipping on it once it was full. “I uh, I can go. I don’t want to overstay my welcome if you want to be alone. Thanks again for the coffee. It was nice meeting you.”
its-alejandromartinez:
“I just like not being here all day.” Aleja admitted with a laugh. “I mean I get a few days off every week so it’s not like I’m at work 24/7.”
“That’s fair. It must be nice to get out once in awhile. I might have to find some kind of job myself to keep myself occupied.” She tilted her head to the side as she thought about it but then realized, “actually I don’t know if I’d be able to since I’m from Norway and don’t have a work visa. I might have to work on that.”
