lou-sloane:
“I know,” she beamed, glad to finally get some sort of positive reaction from her brother. He’d been so… unreadable at the last two houses; it was mildly infuriating. House hunting was huge - especially for Evan - and all she wanted was to share in the joy of this step in his life. Her siblings were moving forward, and Lou was trying her hardest to take only the greatest amount of pride in that fact. They both deserved the best, and if Lou could do only one thing right, it would be making sure they got it. “I have a good feeling about this one…”
To be honest, Evan’s plan had just been to walk through the houses; the process would be a long one and he was just starting it. There didn’t seem to be much of a point in getting too excited about any of the houses he saw now. But given Lou’s response, perhaps it would be a wise option to attempt a little more enthusiasm. She didn’t have to come along, and he did appreciate it. “Do you now? I should probably trust that, shouldn’t I? This is more your area than mine.” Glancing at the exterior again, he nodded to himself then gestured toward the door. “Lead on, Macduff. Let’s see if the inside lives up to the pamphlet.”
