I’ve always loathed how poorly StarClan treated Leafpool and Squirrelflight, especially when they put them on that absurd trial in Squirrelflight’s hope! Leafpool founded the moonpool and had the three, yet they acted as if there was a possibility she was worthy enough to go to the dark forest!? Well, what if they did in fact send her there.. This pmv explores that grim narrative.
We begin with Leafpool and Squirrelflight facing the clans’ ire after Hollyleaf reveals the secret at the gathering. Leafpool looks up at the full moon, feeling as though StarClan has left her to fend for herself. (They didn’t send clouds to cover the moon to try and stop holly)
Flashbacks to young Leaf with her parents, Cinderpelt, and then her visiting Spottedleaf at the moonpool to ask if running off with Crowfeather is the right choice. Spottedleaf seems to approve so Leafpool goes off galavanting. Of course we know how that all ends… After Leafpool dies in the rockslide, she and her sister wake up in StarClan only to be met with angry ghost cats. Bluestar and Yellowfang look at the sisters pityingly though the angriest among them is Moth Flight, furious that Leafpool broke the medicine cat code she created.
All the resentment Leafpool has harbored finally bubbles over and she snaps. She vents her frustrations and defends herself which only ends in Moth Flight banishing her down to the Dark Forest below… (I know that’s not how the actual territories are laid out but eh is cool looking LOL)
Now in cat hell, leafpool finds companionship with other cats StarClan unfairly cast away: Frecklewish, Lilywhisker, Brightflower, and Juniperclaw. Lily n Bright were non-canonical su susann ideas i decided to include, look em up! Frecklewish is the one who speaks to her though, trying to reassure the former medic though Leafpool feels pretty beaten down.
Cut to the broken code era! Ashfur the StarClan cat has caused mischief in the clans! I guess StarClan isn’t so wise after all.. He corners Squilf and a random StarClan cat in the DF, about to pounce ‘till WHAM!! Leafpool comes in with the left hook! Ashfur is defeated and the two sisters reunite. The random StarClan cat offer to let Leafpool check out heaven (maybe even get a retrial and get in for real this time) as a reward for helping. Leafpool denies this offer, unimpressed and untrusting of StarClan after they turned their backs on her. She resigns to a life in hell with her new buddies and a new outlook on ghost life.
Is this all very ooc? Definitely, but it is very fun premise to play around with, I hope you guys enjoyed!
