“No, it’s not bad but not what I ordered and I couldn’t put my finger on it.” She shrugged. “I won’t go back with it, let’s put it that way.”

Eva had no idea what had gone wrong with this suit she was building. She was better at hacking than she was at designing but she wanted to do this. It was a new skill set and something to keep her busy but she found herself struggling on this particular suit. The brunette looked around until she saw a blonde. “Hey, sorry. Do you think you could help me out? I’ve been staring at this suit for an hour and I have no idea where it went wrong.”

“Don’t you think there’s a little much going on?” She questioned. “It’s not bad, just a little much.”

“Sure I can! I’m all for trying new things,” April said with a smile as she took the cup and sipped at it, “Well, I can taste the kiwi but I’m not getting passion fruit. It’s actually more like fig actually. Sometimes they can look similar are you sure you didn’t mix them up?”

Eva paused and brought the drink back to her lips and tried to taste it. “It could be fig... It doesn’t taste bad - just not right.”

“You know I was just about to take a sip and that would have been a totally bad idea on my part-” Marie commented, pushing the cup back to the other, “Really allergic to kiwi, so me testing it out could end very badly and I don’t think you want to spend your afternoon taking me to A&E.”

“Oh God, sorry.” She moved the cup away from her. “I’m glad I mentioned it now.”

Kyle looked at the smoothie, he knew he shouldn’t share drinks with his immune system, especially with flu season going around. “I would, but, I have this thing with sharing drinks, I kind of think it’s gross. My sister’s coming soon, if you want to stick around I’m sure she’ll give it a taste, but I bet you’ll have a better chance at asking someone else.”

“Oh yeah, of course. Thanks for the thought though...” It was more out of her own sheer awkwardness that she shifted between two feet.

Quinn took another small sip, taking a moment to really taste it, and figure out what was in it. “Kiwi, and raspberries, definitely. I think maybe some starfruit, and dragonfruit undertones. But I definitely can’t taste the passionfruit. Who the heck made this smoothie? Passionfruit and dragonfruit are very different.”

“I have literally no idea what kind of cluster fuck this smoothie is.” She shook her head. “Maybe they didn’t have any passion fruit and just threw in whatever they could find?”

“It’s no bother!” Mars assured the other with a smile, taking it from the other and putting the straw to her lips, “That’s… interesting. Definitely not quite passion fruit, I’d say more grapefruit? It’s awfully sour. Not bad though.”

Eva watched her drink and waited for her reaction. “Grapefruit? Grapefruit!” She realised. “You’re absolutely right. Kiwi and Grapefruit.”

“Touché,” he chuckled with a brief shake of his head. “So what did you say was wrong with your smoothie again?” Dallas asked, nodding towards the beverage in her hand curiously.

“It’s meant to be passion fruit and kiwi and I can’t taste any passion fruit so I can’t work out what that mystery flavour is.”

Quinn smiled wide, “not bothering me at all! Happy to help!” He took the cup and smelled the concoction, humming softly. “It smells delicious, and honestly, I’m a sucker for anything with tropical fruit in it.” He took a long sup from it, “this is delicious!!!” 

“No it’s nice but I don’t think it’s what I ordered. Can you taste any passion fruit in there? I can taste the kiwi but maybe it’s raspberries or dragon fruit maybe?”

“That’s a bit of a weird request, don’t you think?” Dallas replied to her question with a question, raising a suspicious brow at the other. “For all I know you could be tryin’ to poison me.”

She hadn’t thought about it like that. “You’re right, I was trying to poison you, I’m sorry.” She joked and took a sip of the drink to prove it wasn’t poisoned. “I just wanted to know if you taste pineapple in my chloroform.”

“Oh hey, er, sorry to bother you. Could you just taste this smoothie? It’s meant to a passion fruit and kiwi smoothie but I’m not sure it is now...” She held the cup tilted towards the other. She was completely new to the whole place and didn’t know anyone. Just the way she preferred it but humans are social creatures that still require some human contact.

Eva Pryce - or as her birth certificate shows, Liliya Ruskov - was born in Bulgaria on New Year’s Eve. Her family moved to America (New York) when she was just three years old when she began to show signs of being a fast developer. She just always seemed more advanced for kids of her age throughout her early years and went to an elite private school to enhance these skills. She was known as a gifted child but her main skill had always been technology. She loved to know how things worked and when she was finally able to use computers, she found her niche. At the age of 12, she was hacking in to big corporations and learning from their files for the sheer curiosity of knowing how things work. This was when she started to have eyes set on her by villains in New York. They had learnt of her skills and approached her parents. They offered to pay for her studies that were becoming a huge burden on her parents who only wanted the best for her. Eva began hacking larger companies and even the government and NASA for them and originally, she thought it was wrong but she never knew just how wrong.

She finally learnt to stand up to them when she was twenty and when she did, they killed her boyfriend at the time. She came home to his blood and brain matter on the walls and floor. She took all her technology from the apartment and ran to Washington to see the government. She was persuasive when she wanted to be and when confessing of her crimes and selling out the men she worked for, she got a plea deal. They would put her under witness protection if she hacked villains for them whenever they asked. Although she didn’t like being under someone’s control AGAIN, she took the deal.

The US government put her in to in to Grove Academy with a new name of Eva Pryce instead of Liliya to mask her from those who wished her harm. They have an informant in Grove Academy who makes them aware of Eva’s actions at the risk of her switching sides again. She is aware of this and doesn’t know who the informant is. She has become closed off since these events because she doesn’t want anyone to get hurt by being around her, not anymore. She is happy with small connections and occasional chatter but she wouldn’t call anyone a friend... at least, that’s the plan...
