I grew up with the overwhelming thought that I wouldn’t live past my 18th birthday. I’ve surpassed that by nearly 6 years and now feel like I have no idea who I’m meant to be or become.

Here I am, nearly married, jobless, and no clue how to live this life I didn’t sign up for.

Every day I feel like I’m 17 again waiting for the day that I’ll finally do it. “Maybe tomorrow,” I keep telling myself. Just not today.

Job hunting is so depressing these days

A Burger King application asked me how I felt about staying more than 1 hour after my shift ended to do the job right without extra pay and the choices were

1. I would not be willing to stay late

2. Only in emergency situations

3. WHATEVER IT TAKES (in all caps)

I applied at red lobster and it asked me to input my “expected starting wage” and the “example” given was lower than minimum wage

basically I feel like these questionnaires are trying to figure out how little you value yourself as a person
