Rhaenys and Corlys dancing in the kitchen to the Lovely day by Bill Withers... I blame Eve.
When I woke up in the mornin', love

Big grey T-shirt that used to be his, but it's now Rhaenys' favourite sleeping attire swirls around her body as she spins, and her hair, those loose threads of silver sunrays dance in the air, coming to tickle his shoulders. He's sleepy, his eyes still puffy from sleep but a broad smile is adorning his face as he follows her in duet, hoarse voice carrying the words well known to both of them.
If she's trying not to laugh at his exceptional dance moves she's failing miserably, as the air scratches her vocal cords and round, uncensored giggles spill from her in waves. For a moment Corlys thinks she'll wake the kids, but says nothing to stop the magic that is his wife laughing wholeheartedly, her nose wrinkling and crow feet appearing at the corner of her eyes. Instead, before she can pinch her nose as if to prevent herself from snorting – a trait of hers he's come to adore over the years they've spent together – he's pulling her closer. She all but accepts the invitation, her hands resting on his back and cheek pressing against his chest – against his heart.
He kisses her head and takes a moment to inhale the soothing lavender scent of her shampoo and calm his heart, but when she kisses his bare chest and looks right into his eyes with a familiar glint, warm and impish, it's all for nothing as it violently skips a beat. In a moment she's rising up on her toes and claiming his lips, and all he can do is kiss back and moan at the taste of her.
The air smells of rain pouring outside, peppermint tea, and Rhaenys; the music is playing in the background, soft words echoing – lovely day, lovely day, lovely day…
Vaguely, through the web of feelings and thoughts all centred around the woman content in his arms, her hands at the nape of his neck and her tongue inside his mouth, he becomes aware of the omelette slowly but surely burning on the stove. It's going to be inedible if she doesn't stop kissing him and untangle herself from his embrace, because Corlys doesn't have what it takes to let go of her, even for a short moment to move the pan, even if it means he's eating carbon instead of eggs.
Lovely day, indeed. As lovely as any spend by her side can be.
