“my father is a boy and my mother is a girl so i’m mixed” is the funniest possible response to someone asking your gender and it came from 6’5 Viking footballer and notable weird little guy Erling Haaland on a Snapchat

Okay. For my money, the entire thesis of Chris Nolan’s 2026 film The Odyssey is that society chokes and sputters and dies when we abuse, ignore, or violate social norms like the laws of hospitality. That is not really what The Odyssey (the book/poem) is about, but I can clearly see why in the horror that is the 2020s, someone could read The Odyssey and go oh my god that’s a lot of bad dropping in. That’s a lot of bad visits. That’s a clear vision of how the loss of social norms and cohesion fucks you up and how war, literal, brutal war, is a terrible wound that destroys your humanity and your understanding of what civilization and society is. I don’t know that the iteration of Greek society that ultimately birthed the poem would agree with Nolan’s take, but I think this movie is quite ideologically coherent, that Nolan knew exactly what he was trying to say with each and every adaptational change, and I think he wasn’t nuts for using one of the most famous classical western civilization works as a way to make that argument.

Doctor says I got the depression from a lavender bush growing outside my house. Yep. The smell drifting in through open windows in the summer heat made me melancholy. [reacting to everyone's incredulousness and getting defensive and aggressive] I'm telling you that's what he fucking SAID. He said scents can bring about a mournfulness in the soul. No. He said there's nothing to be done about it now
still thinking about "it told you what you most want is what you most can't have, and what you most can't have is what you already had, and lost. it was a song of all the promises i failed to keep"
i'm sorry i didn't respond to your DM for 23 days. the number on the notification icon got really big and i began having irrational anxious thoughts such as "what if people are in there trying to contact me"

he likes having his autonomy violated and his boundaries overruled it's literally good for him. he likes being given a meaningful task within pre-defined constraints that he absolutely must do Or Else. and he likes being packed up and kept in a box. send post.
“how did you get into writing” girl nobody gets into writing. writing shows up one day at your door and gets into you

God moves in a mysterious way:
He gives his harness bells a shake.
What will survive of him is love
If he should die before he wake.
I had a dream, which was not all a dream. See in her cell sad Eloisa spread, Look’d up in perfect silence at the stars. I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
A sudden blow: the great wings beating still Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun, I work all day, and get half-drunk at night.
If I should die, think only this of me, Between what I see and what I say, In this short Life that only lasts an hour Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
#i get knocked down but i get up again #o‚ what a rogue and peasant slave am i! #didnt make sense not to live for fun #do you love the color of the sky? #everybody wants to rule the world #everybody walk the dinosaur #and if i could‚ i’d make a deal with god: #to keep it real i fuck him on the floor
