Emma hadn’t even really been trying to insult Lily when she said what she did, she was merely making an observation and happened to just put it in a… less than sensitive way. She sipped her drink, made a bit of a face, and exhaled a laugh, looking down at herself. She didn’t care if her costume was creative, at least everyone could actually tell who she was in it, unlike the girl in front of her who must have been some sort of reference to something Emma didn’t know about. “Ah, trying to find out who I am?”
The laugh made her feel a tad bit better because she hadn’t completely dissed the other girl. Lily blinked at the other girl as she focused on the costume itself. She could only assume it was their own gear they had at school, but maybe the other person had figured out how to purchase gear elsewhere. She made a soft humming noise, “Not exactly. You’re a quidditch player. I’m a quidditch player. We’re probably rivals.” She noted drinking her cup with a scrunched up face. “I’m pretty sure my team will win if our captain stops being so full of themselves.” She giggles lightly into her cup not really meaning it.. or maybe she did.
Gaspard considered the question, longer than most would, of course. This was Gaspard, so he had to run through every possibility imaginable, of course. He never said anything without being absolutely sure of what he was saying. “Yes, I imagine that it would be. I do not think this spell is meant to damage any of us.” A pause. “Though…I suppose it could be some sort of jinx, as it is…mildly inconvenient.”
Lily hums thoughtfully. She was patient and waited for his answer. What else did she have to do?Nothing much. She takes another glance around with a slow nod. “Jinx might be right. I wonder how elaborate the counter is?” She asked much too curious for her own good. Stroking her chin thoughtfully before she shrugged. “It might be interesting to test out if something makes it reverse?” She couldn’t just let the thought of not figuring this out go.
Lucius had drank well… way too much. He wasn’t going to be recognized anyways, and he was well past giving a shit. But he had spent the night trying to find Celestia to wish her a happy birthday and with this enchantment that was… rather difficult. The more he tried, the more frustrated he was which meant of course, the more he drank. The punch was spiked, he wasn’t surprised, and that was the main reason he needed it, being drunk was fun. But at the same time, it made him stumble and it made him quite loud.
Pointing at one person near him he started, “You get a happy birthday,” next, “You get a happy birthday,” last, “You all get a fucking happy birthday and if one of you aren’t Celestia I’m going to lose my mind…”
Lily had been pouting about the punch. Because she wanted uncontaminated punch, and being at this party meant that was unheard of. She had turned away but the boisterous voice caused her to jump slightly. She turns her eyes and blinks blankly at the center of it all. She couldn’t be sure who exactly it was – The Malfoys always had multiple admirers. She’s curious however and pushes forward loser to the figure her eyes squinted. “Thank you.” She answers calmly. Even though this person was nine months and a day late for her own. She would take it. The redhead never mentioned she was Celestia, but she never denied it either the closest she got.
Don’t do it. The inner conscious purrs through her mind, but she can’t help herself. She extends out a cup full of punch and points behind her towards the beverage table. “You left this over there.”
Alice (unsurprisingly) couldn’t decide whether she wanted to be something cute or scary for Halloween. Of course, traditionally it was supposed to be scary, and it was all about being spooky, but Alice wasn’t exactly a person who people expected to be all that scary, so she was a bit more inclined towards cuter or prettier costumes. However, this was the perfect time to go outside of the box. With makeup to make her smile look as wide as her face, Alice still got to wear cat ears, but her nails were long, her outfit was dark, and her face was certainly more spooky than cute. “The Cheshire cat,” she explained to someone who’s stare was lingering. “From Alice in Wonderland? I made him spookier.”
The person didn’t make the Cheshire cat spookier, they made it downright terrifying. That gigantic toothy grin was enough to give her nightmares. It was like a bad car wreck and no matter how uneasy the costume made her, she couldn’t even turn away. Instead she tasted the alcohol still in her mouth and her eyes widened while she gave the most awkward slow nod of her entire existence. “Oh..uh right. I knew that. Is there an Alice around with you? Perhaps the Queen?” She needed to know who to stay clear from. Because the grim features of the fictional cat were creeping her out. “Good job by the way. Your costume is spooky for sure.” Lily would feel weird if she didn’t give validation where it was due.
cleopatra was dressed up like an Trapeze artist with a pink wig and a sparkle purple outfit “wow no surprise , there a reason why i stay away from it . now the only question remaids who on earth would want to spike the punch”
The bright hair helped soothe the inner panic in her mind. She didn't mind drinking, but who knew what the punch was actually spiked with? Lily Evans was a light weight and she could already feel the drink getting to her. Her attention focused on Cleo's wig pensively. "I really like your costume. I was really enjoying the fruit punch without the alcohol.. bollocks." She huffed, but couldn't help the bubbly giggle contrast that left her lips. "Who? Probably.. probably." There's only one god awful person she could think of, before she blurted it out. "Potter. Definitely, Potter."
Emma admittedly wasn’t the most creative person. If someone challenged her to think of the best costume, then maybe she would have come up with something better, but instead, she felt that going as a Quidditch player was good enough. As the captain, she did have access to all the gear, so she was a keeper instead of a chaser. She adjusted her helmet to keep her hair nice and raised her eyebrows at the other girl. “That explains it. Were you drunk when you picked those clashing colours?” She poured herself a glass of punch and took a sip.
The hoarse coughing remained as she held the cup over her mouth still trying to make the burning down her throat cease. She eyed the figure saying her colors clash, at least she had done more than take a trip down to their lockers. “No I wasn’t intoxicated. It’s called being creative with your costume.” She bit her tongue from saying any other comment that could be partially mean. She scrunched her nose towards the punch partially disappointed she couldn’t taste the fruit kick to it anymore. “Are you wearing your own gear?” She cleared her throat trying to be civil.

Lily much rather spend her time at Hogwarts as things between her sister and her have escalated over the years of her attending school. The time at homes she spends like a recluse in her room reading books or sending OWL’s to her friends. Her parents ground her on a regular basis from the word of mouth that she is using magic against Petunia to force her to break the house rules.
Lily is obsessed with quidditch. She loves the sport and tries to figure out how to watch the matches while she’s home. Sometimes if her father is sloshed enough he will watch it with her. Even though most of the time she doesn’t get along with her parents - sports is the only thing she feels like she can bond with them over.
At times when she’s home and Petunia is in a nicer mood, she will set Lily up with blind dates with muggles.. Hoping that maybe one way or another to persuade Lily from not wanting to go back to Hogwarts. This only makes her haul ass even more.
In school she loves to absorb all the different subjects. She can be a perfectionist when it comes to Potions. Only because she needs the constant distraction to not think about Severus inside the classroom.
Lily is outgoing and kind hearted. Sometimes she can come off as brash and blunt. She doesn’t mean to be this way, but sometimes she doesn’t see the reason to beat around the bush. She cares for everyone she meets, unless their name is James Potter.
Lily is also very much a hopeless romantic at heart. She goes in and out of crushes like a whirlwind. Which makes her wonder if she will even know when she’s found the one.
Wanted Connections:
Owl Pals - Someone she constantly owls like a texting bff. They could rarely see one another due to their conflicting schedules, or maybe the other person doesn’t want anyone to know they’re talking.
Muggle Buddies - Always a good thing! So someone at least knows what she’s going on about.
Chess Tutor - Someone that tutors her how to play Wizarding chess. Because the general idea of it fascinates her.
Friends - She needs all the friends.
Ex-somethng: Ex-boyfriend, Ex-friend. Something went wrong, maybe not as bad as Severus.. but close enough.
Halloween always made her hunger spike out of control. It made her dream of candies and sugar plums. An all you can eat candy buffet. It was this holiday that made her miss home, but that sentiment quickly dissolved when she remembered what waited for her there. Self-consciously she tugs at the skirt of her dress and adjusts her green scarf. Good lord, she hoped no one mistook her for a Slytherin. Lily had thought she had done a bang up job looking over the food and drink table. That is until she lowered her cup into the punch bowl. There’s an odd scent to it, but she refuses to believe someone spiked it out from underneath her nose. Turquoise hues flicker to the other in front of her. “I had some punch earlier and it was far out.” But she took a drink and almost coughed it onto the other in front of her. Her face skews up as if she had bit into an expired plum.
Dressed as a rather stylish vampire, Gaspard watched the crowd closely, a look of great concentration on his face. Could someone watching him tell that? Yes, he thought, since it hardly defined him, right? “This is so…strange…” he said, slowly moving his eyes to rest on the person next to him. He took a long moment before explaining himself. “I mean this spell…how does it really work, I wonder? I feel as though if I stared at you long enough, I could glimpse something, but alas…nothing…”
Part of this spell made her nauseous, and that’s only because she wanted to know who the others were. So she knew who to stay away from, and the disguises reminded her of spinning on a merry-go-round too quickly. There’s a small part of her that wants to just swat at the others face, but she determined that might not go over too well. She puckered her lips thoughtfully, “Do you think it was a charm component?” The magnitude of the spell had her insanely curious. Tucking a strand behind her ear she had known that a non-muggle likely wouldn’t recognize her costume. Unless the wizarding world watched Scoobie Doo and knew who Daphne was. “I’d be curious to know the ingredients, what are your thoughts?”
If there was one thing Ted could do at a party, it was dance. Dancing was just about fun. It was about letting go and not caring how you look because, really, no one else cared how you looked and no one else was really watching how you danced. To be quite honest, Ted was like that in a lot of ways, anyways. Letting loose, not caring…he kind of had to not care, otherwise he’d drown in all the judgments that were passed on to him. So he danced. And tried to get another to do the same. With a grin, he walked to the nearest person–unable to tell who they were, but knowing they could use a dance. “Would you like to dance? This song is really fun, I think.”
Lily hadn’t been to too many parties since she had started at Hogwarts. Before her parents tended to throw an occasional shindig. One of her many problems was, Lily thought she was rather good at dancing. The truth is she was as coordinated as a newborn giraffe. Dancing didn’t need to be serious anyway was always her argument. The request pulls her slowly from her listening to the sounds around her. She looked to the blurred face in front of her, and down to apple slices she had been snacking on. With a soft hum she nodded to the figure and started to sway her his taking two uncoordinated steps forward. Popping the last bit of apple into her mouth, because she wasn’t about to waste a perfectly good snack.
