Strange Conversations II Janice & Rowan
“I uh—I guess you could say that…” Janice couldn’t help but feel self-conscious with this new line of questioning for it made her reevaluate the last few days if not the last few years of her life and what she found was that perhaps she had felt the need to apologize more often than not. But those instances she had needed too hadn’t she – it had made sense. She had needed too. Swallowing her fingers stilled the feeling of being watched only growing as she stared at the girl before her, “In the way of others?” she repeated slowly brow creasing “Metaphorically not, no…I mean, I don’t think I’d ever be in the way in that manner but physically—yeah but aren’t we all at one time or another?”
Rowan watched as Janice seemed to digest the implication of the questions before answering them. The response elicited a chuckle from Rowan. "At one time or another, maybe... but not all the time." The expression on Janice's face told her that a different approach was in order. Rowan closed her notebook and placed it to the side before pulling up her legs beneath her so that she was sitting cross-legged in the chair. Rowan was capable of using the typical methods and had always done very well with them too, but she also liked knowing that no one was evaluating her and she could try her own approach with Janice. "Where do you feel most comfortable?" she asked. "Is there a place where you feel like you can just be you and there's nothing to worry about?"
