Norwegian government considers shifting border to gift its Nordic neighbour a peak that would become its highest point
Aw! Buds!
Wardrobe meme day 5: Swimwear. This is how you donât compose a picture kiddos. What do you look at first? Denâs mermaid print swimsuit? Norâs fisher-price patterned trunks? The Salvador Dali-esque melting at the bottom? Who cares? Denâs checking Norâs ass out underwater and thatâs all I set out to achieve. (Want more poorly planned art? follow me on IG at jerri_tangerine)
Hilarious. [Who didnât love a joke about one of their biggest fears?] Coffee would be nice. [He took a seat at on the couch and examined the decor, Fannar had always had interesting tastes in style.]
Pulla and Friendship
[Tino would always pick on the Norjaâs place as second largest drinker of coffee, with Finland being first but this time he decided against it. Tino had a knack of telling when the other was displeased and it was obvious the picture had not made him happy.] Itâs really good, where are the beans from though?
I order them online. [It was no secret that his country didnât exactly have the climate for growing coffee beans, so he got them straight from the source.] Where do you get yours? [Lukas was glad to have moved from the awkward subject of the unwanted gift.]

The door was already unlocked when he tried the handle, and Lukas couldnât help but feel relieved. The last few weeks had exhausted him and he appreciated the company of someone he wouldnât have to put on a front for. Upon opening the door, he found his guest had made himself at home in the living room.
âThank you for making the trip,â he said in place of a greeting as he hung his coat by the door. He noticed Mikkel had started the heating and was grateful didnât have to come home to the cold.
Mikkel had been sitting on the couch, resting his eyes, when Lukas entered. With the enthusiasm of a puppy, he shot up when the door opened and was on his feet grinning by the time that Lukas entered. âMaking the trip? I swam here. It was quite a trip indeed!â He chided, allowing the other man to put his coat up before pulling him into a smothering hug. âI hate when you guys disappear on me, man.â
The hug made him tense up, before accepting his fate and simply enduring it. He sighed, âI should have texted you, Iâm sorry.â Normally, he wouldnât apologise for something he had no choice in. But considering the other had come so far just to see him, Lukas felt like he owed it to his friend. Besides, even if attendance had been compulsory, it would have taken a few seconds to send a message.Â
âWhat did I miss here, howâve you been?â
Boat Race
@lietuvos-misku
Heâd wanted to spend a few days before returning home after the party, instead of throwing himself right back into his work. Procrastination, one might call it. A quick text had suggested boating was the best was to spend a cloudless summerâs day, so here they were, standing on the pier, paperwork freshly signed.Â
âLooks like this one is ours.â The boat was obviously worn, but at least appeared clean and well tended to.Â
So, you finally decided to show up? I guess I missed your entrance party, but it's not like you to make a bunch of noise.
I had some business to attend to, but, I attempted to make my absence and reappearance as seamless as possible. What have I missed? [He doubted he had missed out on anything greatly important.]Â
[Tolys followed Lukasâ glance, slowing looking across the room. A few people were dotted along inside the cafe here and there, some were walking towards the counter, other were browsing the many wares, looking to buy something, all the while the two of them sat and listening to the man in the corner playing guitar. When Lukas spoke, Tolys was a bit disappointed that he was so easy to read.]Â
Youâre good at figuring out peopleâs tastes, or maybe I should be less obvious about mine. So which one do you like the most?
[Lukas continued to look around the room before becoming fixated on the greys and deep blues of swirling clouds and an enraged ocean.]
You can be a tad predictable, but itâs not a bad thing. I like the one of the storm at sea.
[He was in the process of deciding whether to buy it. The cost wasnât an issue, he probably wouldnât even look at the price before purchasing. He was trying to picture somewhere he could hang it. Most walls that needed to be adorned with artwork or photographs already were.]
[He sipped down the rest of his drink, not altogether surprised that he was considered predictable. Wasnât he always? After finishing his drink he set the cup down, looking in the direction of Norâs interest]Â
That oneâs nice. It looks veryâŠyou. I hope thatâs taken as a compliment.Â
[They had sat in there for quite some time now, and the sunlight had started to shift into a yellow evening, the light reflecting in the cafĂ© was casting an aesthetically pleasing glow.]Â
Let me get it for you since I have a discount here. Iâve been a patron for 20 years.Â
Pulla and Friendship
[Tino clapped his hand together in utter delight and he laughed happily at the others shocked reaction. He couldnât help but giggle at the other who seemed wordless.] Now youâll always know how much you love me, even if you canât admit it sometimes.
[Was there a less harsh way to say it seemed a little weird and clashed with the rest of the decorating? He sighed.] Wasnât it you who needed a reminder? [The look on his friendâs face was so happy that he couldnât bring himself to tell him. Lukas could put it away once the other left.]
Oh donât worry, I have one as well. [He sipped his coffee with a bright smile on his think, pale lips. The coffee covered his mouth and he hummed enjoyably.] This is good coffee Lukas, where did you get it from?
[Oh. Great. He didnât even want to ask why Tino had frames of the perfect size ready to go on such short notice, heâd only sent the message last night. Instead, he focused on his second statement, this time something he was passionate about.] Thank you, I ground it myself.

Not a bad choice!Â
[In a few moments, Tolys had gotten in line and brought back their drinks. The cafe was cozy, as the wind had picked up that day and still carried a slight chill with it. There was a man in the corner strumming along to an acoustic guitar and singing softly as well, a small tin in front of him with the word âtipsâ written in permanent marker. Tolys sat down and looked at a few of the paintings on the opposite wall before turning to Lukas]Â
I bet you would never guess which of the paintings hanging up here is my favorite.Â
Hmm.
[Lukas glanced at the paintings adorning the walls before the vivid green colours drew his eyes to a particular one depicting a clearing amongst a dense forest. He took a sip of his drink before responding.]
I would guess itâs the one on that far wall. [He indicated to the forest scene he had just been admiring.]

Drunk Dance
âAh, it wasnât that bad. Theyâre decent people.â Somehow they had managed to walk down the stairs, and were soon to mix in with the rhythm along with the rest of the people. His hand slipped from Lukasâ arm from his hand, and raised it up between them. He was used to dancing like this, it was how he spent many a summer nights when galas such as this were all to common, so he was no stranger to dancing drunk.Â
âI must apologize, you did reveal something up there, and you were the only one.â He bowed before Lukas, before initiating the steps.Â
Decent people donât try to pour vomit over each other. Aware of his own tendency to view things more negatively when drunk, he chose not to vocalise that thought. It had been years since Lukas had danced like this, or danced at all really, but he remembered the steps and they came easily to him. The alcohol helped him to ignore the looks around him and let himself enjoy the dance.
âIt was nothing damning. I donât think itâs a secret how much I care for my brother.â He would rather not have shared that but was just glad to have avoided any questions about romantic feelings, as it was becoming difficult to lie to himself.
Tolys nodded solemnly, slowly, mostly with the rhythm of the music, though it was in recognition of Norâs words. He looked sleepy, but he lead Lukas through the dance with as much power as he would any other time, letting them sway into the motion of the group. He thought Lukas was a very good partner, though a part of him was missing someone at the moment.Â
He leaned inward, towards Lukasâ ear, whispering as the dance transpired, âI will always regret having abandoned Natalya after my commonwealth fell apart. I left her to be occupied by someone else when she needed me most, and Iâll never forgive myself for it.âÂ
Somehow, he felt like he could feel the beat better when he was intoxicated, and the two of them moved in near perfect synchronisation for how much theyâd had to drink. The confession oddly reassured Lukas about a time he stayed, rather than abandoned someone he cared for. Although it had negative consequences in the long run, leaving when they needed him would have become a regret.Â
However, regret was not a foreign feeling, and as he had his own struggles dealing with it, he was unsure what to say in response. âAll I can offer to say is that many nations have done things far worse. And that it means a lot that you told me.â Now Lukas felt like somewhat less of an idiot for being the only one to share something.
Drunk Dance
Despite that his own head had started to spin, he did his best to support Tolys, who was  further gone. âI guess not, fuck âem,â he slurred his words somewhat. Lukas had been hoping to hear secrets, instead heâd seen someone throw up and his friend been punched. It would have been more enjoyable had things turned sexual, at least it would have been interesting. âNonsense, I enjoy your company.â Had anyone else just in the games room hosted, he probably wouldnât have shown up.Â

âAhâŠI guess no one likes to have fun anymore, hm?â He laughed a little, that silly, bubbly laugh he only gives out when heâs had too much to drink. Tolys secured his arm into Lukasâ, as they both had plenty to drink, and he didnât feel like he was completely stable for walking from the âgame roomâ that the others had left, âIâm sorry if Iâm not the best of hostsâŠbut at least thereâs still the crowd, right?â
