Lucia, now that was a name. Hearing the sound of her name once more brought back pleasant memories—a major turning point in her life even more so. For some reason, they have seemed to have lost touch with one another, so naturally she was pleased to hear that she was still well after all this time. “I missed her dearly.”
She regained focus attempting to pay attention to Eve’s words—well lack of. Josephine watched her for an allotted time waiting for response, even though it was likely to be short and lead her to question more. Perhaps it was something she must have said. She waited patiently.
Then Eve spoke, eloquently as ever. Dispensation from the University. Working for her— again. Okay, admittedly this was much to Josephine’s surprise. However, she figured that it must have been of dire importance for Eve to come her here.
“Hmmm….Me?” She looked on at Eve with a dazed expression. Point to herself, “you really think my magic is good enough to be of use to you?”
It took Josephine a few seconds to process everything, and Eve watched every little revelation sink in until it lit Josephine’s eyes and she, too, was smiling.
“Yes, Josephine, you. Though, of course, I can’t whisk you away without getting your grandmother’s blessing, so I’ll have to go meet her, won’t I? Let’s get you upstairs and pack a bag.”
