“Hi boyfriend,” Rae said, when she saw Everett appear next to her. “It’s about time I’ve seen you. Did you deal with what Alaska had going on?”

"Las always has something going on." He shrugged, looping an arm around her shoulder and leaning in for a kiss. "You look cute today."

As she lit the joint with a lighter from her pocket, Alaska laughed. “I can’t believe you. Here, try this.” She held it up for him to try. “The Idea of you writing a love letter is hilarious. Why are you dragging along two girls. You know you can’t date both of them.”

“Can’t I?” He smirked taking the joint and a drag. He blow the smoke out slowly in her face.  “Mmm not bad.” He hummed, closing his eyes a moment. “It’s not like it’s that serious. Why not have some fun?”

“You’re on two dates?” She scoffed, “How? And with who?” She couldn’t believe stand it when someone started to step in on her territory. While she talked she pulled him towards the nearest alley and headed between some dumpsters to pull out the joint.

“Opposite sides of the festival. I’ve got Rae over by the food and Brittany by rides. Ditched them with some friends so I could come find you.” He explained as he followed her. “Get this, Brittany thinks I wrote her a love letter. She’s cute, so I let her believe it.”

“Guess what, guess what, guess what,” Laney repeated, poking her brother in the arm as she spoke. “You have to guess though, I’m not just gonna tell you.”

“uhhhh you finally learned how to fly a broom right?” Everett teased his twin sister with a smirk. “What Laney? What am I guess? Can I get a topic?”

Alaska grinned at being called ‘his’. “Of course I did. I’ve got my handy flask here,” She pulled the bejeweled flask from her bag as she watched him loose focus. She snapped her fingers in front of his face, “Focus Scamander.” She rolled her eyes, “You’re already on a date aren’t you? Plus, I’ve got half a joint in my bag too if you want to try it.”

“I’m on two. Three if you count you.” He joked with a wink as he took the flask and downed the liquor inside. “Well what are we still doing out in the open? Let’s get out of sight and light it up.”

“Because they’re a healthier snack than chips and I’m trying out a diet?” she offered uncertainly.

Everett looked her up and down before nodding. “Yeah okay, that makes sense.”

“Not a bad idea,” Wes mused. “In that case, I think I’ll get her a toy broom.”

“Perfect. We can theme her presents, it’ll be great.”

Kendall rolled her eyes and began to walk in the direction of the terrace. In a few minutes, which she spent messing with and cursing at the bottle, they reached a window. She pushed it open and crawled outside and onto the roof. “Okay, we’re here and I still can’t get this damn thing open.”

Everett held his hand out for the bottle. “May I?”

Rae smiled and looked up when Everett finally got there. “No, no it’s fine, I was, uh I was early anyway,” she replied. “What do you want to do first?”

“Have you already eaten?” He asked, needing to keep her on this side of the festival.

“Ever so studious. There a test I’m forgetting or something?”

“Are you kidding me? This is a blast!” She answered, giggling as she looked up at him. She couldn’t believe how everything worked out. She’d found the writer of the letter before they’d even hit Halloween, and he was great. “We should play a game! I bet I can beat you.” 

“I bet you can’t.” He chuckled as they walked the line of games. “What game do you want to try?”

Alaska closed her eyes as she heard his voice, and for a second, they were the only ones standing there, but then everything faded back in. She turned around to face him after schooling her face, “Because you’re an idiot.” She smirked. “And you like to torture yourself, and you’re an insane flirt. There are many reasons.” She looked up at him with a wink, “Of course I am. I’ve gotten four numbers already, I’m incredibly high, and -” She thought about it for a second, before nodding, “Yeah, a little drunk.”

“Hot damn, that’s my girl.” He joked as he squeezed her a little before loosening his hold of her. “Save any for me? Thought you promised to keep me looped in on this.” Everett said, letting her go completely as he got distracted by a short skirt and large boobs passing them by. “Tell me I shouldn’t.”

“They’re healthy for you,” she replied quietly, her gaze falling to the ground at the word ‘oddball’.

“But if they taste like dragon dug why eat them?” He pushed.

“I haven’t made up my mind yet. Man, I can’t believe she’s almost a year old already.”

“Me either man. I’m thinking a little quidditch jersey. Start her out young.”

“Tell me again why I brought two dates and not you?” Everett teased as he came up to wrap his arms around Alaska's waist from behind. “You’re not getting into trouble without me are you?”
