ok so now think of one native american cartoon character you know of or a sports team relating to native americans whether it’s their actual name or their team logo, or a town you live in or near with a “native” name bet a lot of these things came to you right away i bet you didn’t even have to think
needing native representation in media, education and government are not decoy issues, the commercialization and appropriation of native cultures are not decoy issues, the lack of native representation is institutional oppression at work

There’s an extension called Tab for a Cause that donates money to charity every time you open a new tab (on Chrome or Firefox).
Basically, it puts two or three small ads on your new tab page and then donates the ad revenue to charity.
You’ll get Hearts every time you open up a page, which act as “votes” that you can donate to various charities to tell Tab for a Cause where you want your money to go.
There are a few charities that are always available for donations, but Tab for a Cause also “spotlights” a new charity every month – and starting today (June 2), in support of the BLM movement, the spotlighted charity is the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
Also, did I mention it’s incredibly gorgeous and functional, too? You can customize your new tab background, take notes, create to-do lists and more (I’ve been using this extension for several years and I still have yet to get sick of it)!!
For those concerned about possible scams, this extension is super transparent. All of its code is open-source (x) (x) (x), and you can see all its quarterly financial reports right here.
Seriously, this is so so so easy – I usually hate posts that are all “there’s no reason not to do this!” but right now, I genuinely cannot think of even a single reason not to do this.

Please go and check out useofforceproject.org, the Campaign Zero site where these recommendations come from. It’s eye-opening looking at the difference between cities with these specific guidelines in their use of force policies. The more guidelines are implemented, the fewer civilians are killed, as well as fewer officer assaulted or officers killed in the line of duty. These guidelines are good for everybody, and we should be implementing them everywhere in the country.

Do not hurt yourself, do not hurt others, get help, talk to someone, anyone. Humanity has survived before and we can do it now if we all just support each other. My country and my people let me down and endangered my life but there’s nothing I or anyone else can do about that so let’s try to spread the love that is so clearly lacking.
