I have been obsessed with this fic for MONTHS and finally decided to do something about it. Here’s my collage cover, sourced mostly from several cannibalized issues of The Hockey News and a couple NatGeos. I have had the express privilege of helping beta some of the later chapters and it has been such a joy to take a peek into Zero’s creative process!!

I genuinely do not think you will find better written hockey scenes or understanding anywhere in the fandom. Zero knows their SHIT, both on the ice and off. I learned so much more about how hockey works as a total newbie just from reading their writing and they have helped me with several ideas as well!! Zero puts so much work and thought into this project and deserves the world in my humble opinion ❤️

Lovingggggg your situationship era hcs — these are all so delicious. Could you do one with some caretaking? Like maybe two of the three are sick in the giant bed (with something very minor) and the third is attempting to take care of them, bring them soup, get them to nap, etc, and it’s basically impossible because they’re such pains in the ass, and ends up with a “you know what WOULD make me feel better…” makeout session? Or literally anything lol I just love reading this stuff and you are so good at coming up with it!!! Thank you!!

Okay this isn't exactly what you pitched but it's the direction my brain went—Hollanoveau collectively hibernating together for like three days straight after a playoff run.

None of them went all the way to the Cup this time around, and that's always a fuckin' bummer, but they're trying to focus on the silver lining of being able to go to the Cottage a little sooner.

They then proceed to spend the first few days after getting there barely leaving the bed, and not even in a sexy way (not that sexy things don't happen, let's be real here). But after pouring their all into the past season, and squeezing that little bit more out of themselves to push through the depths of the playoffs, they are fucking spent.

Shane doesn't even complain when Ilya heats up a premade meal and eats it in bed, precariously sharing bites with half-asleep Cliff and risking getting sauce on the sheets; it's not worth the fight, he's too tired, and besides, sauce is not even the most questionable fluid that will end up on the sheets today, most likely.

And it's also just nice, getting to watch them be so relaxed and sleepy; Ilya keeps giving these little humming sighs as he eats, and Cliff keeps adorably rubbing his eyes and trying to stay awake a little longer so he can steal a few more bites. (He's a goner as soon as Shane decides to be Cliff's big spoon, rubbing the tip of his nose against Cliff's hairline and pressing a couple chaste kisses to his neck.)

Then Ilya lazily leaves the empty container on the bedside table before he's settling back down in bed too, tucking himself to Cliff's chest and draping his arm over both his boys contently.
