So the story behind this song, is heart breaking and heart warming at the same time. Brian May, the guitarist for Queen, wrote this song for the 1991 Queen album Innuendo. The song was written about how even though Freddie Mercury was slowly dying from AIDS, he was still doing shows, writing, and making music with the band. When they were recording the song, they were worried the Freddie would not have had the strength to do the vocals, because it was getting much worse, and was bed ridden, but he recorded it, and killed it. There will be no one like Freddie Mercury. I don’t care what anyone says, Queen was and still is the best band ever to exist.
The Show Must Go On by Queen
“I’ll fucking do it, darling” he said and killed it in a single take that’s something you need to remember. This is a song that was a single continuous take for his vocals. No misses. No re-records. Not on this, not for Freddie.
Freddie Mercury was a damn legend. Also, to continue that Story, they tried to do more songs after the release of Innuendo, knowing that Freddie’s health was only getting worse by the day. His health was so bad that Freddie basically demanded that they do all of the vocals WITHOUT tracking instruments at all, since he knew his time was running out. Only about 3 songs feature recording made in the timeframe between Innuendo and Made In Heaven. Those songs were “A Winter’s Tale,” “You Don’t Fool Me,” and of course, “Mother Love.” Mother Love, for the record, is one of the saddest songs to listen to based on not the lyrics, but the fact that Freddie, after recording up to the final verse, said he needed to “go rest,” and that they’d finish it later that day. Sadly, this never happened. Freddie’s health got worse, and because of this, Brian May had to sing the final verse. A fan of Queen I know described it like this “At a certain point, the instruments just play without vocals, like someone had tripped over the mic cord at a live show, and the band had to fumble on until it was fixed… and then the vocals start again… and there’s this heart shattering moment when you realize that it wasn’t Freddie’s voice.”
Whats your favorite mamma mia song?
fun fact about american history: george washington was apparently so sexy that when he was 17 he went swimming a river and some girl that had a crush on him stole his clothes and watched as he walked around naked looking for them
aaron burr, the guy who shot alexander hamilton and also the second vice president of the united states, tried to start an empire out in texas
marquis de lafayette literally had to sneak out of france to come aid america and while some versions of the story claim that he disguised himself as a commoner, other versions say he dressed up like a woman
literally all the founding fathers had daddy issues, specifically alexander hamilton who refused to even befriend george washington initially because he didn’t want to grow close to someone who had the potential to become a father like figure to him
thomas jeffereson kept a bust of alexander hamilton in his house at monticello for no reason other than the fact that hamilton was his sworn enemy and he felt as though he needed a very expensive bust of his sworn enemy in his house
I love all of this please keep going.
they didn’t let hamilton try this one course of study at king’s college because it was so intense that it made one student literally get sick and have to go home for months on end and that student was james madison
george washington made a rule banning snacks during cabinet meetings because thomas jefferson would always eat mac n cheese which wasn’t big in the us at the time and all the other founding fathers thought it was disgusting
aaron burr once set himself on fire because he attempted to light a candle by shooting it because he was too tired to get an actual match and his gun was nearby
Burr once got a brain freeze from eating ice cream and thought he was dying

Your job is the most important part of theatre productions
Being a broadway star would be the BEST kind of famous. You’re only famous to certain people so you could totally live a normal life, and when you’re noticed it’s by some teenager who’s obsessed with you and cries about how much you mean to them and gives you beautiful fan art like that’s the dream
When I was sixteen, my mom passed away from cancer. The next year, at my sister Maggie’s graduation, a giant rainbow appeared in the sky. My aunt remarked that my mom often showed up for her in rainbows. At the time, my sisters and I kind of brushed it off, but at Celia’s wedding aa few years later, right as she began reading her vows, a rain shower broke out of nowhere, creating a huge rainbow over the ceremony site. This weekend, as I got ready to marry Scott Bixby — the most handsome, sensitive, brilliant man I know — I joked that I was going to be pissed if he hadn’t arranged for a rainbow to show up. As we were getting into our suits, I was hit by a wave of sadness. Although it was without a doubt one of the happiest days of my life, it was hard knowing that someone really important to me wasn’t going to be there for our big day. But right as we were about to walk down the aisle, the clear blue sky became cloudy and a sudden burst of rain showered over the field where we were having our ceremony. I noticed everyone pointing behind us and we turned around to see a huge rainbow that had formed across the sky. I can’t say I’m a very religious or even spiritual person, but in that moment, I felt taken care of. Marrying Scott this weekend was one of the great moments of my life. It was magical getting to be surrounded by the people we love, and I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with such a beautiful person. Oh, and the song that played as we walked down the aisle? “Rainbow Connection.”
