Morels
Lactarius deliciosus is orange when young, but bruises green and blue over the entire fruiting body.Â
angelika_sorkina
Ruby Bonnet Mycena viscidocruenta
We tried to look for morels on Tuesday but all we found were Verpa conica, which apparently are also edible but everything we found was bug-filled so thank you, next. I want to keep looking in the mountains
Urnula criterium
(Devil’s urn)
From the Cortinarius cinnamomeus group;Â a dye mushroom producing peach colors on protein-based fibers
Xeromphalina campanella, radiant inside of a rotting tree.
Picked these today…this shit is wild, i can’t believe morels are out right now but I’m not mad!
Russula xerampelina (Shrimp Russula) and Russula sanguinea in the same basket (with Candy Caps as well!) The two Russula species are similar in appearance but upon tasting, sanguinea is very bitter and peppery while xerampelina has a mild taste. We ate the Shrimp Russula for dinner with Zatarain’s, onion, and potatoes
Candy Caps (Lactarius rubidus) drying on the dashboard while it rains (also identifying Cortinarius in the background)
Chlorophyllum brunneum in Chantry Flats
Hydnum repandum
(Hedgehog mushrooms)
Coprinus comatus
(Shaggy ink cap, Shaggy mane, Lawyer’s wig)
