Honestly there’s such an unnecessary stigma with tracing, regardless of the context. I used to trace all the time to better understand anatomy, and I still do!

Someone wanted me to draw Angela Cross from the Ratchet and Clank series. I ended up trying to update her design to match the more cuddly art style they use in Rift Apart now. Used refs for pose.

Ok but is nobody but me gonna mention that great detail of Ratchet getting ready to square up with Rivet once she took that blow at his fear of finding the other Lomaxes? Boy was pissed, he squared them shoulders, tried making himself look taller than her, took in a deep breath, them big brows furrowing, its an amazing touch right there at showing how hurt that comment made him since we can’t see his face.
