Maddox: could feel how she raised her walls and he did not mean to do that but at the same time he wanted her to know that he knew. "I know," he said after a moment. "I saw." His cheeks turned red. "I'm sorry. I mean, I am not because it was very hot but I know that I should not have watched it because it was you but I had to." He shook his head. "And you got paid quite a bit from me. Guilt money but it was well earned."

Evie: felt her heart drop. She knew immediately what he was referring to. Her mouth dry, she stared at him. "You saw." She nodded. "Guilt or not, I guess it still pays the bills." She licked her lips and looked at him, worried. "So, what goes on from here? I tell you not to watch again and you listen, I tell you not to watch again and you do it anyway but keep throwing money at me, or you join in and we make a killing on an actual hook up?" she asked, making a joke to ease a bit of the tension in the room and the anxiety in her stomach.

Maddox: still could not believe what he saw. Porn was easy for the boy so he decided to move on to something more. He had tons of money - more than he knew what to do with - so he had decided to look up some sites where he could watch girls. He clicked on one and watched for a minute and was not into it. He clicked a few more with the same results. By his fifth one, he didn't know if this was good for him. Then he clicked on one and his eyes widened. He knew this girl. It was Evelyn. He should turn it off and walk away but he couldn't. He watched but now he needed to ask he some questions. She was receptive to his texts so he went to the gym and found where she wanted him to meet her. "Hey there," he said, unable to help the smirk on his face.

Evelyn: looked up as he walked in, immediately feeling prickly. "Hi. Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, her eyes narrowed suspiciously. She didn't know Maddox extremely well, but she knew him well enough to trust him for the most part. There was an air about him in the moment, something about him that screamed that he had something to say that she wasn't going to like. "What am I missing?"

Evelyn: spent most of her time at the gym where she worked, so it wasn't a big deal to make time to meet Maddox there. He'd texted her to ask about talking something over with her and she had quickly given him a time and place. She had no idea what he could have wanted, but being asked to talk was always worrying for her and most of the fully cognizant world. When the time came to meet him, Evie excused herself from the main floor and prepared to meet him in the small conference room just next door to the main office and waited.

Screw It

I can’t be the only one tired of living in fear these past few weeks. Since the storm, I’ve literally been stuck inside and completely unplugged so I don’t have to deal with this crazy “Z” bullshit. I’m over it and refuse to sit in hiding anymore, plus its been really nice out lately and I have yet to truly explore any of this town since all the craziness.

I guess you’re right, if it was fake they probably would have told everyone immediately after.  I don’t know either, All I can think is maybe they were trying to figure out a way to cover it up but couldn’t, so they had to roll with that lame excuse.
