“Ugh, I honestly don’t want to talk about it.”
Evie didn’t want to talk about it.
She didn’t want to spend the rest of her night talking to her new neighbor and also friend about what took place earlier that morning in her apartment. It was embarrassing—at least to her of course. “Just…leave it alone alright?” She pleaded. “I’d rather talk about the time when my pathetic older brother pushed me into a pool and I could’ve sworn I was going to die.” Evie paused for a second and took a sip from her cup of tea.
Simon let a sigh out, “Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it.” He took a seat at the table with her.
Evie set her cup down on the table while thinking to herself momentarily. “I uh…you know what? Sure, I’ll tell you but you have to promise me something.”
“Sure, what’s that?” He folded his hands together and placed them on the table, waiting for her response.
“Promise me...promise me that you won’t laugh! Not even a little bit!”
