List of filming locations + canon locations meta
This was originally intended to both fulfill me getting stupidly excited over useless filming trivia like the film nerd I am, as well as having visuals and references to go off of when writing fic. But I figured might as well organize and post it. If either of those things apply to someone else, this list is for you too I guess :)
Exterior shots were filmed in a small street downtown Budapest near Elizabeth Square, just off Kirà ly utca on Asbóth utca. The address is Budapest, Asbóth u. 17, 1075 Hungary if you wanna take a peek on google maps hehe.
This is supposed to be the Brixton area of London, England.
Exterior shots of the museum were filmed at the National Art Museum of Hungary in Heroes' Square-Hősök tere, Budapest. Parts of it were added through CGI. The interior, as well as the gift shop, were built from scratch.
This is supposed to be the National Art Gallery of London.
When Steven's leaving the museum in ep1, Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are seen through the doors.
The scene with Steven talking to Crawley after work was filmed in Madách Square, under the ARCadia Hotel in Central Budapest. It was shot less than half a block away from the location of Steven's flat.
Assuming this is very close to Steven's flat.
The castle Steven wakes up by in the Swiss Alps was inspired by Eltz Castle near Koblenz in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany in Wierschem.
The village scene was filmed in the town of Szentendre, on the left bank of the Danube, a few miles North of Budapest, shaped by Fő tér (the towns main square). The Hungarian shop signs were replaced with German ones.
The cupcake van/mountain scene was filmed near the Bezgovica settlement in Oslinica, in southern Slovenia. The road is called Bear's Guts.
Supposed to be in Austria. ~640 miles (1,030 km) from London. Fastest direct flight would be almost 2 1/2 hours.
This nothing-less-than-devastating scene was filmed at a converted bistro called Tróger Gasztró Bisztró, on the corner of Là zà r utca and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky köz, in Budapest.
Assuming this isn't too far from Steven's flat.
Marc's heartbreaking Storage Locker
Marc's storage locker is shot just off Egry József utca, in a building suspected to be apart of Kármán Tódor College.
Supposed to be Central London Storage.
The establishing shot when Layla and Steven are riding on the Vespa together is in the South of London on Queenstown Road at Robertson Street.
Harrow takes Steven to his London headquarters, and when he's showing him around, it's on Nagykalapács utca. It was at an old factory called Csepel Müvek, in the Lágymányos neighborhood in southern Budapest. Interior shots were done in the studios.
When Steven's taken from his flat it's daytime, but when he arrives it's dark. It doesn't necessarily add up but I guess we can assume it's a mini road trip away from his flat?
You're in the wrong ends, mate.
The scene with Steven and Layla fighting the jackal is at a Budapest street corner, Onto u and Központi út.

The rooftop chase at the end of ep2 is a mix between soundstages and visual effects to have it appear as though throughout London. Some of the landmarks included are St. Paul's Cathedral, a Bank of America building on King Edward St., The Ned (a hotel), Newgate Street, The Viaduct Tavern, the Sky Garden tower, the Royal Exchange building (at Cornhill and Threadneedle), and the Tower of London.
It's all right, just breathe through it.
Marc ends the chase at the Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest.
Supposed to be a churchyard in London, near The Tower of London.
London to Cairo is about 3,480 miles (5,600 km), fastest direct flight would be around 5 hours.

All scenes set in Cairo were filmed on exterior sets in Budapest, including the rooftop fight and the market scenes.
The Chamber of the God's scene set was built on a 47,074 square-foot soundstage at Origo Studios in Budapest, Hungary.
Set inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.
This establishing shot shows the 6 October Bridge and the Ramses Hilton hotel. Another shows the Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hassan and the Al-Rifa'i Mosque in Cairo's historic district.

Scenes at Mogart's mansion were filmed about an hour southwest of Budapest at the Nádasdy Mansion (Nádasdy Kastély) near Lake Balaton. Two Louvre-inspired glass pyramids were built in the garden of the Hungarian estate to emphasize the shows themes.
All desert scenes were shot at Wadi Rum Nature Preserve in Jordan.
Alexander's tomb in the show is located at 29°N and 25°E, which is between Libya and Egypt.
The memory of Marc's childhood street was filmed on the backlot at Origo Studios.
Supposed to be a street in Chicago, just off of Milwaukee Avenue, where Marc grew up.
Chicago to London is about 3,950 miles (6,357 km), roughly an 8 hour direct flight.
Layla, wait. I am the Goddess Taweret.
The scene where Taweret first talks to Layla is likely shot off Wadi Rum road.
The Sienkiewicz Psychiatric Hospital during the mid credit scene was filmed between Halls D and E in the HungExpo, the convention and exhibition center in Budapest. The Gherkin and the East London Mosque that are seen in the background were added into the shot afterwards.
Supposed to be a psychiatric hospital in London.
