Sans realized just how much tension had been building up inside his bones while being possessed. It hurt.

Frisk hugged him; the last action they wanted to do before the RESET.

{♥} ---- “See ya later, Frisk.”

Chara laughed as their eyes disappeared, and the world around them soon vanished as well. The world was being RESET.

Frisk took a deep breath after a few minutes of deciding. They walked over to Sans and took his hand.

✳I pick Sans. Now RESET and don’t hurt him ever again, do you hear me?

{♥} ---- “Alright. I’ll mess with Asgore instead.”

Chara laughed, leaving Sans’ body. They appeared next to the two of them, holding Asgore’s SOUL.

{♥} ---- “I’m sure Asgore will remember your choice, Frisk.”

Frisk didn’t know what to do. Chara was making them pick between two of their best friends? Why would they do that?! This was quite possibly the most difficult decision they’ve ever had to make.

They turned to face the other wall.

✳I need some time to think.

{♥} ---- “Fair enough. Take your time. Just know that after this, I will have a monsters soul.”

They giggled, still holding onto Asgore’s SOUL so it didn’t shatter.

{♥} ---- “Should have shattered when you had the chance, Asgore. Heh.”

Sans kept struggling.

✳Let him go! He doesn’t deserve this! Neither does anyone!

✳I wouldn’t treat you like this! Why do you have to do it to other people?

Chara looked over at where Asgore once stood, seeing that his SOUL had not yet shattered. They grinned, and quickly grabbed it.

{♥} ---- “Pick one. Sans or Asgore. You can only SAVE one. When you pick, I’ll RESET the timeline. Everything will go back to normal. No one will be dead. But whoever you don’t pick... Their SOUL will belong to me. Got it? Like how I have your SOUL right now.”

Sans tried to get away. At this point, it was a matter of life or death.

Meanwhile, Frisk started to shake their head in disbelief.

✳ No, we’re not doing this again. I already gave you my soul, what more do you want?!

{♥} ---- “Oh no we are doing this again, Frisk. Did you know... That to get through the barrier, you need both a monster’s soul, and a human soul?”

They giggled, holding onto Sans as tight as they could.

They were not letting him get away.

Frisk put their hands to their mouth in shock.

✳H-he spared you, Chara….

They couldn’t believe the nerve of that demon.

Chara just kept laughing.

YOU WON! Your LOVE increased.

{♥} ---- “Yes he did! But GUESS WHAT??? I did it. LV 20. We’ve reached the absolute. I can now do what I wanted to...”

They recomposed themselves.

{♥} ---- “ＥＲＡＳＥｔｈｉｓｐａｔｈｅｔｉｃｔｉｍｅｌｉｎｅ．”

Frisk nodded.

✳ Yeah! I’m sure it’ll all be fine in the end, right guys?

Chara nodded, waiting for Asgore to accept their “MERCY”. They couldn’t wait to see the look on both of their faces.

{✿} ---- “Of course it will be... Everything will be alright.”

[ FIGHT ] [ ACT ] [ ITEM ] [ ✿ MERCY ]

As soon as Asgore did that, Chara started laughing. Not a good kind of laugh either. It was a more broken, detached laugh that slowly rose in volume.

{♥} ---- “Get dunked on.”

Several bones rose up from the ground, impaling the king. Asgore choked, not able to really comprehend what had just happened. How? Their FIGHT button was broken- So was that an ACT command or...?

Either way, he was dead. And Chara was still laughing.

He didn’t get to finish his sentence, as he turned to dust.
