Gerhard Richter (German, b. 1932), 3.12.1999 (Firenze) [3.12.1999 (Florence)], 1999. Oil on colour photograph, 12 x 12 cm.
Concept: The Labour party has a charismatic & able leader who is politically somewhere inbetween Miliband and Corbyn, the members have stopped imitating fascist rhetoric, the PLP has returned to scuttling around the halls of westminister, Jeremy Corbyn is sitting on a bench with a flat cap, smiling as he feeds some ducks and the party is on course to win it’s first general election in nearly a decade.
Reality: Various members, factions & MP’s within the party are in an increasingly complex and ugly mexican stand-off before they all collectively shoot themselves in the foot and face. Everything is on fire, including the sea.
Pride (2014) dir. Matthew Warchus
