No way back?

She had no idea of anything that was coming her way. It was like she just couldn’t comprehend the things happening around her. The army behind her was still waiting for her sign. The sign that would end the tiranny once and for all. It was taking too long. She tought back to the days where she was still oblivious to this aweful way of living, this kneeling for someone nobody knew. This tiranny has been going on for as long mankind could remember. Nobody knew who started it, but everybody was sure that she would end it. They all wanted it to end. They all wanted her to give the bloody sign so they could start living again. Except for her, she thinks. What would she do after all this? Would she have a home, a family? Was it right to even kill him in the first place? He just took over from his father and they took over from the one before and so one. Was it truly just to kill such a man? Could she live with herself after all the murders, betrayals and sadness she endured? She wasn’t sure anymore. If she backs out now...  They’ll kill her. If she goes on... It’ll kill her, maybe not physically, but.. 

What to do? She can’t back down now, right?
