They joined forces in early 2009 and have been doing work since. They’re originally from the LA area and are starting to shake things up on a national level. You can learn a little bit about these guys with a quick google search, but let's be honest.. we wanted to know more. So naturally we decided to ask the band ourselves. They were kind enough to answer our questions and even graced us with the Exclusive Release for their cover of Ace in the Hole, played by SoCal piano legend Vince Torney. Film Music Friday: Alex Heffes on Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
Alex Heffes (PRS) is one of the brightest composing talents to emerge from England in recent years. His scores to Kevin Macdonald’s Oscar winners One Day in September, The Last King of Scotland and Touching the Void brought him to international attention; in 2011, the World Soundtrack Academy named Heffes their Discovery of the Year. ForMandela: Long Walk to Freedom, his second collaboration with director Justin Chadwick (The First Grader), Heffes traveled from London to South Africa to capture the spirit of the South African leader and the people that he helped to liberate. We asked Heffes about his journey in this video interview.

From drawing inspiration on the set to literally sifting through junk to find just the right, surprisingly off-kilter sound to bolster Emily Van Camp, Madeleine Stowe and Gabriel Mann’s performances, watch the intriguing and sometimes capricious musical process that Eisler navigates to elevate Revenge to the next level.
