This man has been through a lot.
Tbh, I think he’s the most human and real out of all the tlc characters, and here’s why.
Well for one, he wasn’t fully on board about a so-called revolution that would pave the way for Cinder and defeat his psychopathic queen Levana. He’s been under Levana’s thumb and wrath before. He knows how bad she gets. Honestly, if I was put in his situation or any of the tlc characters and requested to not only support but JOIN the revolution, I’d be hesitant and ready to go home myself lol.
For two, imagine how it feels to be raised in a city and hometown where everyone is fake and is power hungry and has “glamours.”
Imagine how it feels to only trust your parents and best friend, whose a princess.
Imagine how it feels when she starts to get Lunar Sickness.
Imagine how it feels when you fall in love with your best friend and try to kiss them at 10 (Winter reference *wink wink*)
Imagine how it feels when you have to decide between staying with your best friend and crush in the very same palace that is pure manipulation or have a free ticket to get out into one of the other sectors with the only family you’ve got.
Imagine helping your best friend with the biggest wound to date: those three teardrop scars by her evil and jealous step-mother.
Imagine making that huge sacrifice to stay with your best friend and giving up your dream to be the doctor you wanted to be.
Imagine having the incredible patience yet heartbreak when watching your best friend and crush dealing with hallucinations and the ridicules of the Lunar society.
Imagine having to suppress your feelings to your crush that roots for over four years+ (Jacin started at fifteen when he became a guard and ended at nineteen. But someone please estimate how long he’s been crushing on Winter).
Imagine not being able to care for your loved one and best friend the way you want due to a power hungry and vengeful Lunar queen like Levana.
Imagine the incredible endurance it takes to break out that shell.
This man deserves the right to be the sassy, sarcastic human being he is.
Tbh, I’ve seen the unnecessary hate Jacin gets in this fandom. But what finally drew the line was when a post was made about shipping “Winlet.” Then the hashtag said “I don’t like Jacin and Winter deserves better.” WHAT?! JACIN IS WINTER’S BETTER AND VICE VERSA!?
