    was this something that he would allow of just anyone?? no. trust issues were… a difficult thing to get over, especially when one had spent decades as a brainwashed weapon. he was hesitant, on edge of who he could possibly trust. and then there was daisy. bucky wasn’t quite sure how to explain it, but there had been something about her that he just knew. she wasn’t going to turn him in, or betray him. daisy would help him, if he asked. she was a good person, and truthfully, he needed that right about now. right now, she was the only one that actually knew where he was staying in new york. it wasn’t much, just a small apartment, but it was enough for him. he’d spent off a quick message to daisy, asking for her to come over. for now, he was all but curled up on the couch, staring off at the wall. his mind was a mess ( when wasn’t it?? ), constantly flashing with various memories. it made things difficult. made it even worse to sleep, when he always woke up with screams ringing in his mind. he needed someone right now. some one that knew him, that could understand.

       apparently,  daisy johnson has  just enough  of a  knack for finding bucky,  that she’s basically nagged him into trusting her  -  at least,  that’s the story she would tell if anyone asks.  daisy  -  though more known as quake,  a panel member of sorts  - is still an agent of shield,  still just daisy.  and she gets close to people,  trusts them  -  trusts him,  and it seems he’s instilled trust in her too.  so when she gets the message,  she goes as soon as she can.  daisy feels like  . . .  she may be one of the few he really trusts,  and she plans to keep his trust.  post giving the door two knocks,  she opens the door,  head peeping through the crack.    “  hey,  bucks  --  ”   she says,  taking a step forward,  and taking in the scene.  bags drop to the floor,  she moves to sit next to him.    “  ...  what’s up ?  ”

Steve smiled. “That sweet, huh?” He asked. Steve’s own basis for soulmates was the marriage of his parents, although Steve hadn’t been able to see that for himself. Clint and Natasha seemed like a closer option. If they weren’t soulmates, nobody was.

That was fair. Steve wished the rest of the world could see itself like Daisy did. A hell of a lot of problems would get solved much faster that way. “Let me know when you’re about to do that. I wouldn’t mind seeing it.” He had yet to see Daisy’s powers for himself, but Steve’s spot in this day and age left him in a good vantage point for witnessing marvels. “They certainly deserve it.”

       a genuine smile on her lips,  as she  thinks of her two best friends.  it was the sort of love everyone dreamed of,  at least once in their lives.  something so  ORGANIC,  and natural.    “  enough to give even you a tooth ache,  captain rogers.   ”   

           cue finger guns,  head lilting to the left with a click of her tongue.    “  you got it,  i’ll make sure you get front row seats to the show.  ”   it always shocks her,  how much he is interested in her powers;  but daisy’s trying to learn to take it in stride.    “  you’re preaching to the choir,  my dude.  ”

“Not as far as I know,” Clint snorted, shaking his head lightly. “Thanks, Daisy. Still feel like an ass, though.” He barely even knew how to wear a suit – there was a reason Coulson never sent him undercover to fancy parties. “SHIELD thinks a lot of idiots are smart enough for a gun,” he grinned. “You should’ve seen some of the guys I used to train with. Callin’ ‘em monkeys would’ve been complimenting their brains.” He snatched his own glass as the waiter passed, hoping a little bit of alcohol would help him to feel less out of place. “Yeah, he’s nice. Real nerdy, probably get along better with Tony than he does with me. I kinda like to stick with my old weapons. I mean, I use a bow, it’s not exactly high tech.”

          “  well,  the suit doesn’t  ACTUALLY  make  the man.  i’m sure the ass part of you will end up the same.  ”   mindless teasing;  he’s not as much of an ass as he thinks,  but daisy likes to have fun.    “  well,  you got shield there.  they definitely haven’t perfected their idiot testing.  ”   would she pass it ?  who knows,  but she was in with coulson  -  she’d probably still get a gun.    “  aw,  but he’s matured enough.  if anything,  you’d find it  QUITE  enjoyable to listen to his accent.  do ya ?  i like experimenting with what fitzsimmons make.  sometimes it gets me out of having to  . . .  hurt people who don’t deserve having to be hurt.   ”

The hardest part of seeing the people you loved – because Daisy Johnson had been a part of his family in 1610 – was the fact that they didn’t know you. It wasn’t their fault, their counterparts in their opinions did not exist, and Miles didn’t resent them for it. But the look Daisy was giving him was hard to take, like he was a stranger, and he was doing him damndest to give that impression so he didn’t expose himself as a universe jumper. God, would she even believe him?

“Yeah, I’d love a Coke,” Miles said, offering her a tense smile. Hey, a little sugar and caffeine would totally make this conversation easier. “That must be nice!” He said, grateful for the normal shift in conversation. “I’m a waiter, and my boss is totally crazy, y’know? If we leave a table waiting to long, she threatens to basically kill us.” Bucky was the only reason he still worked there. Unfortunately, the normal was very, very fleeting, but he trusted the Daisy of 1610, and he trusted that this one had the same amazing heart. Taking a deep breath, he nodded once. “I, uh, come from another universe,” he said awkwardly. “Tony Stark knows about that if you don’t believe me. He found me when I first got here, saw the energy or something… I don’t know. They won there, and that’s how I ended up here. They infiltrated a lot of government officials and politicians so no one noticed the changes ‘til it was too late. They didn’t start hurting people until the very end, and by then, no one knew to fight back. I don’t want the same thing to happen here so… you’re government. Just watch for any small changes, y’know? And let me help fight back, if you can.”

       he gives her a look that daisy can’t  seem to understand;  but she does her best to keep it in stride.  he is,  after all,  just a kid.  or  -  by  her standards,  anyways.  so instead she takes the coke out of her fridge,  sliding it across the table,  she opening it for him too.

          “  it is nice.  that way i don’t ever have to leave the room and deal with people i don’t want to,  just to get something to drink.  ”   she’ll shrug as she leans up against her desk,  legs crossed out.   “  where do ya’ work at ?  maybe you should consider looking for other jobs.  ”    not that she was the best at getting jobs at his age;  back then she was just doing side jobs that  . . .  well,  were probably something too dangerous for a sixteen year old  skye  to be running around doing.   “  alternate universes  . . .  ”   her hand raises,  rubbing between her brows.  maybe she needed a coke,  or a beer.   “  no,  no  -  unfortunately,  i do believe you.  i don’t need to know all the scientific reasons,  i’m sure that’s something fitzsimmons would more take an interest in.  ”   but she’ll take out her tablet,  typing out the information as she gives it to him.    “  small changes ?  changes like  WHAT,  exactly ?  ”

“How the hell did you end up in a digital world?” MJ asked, looking at Daisy in equal parts astonishment and admiration. “Man, your ex sounds like a total asshole. Is he still in this… non-digital world?” If he was, Spinneret would definitely be paying him a visit. Considering her friends background, he would probably be just as incredible in a battle, but web shooters did a world of wonders. He would be paralyzed for a couple of hours, and Spinneret would be long gone. “Fitzsimmons?” She repeated, raising an eyebrow. “That sounds awesome though! Tony’s my science genius, we’re pretty close, and he pays me, too. I’m really lucky to have him in my life.” That was an understatement, Tony had done more for her than she was willing to explain. “Change is hard sometimes, but once you embrace it, your world can get a lot better.” Growing up, she’d adjusted to so many different cities that change was as normal as a road trip. “I can’t wait,” she said honestly, grinning. “You’re going to be the best damn instructor I’ve ever had, next to Spider-Woman.” Ah, that was a minor slip up, but she could trust Daisy if she inquired.  

       head tilts to the side,  the older agent  trying to decide if she should go into it.  on one hand  -  she could just say  IT’S CLASSIFIED  and get out of story time;  on the other hand ?  it’s a goddamn good story.    “  artificial intelligence,  some robots,  some science,  some magic;  i honestly couldn’t even tell you.  ”   her head shakes;  daisy  NEEDS  to say this,  even it’s not for mj,  but herself.    “  not in the alternate world;  apparently  alternate daisy  was the asshole there.  but uhm  . . .  yeah.  the world was deleted.  there’s no way for him to come back.  ”   and  thank god  for that.  framework ward in the real world ?  that’d be  . . .  TOO MUCH  for her.    “  oh yeah  -  jemma simmons and leopold fitz.  she’s biochem,  he’s engineering  -  together they’re like  A BOMB  of information.  love ‘em.  ”    and it’s says nonchalantly,  but nobody could deny daisy’s love for the two english scientists.  they were her family.  a raise of brows,  daisy says nothing but give a nod of approvement.    “   spider-woman is pretty rad,   if i say so myself.  ”

That sounded familiar. “Let me guess…Fitzsimmmons?” His service in SHIELD was short-lived, but the place was filled with gossips. “The kids that finish each other’s sentences?”

Steve nodded. Jameson was gesticulating wildly now. “The one that writes so many nice things about all of us.” That headline about MJ was particularly memorable. Steve wondered if Jameson commuted like everyone else, or had a car, because that guy needed to get his tires slashed one of these days.

“Seems like Jameson’s the one that wants you distracted, not the Skrulls.” It was a war on two fronts. Jameson on the ground, and the Skrulls in the sky. “They’ll be back,” Steve said to Daisy, wanting to believe it himself. “One way or another.”

        “  man,  you best not say that  around them.  ”  considering how  SHE  reacted to captain america knowing her by the first name ?  and how she reacted ?  daisy thinks the couple would promptly faint,  in each other’s arms.    “  but yeah.  they make me believe in soulmates.  ”   

           a  tsk  of her lips,  but she doesn’t say much.  daisy’s trying to not be  TOO HYPOCRITICAL  here  -  she was once in the shoes of the writers,  when she was hacking for the rising tide.  and though she doesn’t run with the group anymore,  or their ideologies,  she  can understand  where they come from.

           “  a white man,  or an alien.  quite the choice in enemies.  ”   she’ll shrug.  she’ll take on the skrulls any day now;  she’s  TIRED  of dealing with the press.    “  unfortunately for them,  by time i get my powers back,  hopefully i’ll have enough  ANGER  to channel to quake them the hell off of earth.  ”

“I’ve never been,” Bucky admitted, pulling apart another churro, passing it over to Daisy. He could almost hear his father in the back of his head praising him, at the same time as seeing his ma worrying over him. You date too much, she’d said before the war. Maybe he could see where she was coming from, now. “Wait a minute, why am I takin’ care of it?” Bucky asked, moving back in mock affront. “I bought us churros! It’s your turn, Daisy. I’ll be your camera guy in the back.”

He had to say, being around Daisy felt normal. It felt like he was nothing more than himself. She wasn’t expecting an old version that he barely remembered, or fearful of what he had become. “Yeah, ever since I left school,” Bucky replied. “Trained in England, then we covered most of Europe and former Soviet states. And you were … Mary Sue?” The name she had mentioned was definitely a question mark, but Bucky knew about moving on from the past – if she didn’t want to talk about it, his tone was soft enough she could leave it.

Bucky made a little ‘ah’ noise, as if he recognised the name St. Agnes. Most orphanages he knew of from before had St. in the name, so it wasn’t too far of a stretch. “I’m sure they’d be thrilled to see you on a date with me,” he teased, a grin coming onto his face despite himself. “You sound like my youngest sister, Becca. She never knew what to be into. I remember the first time Ma made her porridge for lunch, she got a ball of it in her tiny hand and flung it right at Pa’s head. Got him in one, and she was three months old. I’d never been prouder.” Bucky had to laugh at that, looking over at Daisy as he did. “Guess you’d know,” he said. “You’re one of them.”

      “  then,  i think that’d make it  all the more reason to go,  hmm  ?  ”   she’s only half joking;  daisy really  wouldn’t mind  going to the park.  it’d  be quiet,  peaceful for once !  but  . . .  as an agent of shield,  a member of the panel,  as  QUAKE  -  she’s not so sure she can.  daisy would like to,  though.   “  yeah,  but you’re still eating it,  right ?  ”   a dramatic roll of her eyes,  mockingly putting up her hands in feigned surrender.    “  fine,  fine.  but if the bear and i become friends instead,  i’m sending my new pal after you.  ”  

          all of her  . . .  romantic interests  of the past were far too involved with what she did,  with  WHO  she was.  after years of experiencing  the other  dying,  that was her conclusion.  but this ?  it was simple,  nice,  easy,  classy.  cue a whistle,  she’ll shake her head.    “  i’ve only just started traveling for work.  but we haven’t hit the majority of  europe  -  or settled long enough to relax.  ”   always on her toes,  was shield and daisy.    

        her hands wave casually !  she’s wanting to make this as smooth as possible because well,  she  DOESN’T WANT PITY  for her childhood.    “  it was the name the nuns gave me.  ”   and cue a wink,  an easy,  crooked grin on her lips.    “  if you could pull off a good act,  i think they’d already start praising the lord.  becca sounds like  A HOOT  and  a half.  my kinda girl,  if i say so myself.  even if my best friend,  jemma,  tends to be a strict rule follower.  i’m working on her,  we all are.  ”   her friends were in shield,  her friends were her family  -  it all came to a neat circle at the end.  daisy turns to him,  short locks fluttering against the edge of her jawline.   “  then let me let you in on a little secret.  ”   she’ll cup her mouth as if she had one,  leaning in towards his ear.    “  this pretty girl  DEFINITELY  preferred running around in the basement instead of sunday service.  ”

Whenever you need a place to stay, just come by. Nico hoped this Daisy chick meant what she’d said on New Year’s. The duffle bag she was holding a transfigured Old Lace in gave a bleat. She’d been rather proud of the spell she’d chosen - a dinosaur in sheep’s clothing - but not so proud of how the spell came to be: with Old Lace nearly banging a hole into her downstairs neighbor’s apartment with her tail. Chase, being in one of his moods, had both caused Old Lace’s distress and not done anything to solve the crisis. So Nico had stepped in and removed the dinosaur from the situation, so to speak. 

She reached for the doorbell, rung it three times fast, and waited. When it creaked open she gave as best a friendly smile she could under her appearance and the circumstances. “Do you mind if, uh, we hide out here for a few hours ‘till shit calms down at mine?” Nico asked sheepishly, gesturing to the baby lamb in her bag. “She doesn’t bite, I promise.” 

      it’s quite possible that daisy doesn’t  think herself as old as she actually is,  but when one hangs around  phil coulson  -  it  JUST HAPPENS,  yeah ?  but what drew daisy to nico,  wasn’t the fact that the girl was on the younger side  -  but  INSTEAD  daisy seeing herself in nico.  her  skye  self;  the one that was  a little bit lost  in her world,  just trying to find herself and do what was right for everyone else,  the one who  just wanted  to help.  so,  daisy gets it.  and in the end,  she just wants to help nico out to the best of her ability,  too.

       dark eyes blink,  widening at the sight of a lamb  -  but wordlessly opening the door wider for the other to come in.   “  . . .   not what i expected for a first visit,  but nonetheless,  i did say you come in anytime.  ”   and she’s not busy,  no shield work on the table  -  she  LOOKS  like a normal adult,  with a normal adult apartment.    “  have a seat wherever.  lil’ lamb can run around too.  make yourself comfortable !  you hungry,  thirsty ?  ”   and god,  she sounds like a cross between a mom,  sister,  aunt,  and grandma !  but she can’t help it.

In this universe, Miles didn’t know Daisy, although that was easy to forget. She looked, sounded and seemed exactly like his old mentor. Over time, it should have been a lot easier to be faced with people that looked exactly like those from your dimension. Unfortunately, he still hadn’t perfected it.

“Hi!” Miles replied, jarring himself from his thoughts about how to behave. “Paperwork definitely doesn’t seem fun. Do you have a lot of it? Right, uh, sorry, I’m Miles — Miles Morales.” He paused and glanced around her office. “I got some info about the Skrulls, but… I don’t want to trust just anybody with it.” Only Tony Stark knew about his history, but he trusted the Daisy of his universe. Judging by appearances, they were damn similar.

      she likes to think that she’s good  with the kids.  well  -  someone on the team had to be,  and the second closest would be either mack or elena.  but daisy wants to give herself some brownie points;  she’s cool with  THE REALM OF SOCIAL MEDIA  too.  being a hacker works out in weird ways.

         “  hey to you too  -  wanna coke or something ?  this place came with a bunch of cool shit,  like a fully stocked mini fridge.  ”   and hell yeah,  would she use it to her advantage.   “  some paper work  -  it gets done when it gets done.  ”   either way,  daisy goes for two cokes;  she’s thirsty too,  and honestly ?  bored of water.  this keeps her head going.    “  alright then,  miles morales  -  ”   she’ll start,  leaning against the edge of her desk.  daisy behind a desk ?  wasn’t much of her thing.    “  talk skrull to me.  ”

“You’re one of the luckiest,” MJ said with a wink. “A digital, alternate world – I’m sorry, what?” Honestly, it wasn’t the weirdest thing she’d ever heard, and that said a hell of a lot these days. “What’s terrigenisis?” MJ asked, stumbling over the word. The hero world was confusing. Honestly, all she understood was the difference between mutants, the Fantastic Four, and humans. At least it was a starting point! “Jessica’s so cool,” she said fondly, thinking about the woman who had trained her to become Spinneret. “That sounds like an absolute nightmare. How does the gaunlet even work? When I was talking to Tony, he said it was something about the shockwaves, but I just let him ramble on.” That was being Tony Stark’s assistant for you: he was constantly trying to fix problems, and MJ loved him for it. “Everyone always freaks out! I thought Pietro was going to kill someone, Johnny was ready to go punch whoever did it, and Gwen acted like the world was going to end. People are so dramatic.” MJ nodded along with the explanation. “It’s cool that you can do some stuff without them though, right? You’re the best superhero.” She grinned at her and asked, “How about tomorrow?”

       “  we call it the framework but  . . .  basically ?  ”   she collapses on one of mj’s seats,  long legs spreading out elegantly.   “  it was some fanfiction,  fandom shit,  man.  seriously;  i was dating an old ex,  i was hydra,  he was shield but in hydra  --  ”   a shake of her head,  the framework did mess with her head for a couple nights.  there were too many  WHAT IFS  and  IF,  IF,  IF  on repeat in the back of her head.  it messed with her just a did.    “  i couldn’t tell you.  that was all fitzsimmons.  they’re the scientist geniuses,  not me.  i just test their product,  let ‘em know what’s wrong,  compliment them,  and drink their rad ass tea.  ”   she’s not totally wrong;  from what daisy can tell,  it’s basically a filt of her powers.    “  they just don’t like change.  and who does ?  at first,  anyways.  ”   god knows it took her a year and a half to grow into herself as daisy johnson,  that was for sure.    “  cool,  a bit painful  -  i’m lucky to have my team,  that’s all i’m saying.  and awh,  mary jane !  ”   she grins widely up at her,  shiny teeth and all.    “  you’re too sweet.  tomorrow sounds like a hell of a plan.  ”

Jessica immediately made a face, felt something sharp and venomous cut through her stomach. “Let’s not. I know what you mean,” she said quickly. It’d seemed like Kilgrave was un-killable too for a while. Sometimes, she worried he really was. That it was only a matter of time before she realized she’d been tricked again. Luckily, Daisy took a shot, and that gave her an excuse to take a shot too. “Hold the goddamn phone,” she said, holding up her empty glass to punctuate her statement. “Goddamn memory erasure? That’s… that’s pretty sick,” she said, raising a brow. “And not like, ironic hipster lingo ‘sick,’ regular old ‘sick.’ Disgusting, terrible, that kind of shit.” She shivered, and picked up the bottle to refill her drink. She poured slowly, sipped slowly, while Daisy spoke. “So… either you’re Captain Planet, or your murderous mother is full of shit?” she asked, arching a brow. She was pretty drunk, but that was about the gist of it. “All right. So Inhumans are different. Maybe,” she said skeptically. “Apparently doesn’t matter to the Skrulls.” 

       if anything,  a sort of relief  flows through her.  if jessica wanted to know  -  she’d tell,  the alcohol was starting to hit her now.  but that doesn’t mean she didn’t know  EXACTLY  what she was doing,  no matter how hazed by the alcohol daisy did get.    “  yeah,  well it was either kill him,  or memory erasure  -  he was pretty sick too.  also in the regular old way.  ”   she has a feeling coulson had some pull with it,  but no need to mention that.    “  they erased the bad  . . .  and all that had to do with it.  me included.  that’ll probably come back to bite us in the as but  . . .  ”   she trails off.  clearly daisy wasn’t the biggest fan;  but it was better than have him not being on this earth,  she supposes.   “  not just me.  all the inhumans.  captain planet,  but together.   -  but hey,  if she was full of shit,  she’d be spreading it for hundreds of years.  ”   a shake of her head,  an almost type pout forming on her lips.   “  at the risk of sounding like a racist,  white republican  -  can’t we just send them back to whatever planet they came from ?  god  -  sometimes i wish the kree succeeded with the inhuman soldiers things.  they probably woulda won  THAT WAR  and killed off the skrull.  in my dreams,  anyways.  one less alien invaders to deal with,  amiright ?  ”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” she promised her, grinning. Daisy definitely deserved to have food brought to her regularly. Now that she had an office with the Panel, Wanda imagined it’d be far easier to do. Since the rules changed, she no longer had to fear going near the building. She laughed as Daisy sniffed her waffles and touched her shoulder affectionately, always one for psychical contact. “I think they definitely can,” Wanda said confidently. “We have Pietro, Clint and Sharon available. They can accomplish anything!” Unfortunately, that might have been an exaggeration, given how the Skrull invasion was going successfully. For a moment, Wanda was going to be optimistic. “That sounds like an amazing idea. I can recommend some younger heroes, too, if you’re open to suggestions.” She smiled fondly at her. “And if you ever need someone to help training them, I’m available.” Wanda nodded along with her, “You can always talk to Bobbi and Jessica about it, yes? They may be open to it, you’re going to be helping people, and making the city safer by teaching them.”

        “  what can i say ?  i’m not a hard gal  to please.  ”  cue a shrug,  she’ll playfully nudge the scarlet witch herself   (  now who else got to do that ?  a select few,  daisy would bet  ).  that  . . .  superhero life,  for a lack of better wording  -  it always made who you trusted a little bit of a harder task than it wasn’t if you were just an ordinary,  every day person.    “  all it takes is a bunch of plans and a little teamwork,  if i say so myself,  hmm ?  ”   even with the little time she had the secret warriors  -  no one could deny that it would’ve worked  -  that  IT DID  work until the whole hive shenanigans went down.  nobody liked  mind controllers,  that was for sure.   “  anything helps,  wands.  i’m always keeping an open mind;  and even i know that i can’t have eyes everywhere.  ”   and the idea of training with wanda sounds fun;  like their own little club !   “  ah,  i dunno about that.  can’t have you getting frisky with johnny mid-training session;  i know how those go,  wands !  ”   cue a wink,  but she’s not lieing  -  she does know how it goes !

“Let’s go to the zoo right now then,” Bucky said with a grin. “We can make it a reality here and now. You might even make it out alive, I’m one hell of a bear fighter.” There was a memory there, somewhere, but it was too ridiculous for Bucky to simply go along with. How could he and a ballerina defeat a bear in Siberia? Clearly, HYDRA had a little too much fun messing around with his brain one of the years.

Bucky shrugged as they walked. He always felt more comfortable like that, constantly moving. It made him feel as if he wasn’t being watched, even if it was a sure fact that at least one person would be looking for the Winter Soldier at any given time. “I wanted to help people,” he replied. “My ma said I could do it without following in Pa’s footsteps, but we were always meant to be soldiers, ya know?” Take the man out of the fight, but you can’t take the fight out of the man – that was the motto the Barnes family lived by, though they were in the war more often than not.

“Nuns?” Bucky repeated, raising an eyebrow as he chewed on his churro. “Ya know, that’s a pretty good impression of the ones I remember.           wanted to help people  -  a familiar line,  isn’t that why she joined the rising tide in the first place ?  isn’t that why she  STAYED  with shield ?  underneath it all,  daisy truly saw all the good they could do.  and she only wanted to be a part of that  -  to help the people who needed it the most.    “  some things you just can’t deny,  huh ?  ”   like how she couldn’t deny that she was inhuman,  had the power to  shake the world  down;  it was what you did with it,  after all.  and a pause  - :   “  so,  you were a soldier ?  ”   she always paid attention to detail.

          “  oh yeah  -  st.  anges.  the nuns practically raised me  --  ”   a wave of her hand;  she’s told the story so many times,  it shouldn’t bother her as much as it does.  at least daisy was better at hiding it.  and it helped not telling anything.  a mischievous grin pops on her lips,  curling at the corners.    “  my stockings were always ripped,  always had bleeding cuts on my arms,  and chances were  -  some  piece of nature  got in my hair.  it’s probably the reason why i stopped my prayers after i hit the age of sixteen.  --  i’m sure the pretty girls didn’t mind;  what pretty girl  actually enjoyed  sunday church,  anyways ?  ”   pretty boys,  sure;  matt murdock always did know how to make an impression.

Typically, he only broke them out for weddings and funerals – the latter being far more common in his line of work – but he’d felt like looking nice for this party. It was a decision he definitely regretted now. “Hey, at least I’m a semi-intelligent monkey! That’s more than I can claim as a person,” he snorted, flashing her a playful grin. “Fitz is Coulson’s Scottish kid, right? The one who was always pushin’ new guns at me and trying to make me shoot tiny targets?” Clint said ‘trying’ as if he hadn’t taken the kid up on his offer and hit the damn target every single time which wasn’t exactly true. What? He had exactly one marketable skill that wasn’t illegal, and he was gonna show it off!

        “  are you a monkey ?  asking for science  -  more importantly,  fitz.  ”   it was an important question !   kind of,  anyways.    “  but you look good.  no fucking around there.  ”   it’s all honesty from daisy johnson here !  not that she ever lied  . . .  much.    “  oh,  definitely.  i mean,  shield thinks you’re smart enough for a gun.  that’s gotta mean something somewhere,  right ?  ”   daisy asks with an easy wink,  picking up a glass of champagne from a passing by waiter.    “  that’s the one.  basically been my little brother since day one  -  but don’t tell him that,  he’ll deny it and say i was crushing back on him at the beginning too.  you should be encourage it,  to be honest.  i bet soon enough if you just ask him for a new weapon,  he’ll make it for you.  ”
