From a Balance Beam | Zitao & Sulli
Sulli. Zitao had heard the name before, but as he stood on the beam high above the female in the center of the ring, he searched his brain for the details. There were many people in the circus and he had only met a handful of them, afraid to approach most of the performers because of the language barrier that made interactions particularly difficult. It was something about his pronunciation that put him at a disadvantage because he was sure that he knew many of the basic words needed for communication, but they always provoked an odd stare from the Korean natives when they came out of his mouth. There was no other explanation.
After a long pause and some memory searching, he found the description that he was looking for amongst the others that he had yet to meet. The female waiting for his answer was the performer with wings, and he squinted down at her, hoping to catch a glance at the extremities that he had been told about, completely enthralled by the idea. If there was one thing that was cooler than travel by portal, it was flight, as it reminded him of the comic books that he had often read as a child. He chuckled at the thought of the small figure in the center of the ring fighting crime in her off time from the tent, a circus performer moonlighting as a super hero.
âSulli!â Zitao repeated her name loudly, flicking his tongue as the second syllable left his lips. âHuang Zitao! Nice to meet you!â he continued, hands still firmly grasping the pole that was keeping him from tumbling to his doom. âWings, right? Flight?â
Narrowing her eyes at the empty tent, she scratched the back of her head in thought. It must have been here imagination. But once she heard her name repeated, Sulli looked up, finally being able to make out the source of the male voice - and definitely confused of the rather awkward position the other was in, she let out a surprised and pretty audible gasp. He was at the top of the center of the ring, holding onto a pole
"Y-yeah, wings! But what are you doing up there? Isn't that dangerous?" she exlaimed, a worried look on her face. It seemed extremely dangerous to her, and just looking up there made her feel a little dizzy already. Being up that high without any securities seemed risky enough and Sulli quickly took a few steps back to be able to look at him better. "Are you okay? Should I call help?"
As she waited for his response, she kept looking up, trying to make out if he was fine. There wasn't really anything she herself could do to help him get down there and it got her slightly nervous. Of course, she could just get up there if she wanted to, but it would take her a lot of energy and, moreover, she wouldn't even be able to lift him. Her wings hardly could carry her own weight, so the idea of playing savior would definitely turn out to be a failure.
