Careful Steps || Jaehyo & Hyoyeon
After a nice long night out, Jaehyo was quite surprised to find himself back in his tent that morning, headache pounding in his temples. So he drank quite a bitâŚthat was expected. Being alone, however, that had him breathe a sigh of disappointment; so much for making his first night in Gwangju memorable. Honestly, even if he had slept with someone and just couldnât remember it, that wasnât exactly much better. What use were memories if you couldnât access them?
Groaning to himself, he sat up in bed and ran a hand through his messy bed, eyes squinting painfully in the bright light as he recalled they were back on normal peopleâs time for a few days. That would be aggravating to switch back and forth from, but he couldnât pretend like it wasnât always like that, so he would adapt and adapt back, like he had already done so many times before. And he couldnât lie; it was nice to run on the same clock as everybody in the rest of the world for once, rather than against them. Being born a freak was tally enough, really, sleeping schedule didnât need to make anything worse for him.
Standing up and staggering a bit, he moved over to his things to draw out a bottle of aspirin, taking two pills dry to help the throbbing in his temples. Then he gathered some clothes and went to go off to bathe himself, feeling the need to get sweat and whatever else off of him, cause he couldnât remember if there would be anything on him or not. Either way, the warm water felt fantastic, and it did wonders for clearing up his headache, the aspirin working nice and fast alongside it. By the time he was clean shaven and on his way back to his tent, he looked damn cheery, his normal playful grin stretched across his features.
Reaching his tent once more, he pushed inside without stopping to call out his arrival âbecause really, they were all men and it was nothing he hadnât seen before- and blinked when he saw a head of long, pretty blonde hair over by Daesungâs cot. Damn! How did Dae get so lucky?! She was hot from all that he could see, and Jaehyo was being less than subtle about checking her out since her back was to him, but something about the girl just seemedâŚfamiliar. A cirque girl? Before he had the chance to legitimately ponder that, the familiarity of her smacked him upside the head and he realized that this was Hyoyeon, in here for whatever reason. Of course. How could he have forgotten that?
Recalling the warnings dished out by the man about her, his cheeks colored resentfully as he tastefully retracted his thoughts and went to put the clothes he had slept in the night before in his dirty clothes pile, mentally noting that heâd have to do laundry soon. âAh,â he cleared his throat, feeling like it would be too weird if she just turned around and he was there, âHey. You waiting around for Daesung, or something?â Jaehyoâs voice sounded rather strained in his attempt to behave himself physically and mentally, but he really didnât need the prankster on his case, so he would have to try. Ah, why had he spoken up at all?! This was all too much trouble, and who knew if the aspirin would hold through thisâŚ
