Chrom’s strength comes from his bonds with people and their trust in him. Hearing Lucina’s words fueled the King with determination and power he could topple a mountain if he wished. These very words made him continue on despite life’s hurdles and obstacles.
That determination soon was replaced with a bashful demeanor once his agenda was exposed. “Er, come now. It’s not like I will feed her that now. Even I know that much…” a little pout, pretending he was hurt. Honestly, he would not have it against her if she was protective. God only knows what he is doing to her young counterpart–all that bear meat and hunting and sword training. He told her she deserves more than a sword and he intends to make sure it is not just that. He wants to experience every little and big thing with her. In a way, it is his way of atoning for his future self’s failure. He owe it to his little daughter that he should be a good father. He did promise this Lucina to be always there for her young counterpart. They are both so precious to him.
The energy in here! As if he is watching a mini version of Lissa! G-Gods, forbid that…His little Astrid should not grow up to be a prankster like her his little sister. She can take all the good qualities but not that, please Naga.
“Haha, worry not, dear. We’ll go easy on you, eh?” he winks at the kids. “The game is easy!” he clapped his hands, turned to look around and get his bearings. “We should move to somewhere spacious, don’t you think? For this game, one will count to 100 and –er one hunderd sound a bit hard for you guys–let’s count to 20 yeah? Can you count to that? or ten. really. just uh, um,” Naga’s grace, how should he explain this when he makes this complicated. “A-ahem, so we go like this,” he placed his hands against his eyes and faced the wall, “We count as many as you can and then–” he looks back at them, “the rest of us will go hide somewhere. It’s called Hide and seek, do you know it?” maybe he should have started with the name and maybe that would have saved him the trouble explaining if they already know it. Sometimes…he wonder why can’t he think before speaking.
✦ They can’t help but almost wiggle in excitement, the idea of running around for a game was certainly something they were looking forward too. For a moment, Lucina almost feels a little bad that she is able to play with them like she used too, but their younger sibling needs taking care of also.
Hide and Seek sounds like a fun game, and after their grandfather’s rather confusing explanation for how to play, Astrid is almost bouncing around his feet, crying out in excitement that she is going to win. Lucina can’t help but smile at her excited babies, rocking the youngest in her arms to try and keep her calm. ❝ Father, I hope your plan is to wear them out for the evening, otherwise they will be leaping around you all night. ❞
She’s joking of course... maybe...
❝ I want to go first!!! ❞ Astrid cries out again, running to the wall and holding her hands over her eyes. For counting... she’s not the best... but she gets the idea that if she holds her hands over her eyes for long enough then people can hide. With a tiny shy smile on his face, Caiden looks up at his Grandfather before pressing a finger to his lips. Being a quiet young man, this was surely a game he would be much better at. ❝ Don’t let her catch you. ❞
The blue haired boy quickly scrambles for the bushes, hoping to hide there before his twin sister could possibly find him. Lucina knows what she has gotten herself involved into, a game that will be much harder while having to hold a baby in her arms. Making sure Astrid isn’t peaking behind those tiny fingers of hers, the Queen slowly moves around the wall, hiding behind the corner in hopes that she won’t be the first to be caught out.
