fuujinyumi:
The ballroom wasn’t exactly his favorite place in the museum. Takumi has never enjoyed formal events, and Hoshido has never been known for its balls, either. He knew of them from Nohr, of course, but never had any intention of attending one. Nohr was the enemy, after all, and they weren’t going to be getting cozy anytime soon.
Here… Was different, he guesses. No threat of war, or anything, and the people here don’t seem quite so stuffy.. Mostly just average people who’d wandered into the museum. Plus, they’d let him wear a kimono! So, he decides the ballroom isn’t too terrible, and he finds himself returning… In the day, anyway, so he can avoid all the ballroom dancing stuff he doesn’t know how to do. (There had been much feet stepping when he’d attempted, and it’d been far too embarrassing.)
He’s scanning the nearby people when he sees an… Unexpectedly familiar face. And not in the pleasant way, like it’d been with family.
One of Prince Leo’s retainers…? He definitely doesn’t trust this, not in the least, but he can’t make a scene in a ballroom of all places, and not with all these people around. And anyway, from the other’s reaction, he doesn’t seem to be in any immediate danger. Instead, he approaches cautiously for now—Perhaps this fellow is equally unwilling to cause any trouble.
“One of Prince Leo’s retainer’s… Right?” he ascertains, “I sure hope you’re not planning anything! … Prince Leo isn’t here, is he?” (He sure hopes Prince Leo isn’t here. That guy is totally insufferable.)
A laugh passes over his lips, though he hopes the shocked uncertainly in it is well masked.
Quite honestly, Owain never thought he’d see someone from Nohr or Hoshido again, even if he wanted to. It was a world that was not his own, people who didn’t know the true him, even if he considered many of them dear companions. At the very least, back in Ylisse, the tales of Nohr and Hoshido were told in children’s tales...which was rather startling when he had initially found himself in said world.
He was definitely worried that the people would be cross with him should he ever see them again, that was certain, but it seemed...Takumi made no note of his sudden disappearance? Perhaps that was for the best.
“I find myself most honored that you remember me, Lord Takumi! And correct you are - I am Ow-” Ah, wait. He probably shouldn’t give his true name away still. That wasn’t who Takumi knew him as, and they had never been particularly...close. At least he could mask his blunder as a dramatic pause.
“...Odin Dark! Retainer to Lord Leo, as you so correctly remembered!”
A grin stayed plastered on his face as he went on to offer his signature pose to the other, arm outstretched. Rather unfortunate he had to stray from his true signature pose once more, but it was a sacrifice he could make.
“As far as I am aware, my Lord Leo has not yet found himself in this realm. An unfortunate revelation to come of us, but I hold out hope that he shall join us soon!”
“For what I am planning, however...a gallery of this size deserves to have many displays of art, wouldn’t you agree? I had thought I might offer one of my favorite forms for those who held an interest!”
