Here's something for you to think about: Me
A leaderâs duty (Closed - Nana)
With some very interesting and valid truths having been found at this point through the work of their leadership duties: the impostor felt that theyâd probably kept sir Nero waiting long enough: but boy, was this âtruthâ they had to reveal to Nero a doozy. Something very shocking and game-changing as far as matters would go: and something that would probably help them in offering services to the masses through the club intended, too.
However, it was evident that any meeting-up with Nero would have to be put on hold, as a familiar voice rang out through the crisp winter air. Clearly incensed, in argument: and following the incessant noise gave no surprises. It was that girl theyâd wanted to keep an eye on, arguing with a raven-like demon?
<I donât care if youâre oneâa those contract signers, missy, there is no way, even if I AM a delivery demon, Iâm going into the Veil and getting little baubles for ya! What do I look like, some all-powerful demon who can DO that?! Besides that, whatâs so say youâd keep yer end of the bargain? Youâd high-tail it away as soon as I gave the trreasure to ya, nevermore to be seen.>
âŚThey really shouldnât have been surprised the girl asked a demon to do that. Stepping forth, they cleared their throat to alert the two to their presence.
âNana, what exactly is going on here? I understand the desire to gather things of value better than most, but surely the little âtrinketsâ the demons usually want in exchange for services arenât worth that much.âÂ
Unless there were bigger treasures to be found, but though theyâd kept a sharp ear out for things like that themselves, for the sake of making Neroâs clubâŚso far, nothing on that front.
âYeah, yeah! The Veil is full of stuff like that, but no one ever goes to collect it so it just sits there.â The Yaksini hummed while trying to remember more about the Veil. . . Â âI remember! A while back, one of the Halphas came in here to make a deposit, he said that he was scouting the Veil for a lost Jack Frost and instead he finds this stash of coin and jewelry! How lucky right? ... We still never heard about the missing Frost though.â
The woman shrugged, âBut you should ask them to get some for you, isnât it sort of their job to do stuff like that?â While the tip was helpful, she failed to mention a very important detail about Halphas.
. . .
Nana shook her head in frustration, from the time she wasted trying to pursue the raven she couldâve gone and gotten the treasure herself. They had been bickering away for the last hour, but no matter what she said he wouldnât budge at all. Between endless exclamations of his hatred of humans and unwavering denials, it was obvious that he wasnât going to be of any help.
âYou must think Iâm an idiot! I know your kind and I know that youâre all the same: crooks and thieves. There is no way Iâm going into that Veil, especially for some human.â
She didnât even notice the heir until he stepped into the conversation. âOh, itâs just you. Just business matters is all, weâre unfortunately not seeing eye to eye here as you can tell. I already promised him the inital reward and itâs only set so low because I would also be accompanying him. As well, if we found any treasure, we would split it up. I have no intentions on betraying him or whatever delusional idea he has about me. But he wonât listen to a thing I say.â She wasnât exactly swimming in gold here, the Vault only paid so much. Despite having the entire townâs savings in the building, their pay was embarrassingly meager. ( Well, to her standards they are. ) âIâm happy to negotiate, but he wonât settle on anything I offer. If anything, I think itâd be easier for me to go on my own.â Noticing that another human had joined the conversation, Halphas almost blew a fuse, but was surprised to hear this one agree with him.
âGood to see someone here has some common sense even a stinkinâ human like him can see that your deal is no good. Besides, 4 rubies and an emerald ainât gonna cut it! What if we donât find any treasure, huh? Iâd just be risking my feathers for just an hourâs pay! No deal! You can go chase death on your own!â With that the bird flew away, blending into the night sky above them.
âIâm sorry you had to see that. But I suppose it was foolish of me to consider enlisting in their help anyways, especially when the first three already rejected my offer.â She shrugged, wasnât the first time someone yelled in her face before. âI guess my business is done for tonight, but what about you, Togami? What are you doing out so late?â
WHO THE FUCK GAVE THE MOTHMAN A GUN
âIs that so, very reassuring indeed.â Despite her words, she still didnât trust him with the gun. This really wasnât a good first impression for her, now all she thinks of him as the weirdo with experience of killing and no fear of doing so. Not exactly someone one would want to shop with for guns. But if he did try to kill her, there are plenty of witnesses around to report him. âIf you donât like guns, then perhaps you should try a different type of weapon. Youâre in a weapons shop after all, there must be something here that you must like. Do you even have any money? These look expensive.â Her eyes wandered to the price tag hanging off the handle of an axe, â15 sapphires?! What kind of-!!?â The shopkeeper heard her outburst and started to glare at the two, now suspecting them of thievery or having no intentions of even buying anything. She tugged on his sleeve to get his attention, âUh, just how exactly do you plan on paying for these weapons though?  I donât think they take regular currency here.â
Minato couldnât help but think the woman didnât sound very reassured, but he didnât react. It was fair enough; he felt a little on edge himself, surrounded by so many weapons. He tried to just listen to her suggestions; the reason he was here was to consider a different type of weapon, but perhaps heâd been too hasty to jump to the gun (heh, that almost sounded like jump the gun - not the time for that,). Heâd automatically thought of it as a good choice because it was the one he himself feared the most, but maybe heâd overlooked something. There were other long-range weapons, after all.
âAny specific suggestions, in that case? I donât know all that much about weapons, even though I probably should.â Last time around, he had Officer Kurosawa for advice, and all heâd needed to know was everyoneâs weapon preferences.
He ignored her outburst as well, though the sudden noise was vaguely alarming. âIâm planning, for now. A lot of the demons here will exchange goods for services, and I want to know whose favor I should be seeking.â It wouldnât do to spend his time assisting someone who couldnât help him in return, not when he felt sorely lacking and was so limited in how much he could do.
âThereâs a lot of options around us so itâs not like you have any limits beyond just money. Since you took a gun, I assume you wanted a long distance weapon. How about a bow? Or a slingshot?â She shrugged, to her every weapon was the same so it was odd to how long he was taking to pick something, they all do the same thing in the end. âIâm not exactly an expert, just keep looking until you find something nice.â Her plans for upgrading to a better weapon were crushed, but it was better than having nothing at all. The piece of shit she got was absolutely horrible, she had no experiences with swords, it was heavy as hell and the only way of carrying it was with the belt it came with and carrying a ten pound piece of metal around her hip wasnât exactly ideal here. But it was going to be her piece of shit for now. The sound of the price didnât seem to phase him at all, he didnât seem to be worried about anything at all.; what she would do to be just as carefree as he. âMaybe you could just find a job instead? Some places around here are hiring, I think this place is too. Consider it, you might get some discounts if youâre a good employee.â

Adachi: hi! Me: i know what the fuck youre doing you cant fool me
âA lot of things can make holes in people, like a knife or a pencil if you try hard enough.â Nana pulls out a gun from her coat pocket, âA nice Jacket Flossies gave this to me as thanks for giving him ice cream. But Iâm not familiar with fireworks in general, but you seem to.â She holds it out for him to take, âHey, how about you show me how it works?â
âYouâre very right, nyahaha! Lots of delightful ways to do it, Iâm glad you noticed!â he liked to think he was something of a connoisseur of putting holes in people, so when she hands over the pistol he takes it gratefully. Henry holds it out, runs his hand down the chamber and barrel, pokes a finger into the endâhis tongue sticks out as he tries to figure it out. Heâd never been much of a smith, so little mechanisms like this were always a fun puzzle he had to beat his head against a few times!Â
âAhh, looks like this thing rotates, and this one moââ
The firework went off! He barely flinches, though the noise and kickback were otherwise pretty surprising. Â Something red begins to seep into the snow beneath his foot, dying it. Henry stares with a dumb smile, head swimming with flushing cheeks when he realized just what it was.Â
âOooooohâŚ.mmm, look at all of thatâŚâÂ
Nana watched curiously as the dark mage handled the gun. She was a rich kid so she never had to deal with weapons, this was all completely new to her. âI canât wait to see what a nice picture itâll make!â
While he fearlessly shot a HOLE through his foot, she flinched and almost screamed at the sight. âHey! Youâre supposed to shoot it in the air, not in your foot!â Even if he was just setting an example, that was a waste of a perfectly good firework!
âYouâre getting the ground dirty too!â It was already dirty, but she liked the sight of the clean white snow, but now it was ruined by the red coming out from his foot. âThis is the worse fireworks display ever.â
[[ Closed with thecabbageprince ]] Reaching for the Shimmering Shape in Vain
Her frequents at the lodgeâs cafe was not for show. The coffee was fantastic, the servers were attentive, considerate and always up for a chat, and the sponge cakes were to die for. But the best time to come was at night, when it was just her, the moon, and the steam from her coffee and sometimes, the servers would gossip about the latest happenings: who did what and what was going on in the underground. Typically the cafe was quiet around that time, but today it was bursting with the rapid, scared murmurs of of the servers.
âThat really didnât happen, right?â âWhy did you tell me that!? I have to walk home you knowâŚ..â âThereâs a lot of kids staying hereâŚ..Youâd think one of them might disappear too..?â
And with that comment, the back room exploded with the shrill screams before turning back into hushed whispers again. It was rude to eavesdrop, but this was important information that could not be missed!
However, her efforts were necessary as the usual waitress came over to her table. âYou come here a lot, huh? You must really like our coffee!â The waitress smiled as she refilled her cup, âYou know those kids everyone was talking about earlier? Well, it turns out you can also see a guy leading them in there too and sometimes you can hear laughing! Spooky, right? But excuse the noise, we have some new employees tonight. Anyways, thatâs just the word on the street. Have a nice night!â As the waitress walked to the back room, most likely to scold the employees in the back for being so loud. Nana had already made up her mind, she would go to the veil and see what was causing the sightings.
__
That night she prepared herself for going into the Veil, sword safely hanging on her waist, layered clothes so she couldnât get cold, and some food just in case. Though she didnât have a persona to protect herself with yet, she was confident that with a sabre would be enough to keep danger at bay. On the edge of their town, a furious snowstorm was blowing. It created a barrier between them and the unknown that lied ahead. With the sun shining so clearly in the day, she was certain she would be able to see the rumored children. Everything was planned out and she was just about to make her first step until something pulled her back., some person sheâs never seen before was grabbing her arm. âWho do you think youâre grabbing? Unhand me!â She was struggling to get her arm out of the manâs grip, âLet go of me, youâre impeding on important matters!â
âOh man,â A sigh escaped him as the bored cop patrolled through the snowy streets of the town. It was just passed dusk, and still nothing of actual importance had happened today to amuse him. Youâd think in a town full of demons and persona users, thereâd be some fun to be had.
After joining the zombie police task force, Adachi had hoped heâd be able to see some kind of action going around, maybe even clear some of the guilty conscience he still had left floating around in his mind.
âThis is worse than the booniesâŚâ He muttered under his breath as he twirled his pistol between his fingers, walking through some of the back alleys and out to the perimeter of the town, where the Veil was. All those rumors about children and some man taking them in⌠Boy was he glad no one suspected him of that, not again at least.
Wait⌠There was someone standing at the outskirts, were they about to go in??
Before he knew it, Adachi had already run up and grabbed the girlâs arm, before she could wander in alone.
âH-Hey! Pipe down, will ya?â She had immediately struggled against him as he held her back. It seemed like it was one of those brats trying to charge out into the unknown again, didnât they know that was dangerous by themselves?
âHey Kid, itâs not very safe to go in there alone, you know? Why donât you do us both a favor and leave this to the adults,â He warned the girl, turning her around to face him. Wow, she was pretty for a kid - hopefully he wouldnât have to murder her like the others.
âMaybe, I wouldnât be screaming in the first place if youâs just approached me normally!â From the sound of the voice, this was definitely a man. A grown man. Fear shot up her spine and the familiar bloated feeling had settled in her stomach at last. Her worse nightmare was happening right now. This was the last thing she wanted to happen, she was ok with having to work with men and having to talk to them, but at least there was going to be distance between them. This? There was no distance. Everything she knew about being a calm, sophisticated young lady flew out the window. Where he was touching her felt like someone just poured sulfuric acid on it, she was shaking under his hand. To be touched by a man was so.. Disgusting. Considering so many of them were repulsive, noxious creatures, could anyone blame her for being upset?
When he forced her to face him did she finally get his hand off her. The area felt dirty, she was definitely taking a shower when she was getting back. Ignoring whatever he said, she immediately went back to screaming. âWho the hell are you? I should report you right now for harassment of a minor, you creep!â Her words mightâve had more impact if her accent hadnât slipped out. Now she just sounded like a 12 year old trying to talk back to their mom, but despite this she kept hurling insults one after another, âMongrel! Dirty rodent! Who do you think you are touching me? Iâll make sure you rot in jail!â
