I’ve sent 3 emails asking for references for a scholarship application and I’ve filled out most of the application..

Now all I need to do is a 500 word personal statement- I have 400 words written but it’s just not looking the way I want it to and I need it to be convincing because there’s only 3 scholarships available.

Basically if I want to be able to move out in September I need to get this scholarship. I won’t find out until April or later but I need to submit the application in the next 2 weeks or so

I know I’m probably keeping my hopes too high but if I want to move out it’s kind of my only option other than using all of my savings and hoping for a miracle

Thursday:

Got my booster vaccine

Booked my mom in for her booster and let her know so she could come down straight after me

Collected my prescription

Filled in and sent off the paper copy of my medical card application

Organized lunch plans because my dad was meant to come up to my moms house for lunch

Visited my granny and sorted out her car tax

Helped my sister set up her new phone for Christmas

Sponsorship and fundraising training

Secretary training and test at the end

Secondary sponsorship training and quiz

I should get a digital badge for each of the trainings which will be handy and look good on my CV (they should also help me apply for a bursary for next year)

I feel really odd not studying or working, it’s nice to have a day off but idk what to do with myself for the next month

Tuesday:

So Ik I won’t be adding to this every day over the holidays and I’ll start from 0 again in January but here’s what I did today:

fake Christmas with my mom and partner:

Did fake Christmas morning and exchanged gifts with my mom, sister and partner

Cooked a turkey and a ham, mash and roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, peas, Brussels sprouts, Yorkshire puddings and gravy- my first time ever cooking Christmas dinner and it was great

Made rocky road

Bleached and dyed my hair

Saturday:

Got up at 7am and packed my bag for my moms house

Got to work for 8:45 and did all the usual jobs

Sorted out the band and car parking for the 2 weddings we had in work today

Covered the lunch breaks for the shop and sorted out some issues for them

Had to wait like an hour for my bus but i made it home and put on my new Christmas pyjamas

Friday:

Well my final exam is in an hour and I haven’t been able to focus all day

Re watched 6 lectures while doodling

Read through some of my notes

Proofread a notes file to make sure all the info was right

Made friends with a cat outside the library

Drew the brain for neuro

I’m about to do my final exam

After my exam I’ll go to work

After work I have family dinner before my dads gf goes away for Christmas so I get to do a bit of gift giving

Thursday:

Tomorrow is my last exam/ day of term and then I’m done until the 17th of January!!

Tf am I going to do for 4 weeks??? Everything is semesterised so I can’t study and work is closed for 3+ weeks over Christmas so I’ll have nothing to do?

But on the bright side, I’m totally prepared for tomorrow’s exam so today I:

Visited my granny and brought her some books she asked me to pick up for her

Met my boyfriend for an hour because u haven’t seen him in a few days

Worked through my payslip because I got paid for a 30 hour week instead of a 20 hour week and Idk if it’s because they paid me for the days we were off due to the storm or if it’s supposed to be my annual leave pay (if it’s my annual leave then they still owe me ~€50) so I’ll have to wait and see what my payslip is like next week before I say anything

Went through my finances because I’m really hoping to have a good bit saved by New Years- I got my bursary a few weeks ago so if I have €9,000 saved by New Years I’ll be delighted with myself (it would mean I could move out next year and not have to move between 2 houses every 3-4 days because of split custody)

Flipped through my notes for tomorrow but realized there’s really nothing more I can do to prep

Looked for past papers for neuro to see if I could do them as practice

When its only 9:40pm and you’ve already done a full days study, an exam, an entire day/night out, a mental breakdown and all the normal stuff you fit in to a day and now all you want is to peacefully fall in to a 12-15 hour coma

Wednesday:

got up at 7 and prepped my lunch and packed my bag to go to my dads house

Dropped off my bag, picked up a portable charger from work (they’re giving them away free to staff)

Got to the library for 8:30

Worked through practice questions on water, enzymes, proteins, carbs, lipids and nucleotides and added them to my notes as I worked through them

Stopped for lunch at 11:30 and got back to the library for 12 to do some more work before my exam

Will update after the exam, wish me luck, hopefully it goes smoothly

Oh god of gods that exam was awful, must say it was the most confusing exam of my life, barely got through it. But I think between guessing, it being online and the continuous assessment portion, I think I still got above 70%. Hopefully anyway (I won’t find out until January)

Went for a few drinks with my friend group (had 4 Jameson and coke and 3 captain Morgan’s), somehow managed to only pay €27 for the 7 drinks and I am absolutely steamed on my way home now

Good luck to me acting sober once I get home, honestly am typing in the hopes that it will sober me up but it’s not really working. Anyway as long as I don’t get given out to it’s fine. 27 euro for the night is less than €5 a drink and I can’t remember the last time I was this drunk without passing out so we’re doing well.

I have plenty work to do tomorrow but none of it needs to be done tonight so I can go home and sleep thank god

Tuesday:

Did a practice test on section B for tomorrow

Typed up corrections and converted them to a quizlet file

Converted the rest of my notes to quiz let flashcards (1080 flashcards)

Wrote out the key point and formulae for my exam as one sheet so I can find them easily

Worked through some sample equations

Sent an email to find out about the status of my refund application for surgery

Sorted out a few details for my class as class rep

Finally wrapped my head around more of the course so I’m prepped for tomorrow

Honestly idek what else I can do to prepare for tomorrow, I’ve put in a massive amount of work and honestly I don’t think there’s anything else I can do other than more practice questions that will help me

Worked through a load of questions on water, buffers, pH, amino acids and proteins and added them to my word document

⚗️ Day 87/100 productivity ⚗️

Monday:

slept in because I was working yesterday

Got up at 12 and got a lift to work

Did half an hour of study before work- did a practice exam paper with 18 questions and got 61% so I definitely need to improve before Wednesday but I’m fairness I wasn’t using my notes or the formulas so I think I can get to 70% if I actually focus during the exam

Did a 6 hour shift in work then headed home

Typed up corrections for 20 practice questions and sorted through some files so they’re all in order

Looked in to selling my notes online but none of the websites seem great so I’m not sure what the best way to do it is

Sunday:

Went to work for 9am and did all the jobs on the jobs list by 10am

Sat down and did some study in work since there was no manager in and there was nothing to do because it was quiet

Did notes on my last lecture for biochem and added them to the Google doc

Did out 4 sets of questions for biochem in the word document

My word count is 13,000 words but I have the entire course for both subjects done so all I have left to do is practice questions

Met my partner for dinner and drinks then brought him to the Christmas display in town

They f-ed up our bill a few times in the restaurant, it was supposed to be €60 but the first bill they brought down was for €15 (and my boyfriend told them it was wrong so they went and fixed it), they came back with a bill for €72 where €11 was invoiced but then charged us €72 so I had to ask him to cancel the payment and put it in right (shouldn’t be an issue because I hadn’t put in my pin yet but somehow the payment had gone through anyway so he gave me the difference in cash instead) but overall it was a good night

Saturday:

Worked through some more enzymes notes- really struggling with this chapter even tho it’s shorter

Went to the Christmas market and got lunch then did some Christmas shopping

Dropped my boyfriend to work

Picked up some stuff for my nan

Finally got through the rest of my enzymes notes, uploaded them to a shared Google doc (though I feel I’ll regret it because I’ve done 11,000+ words and the person I’m sharing it with has done ~2,000 so we’ll see..)

Worked through half of my notes on nucleotides

I have work at 9am tomorrow and I only have one more lecture to get through for my notes so I’m planning to do that at my lunch break tomorrow hopefully

I’m meeting my boyfriend after work for dinner and Christmas stuff so I probably won’t do a whole lot of study tomorrow but sundays are my day off anyway so it’s ok!

Got to campus for 8:30am

Worked through enzyme notes for most of the morning, bringing my word count to 10,000

Went back and edited all of the other sections and converted them to quizlet flash cards

Went to work and covered someone shift then did my own shift

Got home and did more work on my enzymes notes
