@excellentbloodâ // cont. from here
he didnât want to be alone tonight. this was a welcome change , even if it came quick and abrupt. it made kaeya struggle with a response, he didnât know why albedo all of a sudden felt the need to stay with him when he usually pulled all-nighters in his lab instead. kaeya bit on his tongue to not say something stupid or offending for once. he still had to let the chief alchemist inside his home though, he noticed, and stepped aside. âdid jean send you? she noticed the bags under my eye and didnât stop bothering me about it.â
he let out a sigh and walked inside his home, abode, cave.. kaeya didnât quite know how to name it ever since he lost grasp of tidying it up. it looked like a mess. just like he did probably.
âanyway, if you find a place to sit be my guest. iâll cook something up for dinner.â
Calm, almost calculating eyes rest on the other captain, even though those who really knew him might be able to see the worry that lay hidden beneath. Albedo never had claimed to be good with human emotions. And even worse with showing them. But still⌠even he had realized that something seemed to be wrong with the other one.Â
âIt wasnât Jean, no.â he replied in the end, raising an eyebrow slightly. If even the Acting Grand Master had realized so much over all the work she was doingâŚÂ  âKlee mentioned you seem sad lately.â he added after a while. His little sister probably was the one who spend the most time with Kaeya currently after all. Even more time than she was spending with him right now, but that was more his own fault with staying most of the time up on Dragonspine.Â
Catching a first look at the inside of the otherâs home, the feeling that something wasnât okay got only stronger, but it seemed like Kaeya tried to distract him from that topic all too soon.Â
âDinner sounds great.â he decided eventually. After all that would mean that Kaeya too would eat something and the archons knew, the other one needed it more than Albedo himself did.Â
And maybe⌠maybe he could clean at least a bit in the mean time, if only to find a place to sit, as Kaeya said himself.Â
âAh, so the little firecracker. How is she? I havenât seen her the past two days because, I meanâ Kaeya turns around, opening his arms widely as if showing the state of his home, âYou get it.â
It wasnât hard to see anyway. And the clothes he wore had seen better days too. There were bandages around his fingers, bags under his eyes you could even see on his dark skin. Kaeya was exhausted and he looked the part. He hasnât brushed his hair in days.Â
Turning around he simply whipped up a batter for pancakes with the last ingredients he had at home. Not completely unaware of what Albedo was doing to his humble abode. He wasnât sure if he should be offended or glad though. Kaeya wasnât sure how to feel about lots of tings lately. Or how he was supposed to feel about his lack of feelings or emotions regarding pretty much anything. âSay, âBedo.â he started but stopped again. He had to steel himself for this it seemed. Taking a deep breath he put plates on the table that miraculously had been cleaned of the stuff he put on it.Â
âDo you ever feel not.. welcome here?â
