It was :)

Evan this is for YOU ;)
Why do you hide your face in most of your photos?
It started as a joke between my roomie and I - now it's just for fun. It's hard to continuously think of new ways to do it...
Ideas anyone?!? If it's good I'll use it...
And I already know what 95% of these responses will be...
Hi there! I'm looking for the perfect pair of brown leather wingtips (for under $200). What do you recommend?
Aldo has some great options. These are affordable and stylish - but might not last forever. THESE Ben Sherman for Topman's are my favorite and only $170! And these Cole Haan's are not exactly wing tips - but beautiful!
i sweat like a pig in the summer. any recommendations on good ways to hide it while still looking good?
Lightweight Cotton Shirts (like these) or short sleeve button ups (like this) are great options... Also - if possible - try to carry a light jacket with you at all times to throw on when you enter buildings... this helps cover up the inevitable back sweat stain (yeah I said it). You can also keep your entire body cool by wearing light weight shorts and ditching the socks when you need to wear shoes (yes - this will smell later). Light weight madras shirts are also great options as they are specifically designed to draw heat from the body. If all else fails - do what I do - tank tops :)

I'll call you, "The Hotness"
Why I hate auto-correct...
Just texted my dad this:
"Thanks! Sorry, I meant to call u this weekend, but got busy..."
For reasons unknown to me, my phone auto-corrects "busy" to "bjs"
His response:
"Oh. Good job."
UGH!
What I Wore to Work Today: Stars and Stripes Edition (sans stars) - As I warned a few months back, horizontal stripes are the next step in the evolutionary track of the button-up. They're a definite statement piece, so you won't have to dress it up much. Keep it simple.
Shirt: J.Crew Striped Button Down $78 - If you're going to jump on the horizontal train (too much?), make sure the stripes are a basic color (blue or white) and are not too wide (or else it will look to much like a rugby). Urban has this great option and ASOS has this awesome version. Choose wisely.
Pants: Seven For All Mankind Slimmy Raw Indigo Jeans $100 (thanks Filene!) - when your shirt is striped avoid whiskering, distressing or ‘wear and tear’ lines in your denim.
Shoes: J.Crew MacAlister Boots $138 - any shoes will work here really... just avoid sneakers - it will take the outfit to a different place. And not a good place.
My stuffed sheep friend also made the pic. And I stacked bracelets, a watch and some silly bandz of yester-year. See - I practice what I preach.

There’s no crying in high fashion.
HA. I feel ya buddy!
Helpful Hint:
Last summers' sleeper hit trend of "stacking" bracelets, watches and anything you can tie on your wrist has made a strong second showing this year. You'll see gold watches paired with friend bracelets and leather straps. You'll see bright, plastic watches stacked over metal bands and wooden bracelets. You'll see anything and everything. Here's your opportunity to take some chances and experiment. Your wrists haven't had this much fun since before that jerk kid out in Ohio cut his hand off with a slap bracelet ruining it for the rest of us...
After an unanounced, unplanned, self-imposed, month long hiatus from blogging (don't worry, no one else noticed either - it wasn't just you) - I am back :)
I took some time to figure shit out, get stuff in order and move forward. I didn't accomplish any of that but I did get this awesome photo of the Empire State Building for Pride.
A poet once said: "California knows how to party, in the city of LA." We think he was right, so we went ahead and crowned June "L.A. Month" on Of a Kind...

Men’s Wardrobe Staples - These are the things a guy should always have at his disposal. Like it or not.

Short Sleeve Woven Shirts -Thought the woven shirt trend had run out of steam? Assumed there was no where else the craze could be taken? Well, let me be the first to break it to you - you were wrong. This season, woven shirts have shed their excess fabric and are showing off their summer body - short sleeve. Don't fret - these are not your fathers' golf shirts with the short sleeves that point awkwardly up and out from your arms, making even the buffest body builders appear to have 'pipe cleaner' arms - no - designers have slimmed up the body and sleeves, creating a shirt that fits well AND keeps you cooler.
All of the patterns and fabrications you love in long sleeve shirts can now easily be found in short sleeve options. Oxfords, stripes, plaids, etc. - you name it - someone has it! Pair them with suiting shorts or a pair of your favorite jeans, throw on some plimsolls and you're ready for work, play or anything in between. The shirt pictured above is from J.Crew and goes for $62.50. Brooklyn Industries has amazing options for $68. Topman has pages of options starting as low as $48 and Gant Rugger has some perfect patterns for around $100. Pick your poison!
SPOT on!
If you've made the transition to lighter, summer suits, listen to GQ and switch over to cotton ties. You'll never look back.
What I Wore to Work Today: 'Color Blocking and Pizza' Edition - since it's been raining and humid for about 100 weeks now, I've had to inject pizazz (not to be confused with pizzas) into my outfits using rain jackets and water-proof bags. Trickier than it sounds...
Jacket: St. John's Bay Rain Jacket $20 - found this gem at a thrift store in Pittsburgh. These older jackets are always incredibly light and come in amazing colors - so search your neighborhood thrifts before dropping money on a new one.
Shirt: Ralph Lauren Oxford -Couldn't even tell you how old this shirt is, but oxford shirts are like wine - the older, the better. And when your outfit features "pop" color bags and/or jackets, keep the shirt simple.
Pants: Save Khaki Chino Pants $125 - again, SIMPLE. Just make sure they fit - opt for a straight leg fit. Peg them if necessary.
Shoes: Fred Perry Plimsolls $45 - if "rain shoes" won't match your outfit, wear old sneakers - you won't care if they get wet. These puppies used to be MUCH cleaner.
Bag: J.Crew Canvas Tote $59.50 - the neon "Ecto Cooler" stripe on this bag made it a must have for me - however, only after purchase did I notice how well the stripe on the bag played off of the stripe on this jacket. Fate I say. Don't be afraid to combine color "pops" or sport "competing stripes" - however, as with all trends in fashion - practice (some) moderation...
Oh - also... Pizza.
