Right foot halt.

It holds her weight as the ensemble of fruit makes way towards her. The fighter needs to create some distance for a weapon with a far range as hers in order to actively defend herself. Blake succeeded in making Pyrrha retreat, if only with a few steps backwards. Some were dodged, others fruits were smacked out of the way with the hardened loaf. That is to say, one apple did manage to hit her as it bounced off the baguette. It plopped on her collarbone before pillowing to the ground. 

A hit she might add, but thankfully, not fatal.

Pyrrha gets in stance once more, her set of movements mimicking Blake’s in both confidence and labor. From the looks of it Blake alternated her weapon. Very good. A competent hunter is always able to adapt. “Very well.” Pyrrha remarks, “I’ll be waiting for your move then, my fair lady.” It’s rare for Pyrrha to verbally partake in a taunt, she rather tease her opponents with moves in the battlefield rather than pick away at them with teeth and tongue.

It was sense of pride that flooded Blake as she saw a singular fruit collide with her chest. “So the untouchable can be hit!” she cheered herself on. Seeing as how her taunts failed at breaking the warrior’s tough shell, Blake decided to give up on them. Words will only get you so far, anyway.

Blake wasn’t opposed to be given the first chance to strike, it’ll be your downfall, Pyrrha. 

Smirk faded into a battle cry as the faunus took off in a sprint towards the other. Boots lifted off the ground as Blake launched herself into the air. With a grunt did her bread sword land on Pyrrha.

Noticing the other’s eyes search him for what he presumed to be his weapon he let his left hand hand fall to rest on the hilt of the sword at his waist. Which at first glance looked to be a normal Katana. Though the sheath included some sort of magazine and a trigger system.

“Onyx, a pleasure to meet you.” His hand would clasp hers in a firm but friendly handshake. “Perhaps we shall find ourselves opposite one another in the arena later.”

Amber eyes scanned the weapon at his waist and Blake was rather happy to see the Katana-like blade and gun system. Gambol was quite similar in a sense and her own bias slightly clouded her judgement. 

Her hand met his in a firm shake, a smile plastered across Blake’s features. “It’ll be an interesting fight for sure if we are,” she chuckled. “If not, though, I’d still love a friendly duel. I bet you really know your way around with that,” she nodded towards the weapon hanging from his side.”

“We won’ lose Kitten…This beast will be easy with the three of us…Though, the biggest thin’ Ah need tah warn Yah about—” he stopped in his tracks and turned his head to look Blake in the eyes. Red hues glowing. As his gaze met her own, a sound was heard on the air; whispers. As if there were other people around them. And yet nobody else was there.

“”This is a beast of the Plague…It’s infected, an’…Y’er aura won’ protect yah from the plague..Don’ let it touch yah, an’ don’ get any of it’s blood on yah…’er else y’er gonna be infected…An’ fixin’ tha’ won’ be very easy…” he slumped his shoudler slightly. “Well I mean…Ah can do it…But it’ll be painful.”

As they continue further into the forest, it feels like it’s getting darker, the sky above being eaten away by a mess of tree branches above. The only sounds heard were their foorsteps, the hooves of the large deer with them, and the gentle call of the cool wind..

“Not so much trackin’ it…But Ah…can feel it…We’re gettin’ closer..Be ready..”

Blake wasn’t too fond of how confident Takashi was in himself. She had learned firsthand what the  effects of too much pride were. Of course she knew her own capabilities but the faunus had yet to see how he or the other creature could handle themselves in a fight.

Cat ears firmly pressed against her head at Takashi’s warning. “My aura won’t protect me?” And you’re saying this’ll be an easy fight to win? Blake’s nerves became uneasy at the thought of having to take down a Beast without letting it even touch her. It was such a common rule of thumb that you’d be hit at least once in a battle--but this time, it’ll be certain death if it even touches me. Though Takashi said the wound was treatable, Blake was still doubtful of his skill. 

She gave up on asking him more questions, it seemed every answer Takashi gave only upset her more. Though, her curious side still wondered how he could feel its presence whilst they walked deeper into the forest. “Any plan?” Blake asked after a silence, “Or are we just ambushing it?”

“That’s kinda messed up, don’tcha think?” Leaving him in the dark. And she seems pretty amused by that.. But he leaves it be. Whatever they are.. he’s sure he can take them. Or at least he hopes he would be able to. “That y’er way of tellin’ me to just read about those things?” 

Blake rolled her eyes at the smart retort he gave. “Trust me, Eco, these aren’t anything you should want to see...” She then tapped her chin, thinking for a moment. If he was now so set on seeing Grimm, he’d find them with or without her.

“I’m all for you just reading about them but I’d rather be the one there with you if you decide to go seek them out. Do you really want to see a Grimm?”  At least Eco would be safer if he sought them out with Blake, an experienced fighter, on his side.
