Branding for the Horst P. Horst exhibition opened up my creative outlook on all round design. Looking at composition, colour, logo design, typefaces and typography. First of all i researched into that artist, on his influences and creative style as well as the museums current brand and designers who have worked for them. During the development of ideas i looked at the history of magazine design which was present at the time of Horst’s career, this influenced my use of serif typefaces, those similar to the type used in Vogue fashion magazine, to show some reason into the branding of the exhibition. Voor a font i found on DaFont had the fitted criteria for my type. It has a crisp clear design which includes curves and contrasted thickness. My colour palette includes white, grey, black, blues and peach which all in all forms a subtle but bold palette due to the contrast in the designs alongside the photography of Horst. My over all designs and layout were inspired by the art of DAIN a street artist who uses black and white photography and overlays alongside bright, powerful colour. And David Carson who uses creative typography layouts to create image with text.
The magazine design was overall successful. Its clear that my research and designer research corresponds with the branding. I am ahppy with the over all outcome, and think that the redesigning of the exhibition was a interesting and less predictable style.
