The funny thing about Pat being about to tell Alison Cap’s name is that he thinks they are ‘revising’, which means that he just thinks she knows what it is and she’s forgotten. And if you pair that with the bit in series 2 where Cap was about to give his report and casually drop in his own name, I can only come to the conclusion that the ghosts en masse assume at some point Alison has heard his name from someone else and none of them have bothered to check. Including Cap himself.
