My 7th @lego album cover is done. This one is for my manager @spottieottie82 who just celebrated her birthday. This album is one of her favorites, and includes the lyric "Never was a cornflake girl..." which is Taryn's most loved quote. HAPPY BIRTHDAY T-DIDDY! **** No. 7 has the same 2304 pieces as all the others, with everything single Lego logo faced upright. White, tan, reddish brown, pink, and 2 shades of grey colors used. I'm gonna try to do a few of these this year.

For my latest @lego piece, I had to bless one of my bestest friends ever Shalem. This was the first record he ever bought, and it definitely played a big role in our respective DJ DNAs. I couldn't wait to come back to my hometown to deliver this to him at his barbershop @thebarberykeene and get a fresh cut while at it. Thanks for all memories on Brook St in Keene, spending hours doing art, practicing our scratches, reading Thrasher magazine, and fighting rednecks. *** This is my 6th piece. 2304 pieces on front, every Lego logo correctly faced. 31 signature pieces on back. Yo! Microphone check 1,2 what is this? The 5 foot assassin with the ruffneck business! A Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory" may start with Excursions, but the album, and PHIFE, make their arrival on Buggin' Out. Right from the first licks of the upright bass we knew something special was coming. And Phife smashed us on the snare to let us know. In retrospect we all realize what a stepping out it was for our guy. He was us. The sports, the gear, bragging on chicks... Phife was every man. His loss was tough on me. I worked with Phife in small capacities since about '99 but my good friend @djrastaroot lost much more than all of us. Roots was Phife's manager, but more importantly his close friend. Roots really looked out for dude. When I saw the first sliver of Phife's passing hit Twitter, I didn't want to hit Roots cuz the pain was too much. We had just been txting about Phife's new music not even 2 days before. To honor Phife's legacy I knew I was gonna make this piece, but to honor their friendship I knew I was going to give it to Roots. Phife, we love and miss you. Roots, thank you for being a good friend to me, Malik, and anyone that crosses your path. On my next ATL trip I will hand deliver. Exit Lego Album No. 3 is complete. There's a story behind this one. Somewhere around '99/'00 me & @lesterbud really started to lock in as a tracking/mixing team. He'd often call me in during certain mix projects to help finish vocals. "Stankonia" is one of those projects. Leslie called me up and said "I'm over here at Stank mixing a bunch of Outkast. They still have vocals to do, you should come over." Fast forward 6mos and I remember watching the Grammys in the DARP kitchen when this album won Rap Album of The Year. It would be my first of several paper Grammys. No statues yet. To honor Leslie's grace in allowing me to work on so many projects as co-pilot I've decided to give this to him. I'll bring it when I'm in ATL next @lesterbud !!!!

For my latest installment of “Still Single, Obvious Reasons” I present to you Exit @Lego Album Cover 4, @jamie___xx “In Colour.” I wanted to do a non-portrait cover, and since this is one of my fav albums of the year with 2 of my top 10 fav songs of the year, it only made sense. While building it I reached out to @dreskull because I just mixed his dope remix to “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” and asked what he thought of it. He offered to pass it along to the Young Turks folks. I’ll bring it on my next NYC trip! I’m going to detail this build with additional pics later on my tumblr (exit1200) but for now, enjoy these 2335 of #FemaleKryptonite. 2304 on the front, and I glued my 31 piece signature to the back. If you don’t have the album yet, do yourself a favor and cop. Every time “Loud Places” comes on I need a moment.
