There are different ways to explore the world of EXIT. Give a round of applause for Team Alpha Mega Burrito! They’re the real winners at EXIT. The team played Division 37 on a prideful June 8th and escaped with 12 minutes and 3 seconds left on the clock. This team is not only successful, but special. This team won our DPX raffle and played the game for free! Their success isn’t all luck – it did take some skill and experience. The group, composed of the raffle winner’s friends and acquaintances, played 3 escape rooms together before encountering Division 37. Did these winners have any tips for new teams looking to play Division 37? They said to bring a smart person. We think that’s nonsense – they were all smart people! Their more reasonable advice was not to overthink the puzzles, and to only use hints when you are absolutely certain you are stuck. The team said they were going to roam the streets of Whyte Ave afterwards, we think it’s a perfect plan. The streets are currently decorated with rainbow colors and fabulous displays for the special Pride weekend so we think it’s nice that they will take it all in. Team name: Mom & Son Theme: Catacombs  Time left: 7:53  Congratulations to team Mom & Son for escaping Catacombs with only 8 minutes left! They told the EXIT staff that if they were stuck that they would set a time and if they couldn’t get the puzzle with in the time that would call for a hint. Smart move team Mom & Son! Catacombs is different from a lot of escape rooms that have seen, so they also told us that players should try not to get caught up in the room. EVERYDAY ESCAPE ARTISTS - The Friggers' Team name: The Friggers’ Date played: June 12, 2018 Time left: 2:34 Theme: Catacombs Congrats to the Friggers’ for completing our second hardest room! Two out of the three players were beginners, with only playing two games at most. For the other player, he was the game leader with completing 20 games! This group of friends suggest that you use your hints wisely by only using them when you have taken fifteen minutes or more on one puzzle. They also recommend reading the clues given carefully, take your time, and look everywhere. Here at EXIT Edmonton, we would agree with The Friggers’. It's time for this week's EVERYDAY ESCAPE ARTISTS from yer pals EXIT Edmonton Escape on Whyte - TEAM MERM!

Mom is flying back to New Brunswick tonight ☹ so team MERM took on one last escape room before her departure. After plentiful practice throughout the week, attempting our Medieval and Escaping from the Catacombs (both in one day), these bloodhounds sniffed out every corner and clue making a star-striking breakout from the CLINIC using only 38 minutes!! Despite the fact that these were the first ever rooms MERM has played together, they tackled the puzzles very efficiently. Fortunately, these escape artists generously walked us through their elaborate scheme. Here’s just a few tips from their expansive list:

“Spend 5 minutes to work up an idea for solving each puzzle. If nothing turns up, don’t waste anymore time and use a hint.”

“When one idea falls through, turn to a different suggestion. Come at the puzzle from all angles.”

“Don’t overlook or overthink your clues, the answer really isn’t that hard to find”

Thanks for all the great pointers! Team MERM carried their evening on with a victory barbeque and sadly, Mom went home that night… only to recharge and return for more glory!
