Grand Solgot and two unique specimens from his large menagerie. Two hybrids, both results of hybridization between polar broadheads and spotted reavers. while the practice is looked down upon, they're cared for very well. these hybrids are bred both for their beautiful golden spotted coats, but also due to how specialized broadheads are. the southern riverlands are no place for a cold dwelling species, so the broadhead reaver was created. these do not occur in the wild, and only a few exist in captivity.

Three Species of Cornupedia (Spur-Horses) entered by Mr.Prongcat04 for my 4th design event for Exoton

The Grave Horse is among the largest of the extant Bone Horses, named so by the native Takren peoples of the region due to its monochrome almost deathly appearance. They’re an elusive sight out on the moors and among the pillars of the Pillar Graveyard being nocturnal feeding and vocalizing to each other in surprisingly high pitched ghostly wails and whinnying. Grave Horses live in small family groups led by a lead stallion and his small harem of 2 to 6 females along with their young and other related males usually the stallions sons. To the Takren who live in the frigid moors and bogs, the Grave Horse is a sign of ill omen and death (another reasons why the name ‘Grave Horse’) and hunting and eat one is seen as strictly taboo.

One of the most abundant large herbivores of the Pillar Graveyard, the Crowned Lantern Horse is the largest member of the Lantern Horses, a linage of Bone Horse that have evolved a symbiotic relationship with a bioluminescent bacteria that live in a gelatinous bulb on top of their heads. The lights are used to communicate with other horses and distract predators by disorienting or blinding them with their biological headlights. The lights of the Crowned Lantern Horse shines a brilliant yellow and Takren of the Pillar Graveyard hunt these horses for their meat, the skulls (which make wonderful masks) and for the bacteria which can be made into a source of light with just a shake. The bacteria can be poured into membranes creating lanterns or be crafted into glowsticks for smaller light sources and are especially popular among Takren children.

The Graveyard Nosesinger is the most northerly dwelling Nosesinger Bone Horse, a linage of bizarre long legged Bone Horses with highly derived chambered nostrils used to create beautiful or eerie songs to communicate with each other over long distances. They live solitary lives in the bogs and moors of the Pillar Graveyard singing melancholic songs through their noses. Graveyard Nosesingers are most often heard not seen and are so elusive that a Takren may go for their entire lives and never see one in the flesh. The music these Bone Horses produce are highly intwined into their society and have fashioned flutes and horns to imitate the sad, mournful sounds they produce. These instruments are most commonly played during funerals.

the dark striped spirit is a juvenile male, while the white one hoisted up is an adult female. they were mother and son. spirits are notorious takren eaters, and as a result, takren have made it their mission to destroy nesting grounds, kill adults, and either kill or capture their young. in this instance, juveniles are sought after due to their soft and unique hide.

Takren hunters use bolas to trip and incapacitate spirits.

Spirits need a running start to take flight, giving a hunter the perfect opportunity to take one down. howling spirits nest along highland cliffsides. young takren scale these cliffsides and spook the family, usually causing the parents to defend while their young flees into the tall grass. since juveniles can't fly, they're taken out first, and in a panic, the adults attempt to flee as well. it is extremely dangerous. once a spirit is incapacitated and secured with rope, a hunter will plunge a boar spear into their air sac, killing them instantly. from these harvests come clothing, hide, meat and jewelry. hunting these animals is very expensive and usually reserved for wealthy individuals. in this piece, the hunter on the right is wearing a cape made from at least two juvenile spirit.

Fog blankets the pillar plains. A weary polar broadhead haphazardly drags his kill from the previous night back to his makeshift rubble den, made in the crevice of a petrified root tree. He pauses, mouth agape, expecting the scent of thieves circling near his pile. As he looks toward the sky, a colossal shadow engulfs the ground below. A hissing, guttural screech booms off the pillars as it crashes nearby. It whistles, whines, and writhes as it succumbs to its injuries and the effects of old age. The. broadhead slips behind rubble, hackles raised, catching wind that scavengers are high on the trail. Soon the mist stirs with hunger. Shapes creeping low, skittering, snarling, crowding the fallen giant. they tear, fight, and writhe atop still-living flesh as the spirit’s final whines echo thin and hollow.
