What colors would you say Rand Al'thor is?
I’ve not read Wheel of Time before, and I just made the inadvisable mistake of attempting to enter the wiki for it. WHOA. Lemme tell you. Deep rabbit hole. If he’s as justice-y and protagonist-y as he seems, he’s centrally white. It’s possible the dragon and fire stuff I saw could push him towards red-white, though more from a mechanical standpoint than a character one.

I value having control over things in my life and dislike abrupt change; I make decisions carefully and keeping my options open. I enjoy learning new things but I have poor self-discipline when it comes to concentrating. My mood regarding anything can change frequently, but I maintain friendly behavior in my social life. Socially I'm very liberal and economically moderate-somewhat, given that while I value individual freedom and the greater good. What are my colors?
My estimation would be blue-white, with either green or red in a secondary role. Almost anything regarding an orderly society is going to be pretty white-aligned, and the control / careful decision making sounds very blue. On the flip side, you could construe the dislike of abrupt change as green (as green dislikes changes in the status quo), while frequent mood changes would be more red.
This is an excellent time to return to Phrawger’s caveat that real people are most directly five color, with some colors more prominent than others. Only characters are actually, exclusively a few select colors.

I'd be interested in a take on the Myers Briggs regarding the color wheel. That said, I'm big Azula fanboy and a friend of mine and I have had little debates regarding her (I say Grixis she says Mardu).
The Myers-Briggs comparison is an interesting prompt, though probably something I’d write about in more detail than I would in your average Ask.
On Azula: unsurprisingly, red is prominent. Many Fire Nation characters line up neatly with red’s tendency towards strong emotions and rash reactions. Her powerful ambitions do put her very powerfully in black.
I actually can’t think of justification for her to be either blue or white in addition to Rakdos. She seems a little too rash and planning-averse to be blue, and too self-motivated (slash unstable) to be white. Her goals primarily are to gain power and to prove her worth to her father the Firelord.
What colour combination is Shrek?
I’m only being slightly facetious when I say Shrek is centrally green. At the start of the movie series, he’s comfortable with his status quo out in the swamp. Eventually, he moves out of his comfort zone and falls in love with Fiona, pushing him towards green-red. Finally, as he progresses to ruling the kingdom and looking out for its people, he’d be more green-red-white.
Many people would insert some Shrek meme here. I am not one of those people.
Would Sherlock from the BBC drama have a different colour identity to the one from the books?
Very likely. I’m a long-time fan of both the books and the BBC’s *Sherlock*, and the Benedict Cumberbatch version is significantly more rude. Both versions are assuredly, solidly, blue, given their pursuit of the truth and love of pure knowledge. I think the literary rendition is more white than the television one: in the books, Sherlock is prone to bouts of melancholy and is sometimes not personable, but is, on the whole, very upright and chivalrous. On the BCC, Sherlock is much less concerned with justice, caring more about his own pursuit of knowledge and edification than the good of the public. Literary Sherlock (LitLock?) does grow disenfranchised with the police towards the latter half of the series, to match Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s own feelings, but TVLock is maybe even more upset.
In conclusion, WordsAndPaperLock is more white-blue, while ScreensAndPixelsLock is more blue-black / white-blue-black. One might even argue a splash of red here and there for either.

I only just realized that I, too, have access to the Expedition Map Ask Box. So... apologies, I have no idea how long this question may have been idle here.
This vastly depends on what interpretation of Mario you want to go with. I think the most straightforward answer is white, potentially white-red. Mario’s actions are constantly focused on returning the Mushroom Kingdom (and outlying areas) to peaceful operation, usually by knocking Bowser back down a peg. Mario is also frequently motivated by love to rescue Princess Peach, which is why I might claim him to be white-red. If you take the love idea a step further, you could *possibly* argue that Mario is black-red, if saving the Kingdom is a goal only secondary to saving the love of his life. There’s little enough information about the character that you could argue a few angles.
I think everyone should have the freedom to do as they please. I love to learn, but only at a healthy pace, because I feel it leads to personal growth.. I am a naturally disorganized person, and I usually succumb to my emotions. I'm a very selfish person, unless it comes to my friends, for who I will willingly give up anything and everything. A quick note regarding color analysis of real people: every person who exists outside of fiction is five-color. Characters are designed with specific goals and a limited set of desires, but real people aren't limited in such a way, and have all sorts of motivations that exist in conflict with each other. When I make color analyses of real people, I'm acting on the slice of life that they've presented to me, either in asks (like yours!) or in their public lives (for stuff like celebrity asks). It is incomplete and you should not use character development schemes as a critique of your own character. Just wanted to clear the air on that.Now, with that in mind: what you've asked here leads me to believe that you are primarily green, secondarily white and black. Your first statement falls into a number of colors, except white. Knowledge seeking is typically blue BUT you tempered it and characterized it as a means of personal growth, both of which make it a green activity for you.Disorganization suggests instincts rather than intentional chaos, so I inferred that coupling your emotional state also fell into the instinctual side of green. Your next series of statements falls into an interesting category of the overlap between white and black: fervent care for the group, as long as that group is MINE. You are a people person but want to make sure that any new arrivals are conducive to the group. Color theory - how would you characterize Ulfric Stormcloak, of Skyrim fame?
Ulfric is primarily white, secondary in red.
Ulfric’s loyalties in the game lie entirely with his people (the Nords) and his city (Windhelm). The story takes great care to avoid characterizing him as a tyrant or vicious usurper. Instead, Ulfric is a careful tactician and great general, who does not issue costly attacks easily.
Ulfric clings to the old ways, worshiping Talos and taking a conservative stance on how Skyrim ought to be. Everything he does is for his country, and that’s white’s manifesto writ large.
But everything that Ulfric does is stained red with his pride and his ferocity. His brand of righteousness is strictly fury, and his motivation for freeing Skyrim comes from unbridled anger at the Imperial Legion.
He seeks to conquer Skyrim because he sees it as enslaved to a dying empire, and he doesn’t intend to replace one empire with another. Not only that, but Ulfric has a flair for the dramatic, and tries to make the end of the Dragonborn’s story as close to the old songs that he loves.

I believe in a strongly defined, clearly established societal order in which all people have relatively equal access to necessities and have equal social rights. I place importance, above all, on manners and etiquette, and view these as a means of garnering respect, which I feel is the most important commodity a person can possess, as all interactions in society hinge upon respect. I also believe that, at times, one must submit to a higher authority to advance themselves. What colors am I?
All of these traits sound mono-White to me. Society is at the core of White philosophy, and you've got that in every inch of this submission. You don't let it get bogged down in details like efficiency (Blue), power (Black), emotions/love (Red) or the natural order of things (Green). Everything you've just described is built on a constructed set of rules for etiquette, order, and respect for the purpose of creating an effective society. This is the pinnacle of mono-White behavior.
The only minor detail that might have altered the course is that you refer to submission to a higher authority. This is dipping into Black territory, but Black aspires to BE that higher authority, and that the authority is based solely on who can throw their weight around. You might dip into Black tendencies, but you seem far more concerned with working within the White structure.
COLOR THEORY
Hey guys, it's about time to get this blog up to speed. With that in mind, I'd like to introduce a segment on the blog that should run pretty regularly called COLOR THEORY! Here, I'll ask you all for some characters or traits that you'd like to have identified on the Color Pie, and I'll do my best to interpret their behavior in terms of the WUBRG system.
Example:
You: What color combination would Sherlock Holmes be, from the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories?
Me: Holmes in the original stories was unmistakably Blue; few would argue this. The trick is nailing down Holmes' secondary colors. He was incredibly focused with the particulars of his job to the exclusion of information regarding the natural world (including Heliocentric friggin' Theory), so Green is easily removed. Likewise, while Holmes occasionally indulged in an exclamation or two and clearly enjoyed his work, the emotive experiences behind his cases was not the driving factor; Red isn't a big part of his character.
Black and White, however, are mixed. Holmes was self-possessed and disregarded standard procedure to get the job done, but was meticulous and orderly in his work. One of the things that characterized Holmes very strongly in the original tales was a sense of societal norms and justice within the system, and Holmes was quite the gentleman when he wasn't showing off... but he did show off a LOT. He loved to explain his reasoning for things to get the edge on people in a conversation, and he loved to outrun people mentally just to watch them catch up.
My final verdict would have to be that Sherlock Holmes was primarily Blue, secondarily White, and tertiary Black. The sense of justice and gentlemanly nature were more core to Holmes' character than the show-offy flavoring.

After blearily stumbling through the backwoods of the Internet, you come upon a small thicket (and I don't use the word "thicket" lightly) with a campfire set up in the middle. A lightly grizzled young fellow pores over a yellowed piece of parchment before looking up. "Ah, you've made it!" he exclaims, shaking your hand with gusto. You have never met this person in your whole life. "Come, sit with me. You have traveled far, but don't worry. You won't have to travel alone. Not anymore."
He thrusts the parchment into your hands as you sit, and you can see it used to be a map. Now it's more of a map-that-was, more annotations than coherent diagrams and more overlaying ink than the original printing. It's unreadable, save for the title at the top: "The Multiverse".

Expedition Map is a brand-new blog intended to explore the Multiverse of Magic: The Gathering through creative writing and analysis of the lore of the first and best Trading Card Game.
