Here's me in my full armor for kendo! It's the funnest sport I've done and I can't wait to learn more!

On the 7th we eat 七草 (nanakusa) to celebrate spring!

This my 剣道制服 (kendo seifuku) or japanese sword fighter uniform, minus the 武具 (bugu) or armor. So excited!

Got a ゆかた (yukata)! It's a summer kimono. So fun!

My puppy got a haircut! Good thing, too, every day is at least 92 degrees and some days are over 80% humidity!

I love my new pet! He is a Kabutomuushi  or rhinoceros beetle.

Painted my toenails with my sister! Today I went to a baseball tournament! It was between my school and three others. It's called a Yonkouteki  - yon  means 4, kou is the final kanji in school, and teki I would assume is or is part of tournament. There were cameramen going around asking students about how they felt, so now I'm going to be on tv! Sadly it's a japan only brodcast, but I'll videotape it!

We are all so glad you and yours are OK after the earthquake. We've been reading a lot about it in the news. We all love you. - Pops and Grandma with Maddie, C and Grace

They're very small in miyazaki. I'm just sending prayers and good wishes to those who had very bad earthquakes!

My introductory speech is all nice and written! I'm very excited for tomorrow! By the way I didn't get new glasses, I just painted mine.

Today was very fun! I had my school orientation. I met all of my teachers and the principal.  They are all so nice! I have to give a 3 minute speech in front of the whole school (1,200 people) in Japanese. I'm very excited! This is  picture of my winter uniform.

I'll get pictures of everyone soon. We're all very busy! Tomorrow is my school orientation and then I start the next day. For clubs I'm thinking maybe swimming, maybe calligraphy. Sadly kendo is only for boys, so I can't do that, but I'm still very excited!
