I’ve had the Lelo Luna Pleasure Beads for about two years now and I would like to tell you all about them.
I wrote this post about them when I had just ordered them online a few years ago. You should read that first.
That post will clear up some of the obvious questions, but let’s go through the basics anyway.
The Lelo Luna Pleasure Beads are Ben Wa balls made by the upscale sex toy company, Lelo.

Do they make your vagina tighter?
What they do is tone your pelvic floor muscles, which are the muscles that control how tight your vagina feels. Those muscles also control the intensity of your orgasms.
So if you wear the balls on a regular basis (or take it to the next level and do kegals while wearing them), you will gain more control over those muscles. Your vagina will seem tighter if you had issues with looseness before. If your vagina was already tight, you will notice that you have more control over those muscles.
And regardless of how toned or not toned your pelvic floor muscles were beforehand, your orgasms will get stronger.
Yes. The basic idea is that you get to work your vagina out while receiving sexual pleasure. Whether you’re just doing normal stuff, intense physical activity or masturbating, everything feels awesome with the balls in.
Okay, now that we have all of that out of the way, let’s talk details.
This is the pretty box the balls come in.
You get four balls; two pink (both weighing 28 grams) and two blue (both weighing 37 grams). You also get a white connector so that you can use two balls at a time if you’d like and a little satin pouch to store the balls in.
Each ball is about an inch and a half in diameter. (I just realized I took this picture at a bad angle and it looks like it’s an inch and a quarter. *face palm* Sorry. I promise it’s an inch and a half.)
And if you decide to use the connector to use two balls at a time, the total length is about 3.25 inches.
Now lets discuss how the balls are meant to be used and why they are better than other sets of Ben Wa balls.
The fact that this set comes with four balls and has different weights is kind of ingenious. Other sets only come with two balls of the same weight that are either stuck together on a string or totally separate with no string at all (which scares me to no end, I’d feel like they were gonna get stuck inside me).
This set is graduated so you can work your way up in weight as you get better. The idea is that you would start with one pink ball, then one blue ball, two pink balls, one pink ball and one blue ball, and finally two blue balls.
Now, if you’re young and you don’t have kids and you have a medium to small sized vagina, you probably won’t need to start with the lighter weights. You might be able to skip straight to two blue balls.
But the graduating feature is really nice because a lot of women are older and have had kids or maybe just naturally have a larger vagina. And honestly, how are you supposed to know what size and weight you’re supposed to buy if you’ve never used Ben Wa balls before? If you accidentally bought balls that were too small in diameter or too heavy, they’d fall right out and you’d be SOL.
That’s why I think they’re so awesome.
But what about my personal experience with them, you ask?
I have a smaller than average vagina and sex can be painful sometimes. I wasn’t able to relax my muscles enough to allow a penis to enter without some pain and I wanted to fix that.
I no longer have issues with average sized penises. As long as I’m horny and wet, they slide right in without a problem.
I still have issues with above average sized penises. The balls aren’t magical lol. There’s only so much they can do.
How long did it take for me to notice a difference?
I never used the balls on a super regular basis, just a couple times a week when I feel like it or less. So I don’t know how quickly one might see results if they used the balls every day or every other day.
Also, I wasn’t having sex in those first few months of owning and using the balls. I didn’t have sex for the first time after using them for a number of months.
How is the size in diameter for me?
I always try to get sex toys that are only an inch and a quarter in diameter because that’s the most comfortable size for me. An inch in a half is uncomfortable for me and at first it was painful to insert the balls.
I just use a bunch of lube and take a deep breath and push the first ball in as I exhale. Then take another deep breath and repeat for the second ball.
It’s painful as the widest part of each ball slides past my opening, but once they pop inside and rest against my g-spot, I nearly cum. Every. Single. Time.
Once they’re inside it doesn’t hurt at all.
Taking them out is painful sometimes, but usually I’ve gotten so wet in the time that they were in that they slide right out, followed by a trail of wetness down by legs ;)
How is the weight of the balls for me?
Like I said, I have a smaller than average vagina so I didn’t have any issues keeping the balls inside.
In the first three uses I skipped right up to two blue balls and they stayed inside with no effort on my part.
If you’re older and/or you have kids and/or you have a larger vagina, you may have to put some effort into keeping the balls inside.
How long do I keep them in?
As long as they’re comfortable.
I would say keep them in for no less than 15 minutes at a time if you actually want them to work their magic.
And obviously I wouldn’t keep them in for absurdly long times because I’m pretty sure the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome applies to any foreign objects you keep in your vagina for an extended period of time.
I pretty much follow the tampon rule: 8 hours or overnight and then out first thing in the morning.
If I sleep with them in I wake up extremely wet and horny and have to masturbate before I can get up and moving.
If I wear them for a number of hours during the day, I get so horny that it actually becomes uncomfortable. I start to ache around my g-spot and vaginal opening and end up having to take them out and masturbate.
Using them generally results in masturbation lol.
What kinds of stuff do I do while I have them in?
Sometimes I just sit at my computer and blog. Sometimes I lay in bed and watch TV. Sometimes I cook and clean. Sometimes I work out. Sometimes I run errands. Sometimes I masturbate.
The more moving and physical activity I do while they’re in, the more quickly I get to the point where I’m aching and need release.
As far as being in public, you can’t really hear the balls rolling around inside you unless you walk hard or jump or something like that. And even then, it just sounds like something moving around in your pocket or bag. I seriously doubt anyone would call you out for having something in your vagina lol.
