Luzern, Bern & Aarau ☔️☀️

Luzern was first. Monica, Sarah, Britt and I ventured there. A shame it was raining but it was still breathtakingly beautiful. Bridges were made out of wood with flowers all over them and all roads were cobbles.

Bern was stunning too. Lea and Dommy came this time. Sandstone buildings, bears in the city, underground shops, Bern University (very different to Waikato). Theeen bought a coffee for $7 NZD. What is life.. At that price I was expecting something special, negatory 😢

Aarau was gorgeous too. We went up this radio tower and had the best panoramic view. It was such a beautiful day aswell, we could see so many different landscapes from one spot, unreal. To top the day off we went to a chocolate factory 😍 €8 for a tour and all you can eat chocolate. Choco train!! 🎉 Europe hint: They are all about their carbs and chocolate, oh goodie.

Raclet for dinner one night- grill cheese, bacon, onion and seasoning and pour it over potatoes. Wurst and Rosti the other night- sausage dish and shredded fried potato. Y U M M Y !!

Suisse run down 🎉🙌🏼

Breakfast in Europe is so much more fun than at home. They have everything set out for you, you name it it's there. Yoghurt, chocolate cereal (best part), fruit, bread, juices, cheese, offering coffee every 3 minutes. It's the best! The weather was beautiful and we had no worries in the world, it was PRIMO! I got a new phone, 64gb so breaking my shitty 16gb was a bit of a blessing 😁 Tried Frey chocolate and Rivella (pretty much their version of L&P) with the Swiss Alps in the background 😍 Best thing about this country-- the ratio of boys to girls in clubs is perfect for us chickas. Raining boys 🙈 However they did think we were English and kept saying "it's tea time" and "a tea a day keeps the doctor away" Like whatever is that haha My Fav Swiss German words (that I can't spell): Grutze-hello Ganau-exactly Bitzili-a little bit Ebe foal-I'm drunk Prost-cheers Brost-breast 👌🏼👌🏼 Sarah got us to buy this liquor called Passoa which is heaven on earth. Tastes like lollies 😋 On the topic of alcohol also tried ricard, not the nicest thing in the world. We were there for Fabiennes birthday as well. Amazing views of the river at their place and we had more delicious food and I've eaten my body weight in chocolate. Vundabar!

Switzerland 🇨🇭

Off to the airport 😁 Our train to Luton was late so then we were very behind schedule. Got to the check in desk where the lady (name tag said Baby… 😳🔫) said we had 2 minutes to get to our gate, so as everyone else probably would do we SPRINTED, we could not miss this flight. Got our tickets scanned, went through security, and if we weren’t in a rush already they decided to body search Sarah and I. Very uncomfortable moment, there were hands in very private places 😂 Sooooo after that intimate moment we carried on running… Hindsight: Probably shouldn’t of been running in an airport. Got to our gate (which was right at the other end of the airport, fair to say that is the most exercise I had done in awhile) and then, not even joking, waited 40 minutes to board the plane. 40 MINUTES!! F@*k you Baby, why is that even your name… Turns out when they say you have 2 minutes to get to the gate they just mean scan your ticket through 😡 Well didn’t we look stupid! So after sweating like a mother f'er we got on this private jet sized plane, seats 6 A, B & C. Pretty much went up into the sky and back down again, I love how we are so close to everything! Arrived in Basel and classic us walked into the French side of the airport, realized everything was in French and went back through to the Switzerland side. Fabienne and Manuel 😍 Such a lovely couple, so strange hearing Sarah speak such perfect Swiss German again. Not that we had any idea what they were talking about.. Side note, today my phone smashed on the floor in a supermarket and has impact damage.. 😢 However if you are going to smash your phone Switzerland would be the place to do it.. Turns out Manuel works for Apple, so probably couldn’t of broken my phone in a more ideal place.. Is that a new 64gb phone in my hand. Woooohoooo, it's for freeeee. Annnnyway we arrived at Sarah’s host parents house, she was freaking out! Monica opened the door and got the shock of her life. She was screaming, kissing and high giving Sarah and didn’t stop jumping up and down, it was the cutest ❤️ We had a feast that night (not my favourite kind of feast though 😉). We had wine, snacks, garlic bread, basil pesto pasta and an abundance of chocolate, all set out on this beautifully decorated table, it was like a wedding!! Sarah got to see Lea again 👍🏼 I L O V E S W I T Z E R L A N D !! 😍

London tourists ✌🏼️

You name it we did it, tower bridge, London eye (the views were amazing), a 4D movie about the London eye, Madame Tussaud’s- That was slightly creepy but cool. Had a picture with Zayn from 1D, probably should of got rid of him by now though.. A 4D movie of Madame Tussaud’s (they love their 4D movies here 😳), pub lunch with Britbound in Putney (mushy peas of course), MnM world… OMG in heaven!! 4 stories of chocolate, what more could you want 😍. Nickelodeon world, street performers in Soho, stumbled upon the entourage movie premiere red carpet (no celebrities yet though), Chinatown (little lamb takeaways everywhere) and theeeeen HOME (well our hostel, so technically our home).

Met Ben at Clapham Junction to make the deal… Give him all our luggage 😂 Lachie was with him in this van type car. Us three had to pile in to the back along with our bags which was an adventure. It was so bumpy (I have a sneaky suspicion Ben wasn’t avoiding the pot holes) and we were flying all over the show. Then decided to hire bikes and look around the Richmond area. Richmond park was amazing, it was huge and there were deer just roaming around. Got to the pub on the top of the hill called the Roebuck and parked up. Got some cider and crisps and chilled there for an hour or two.. Such a nice day before we set off to E U R O P E!! 😁 See ya Ben and Lachie, catch you guys in a month 👯✌🏼️

Benny Boy 🐮

Can’t wait to see this guy’s face! A bit of home over here in London. Day started off well, changed hostels, I got stuck on the tube.. See ya B&S, saw a guy completely soaking wet but acting like he wasn’t, girls bought cute books, and then Ben arrived. Gave him the biggest hug, so good to see that little guy 😍 Explored Oxford street, helped Ben get some new threads, beers and nachos for lunch (typical London meal it seems), then went to Bens pad in Wandsworth for wine and curry night. Chatted for hours and finally had a chance to relax. Seeing a familiar face on the other side of the world is an awesome feeling! Aw bless two fresh 18 yr olds behind us on the bus singing lyrics like fucking our mothers and eating our butts. Thanks guys, next time just say we have pretty eyes 😁 Tip: Don’t get into a London black cab and say “thanks for the ride, your our first black cab driver” to an African cab driver, he definately took it the wrong way, oopsies!

Day 2 with Benjamin. Hitting up Hyde park for a few beers and bacon crisps. Met his mates Keegan and Solei. Chilled in the park for ages and then headed to Victoria to a pub called Shakespeare’s. Which by far has the best nachos I have ever tasted 😋 It’s official, Ben Good has tried almost all nachos in London at this rate..

Britbound

Pretty much our travel angels.. Would recommend to anyone wanting to do the UK thing. So we arrived for an introduction and getting to know everyone session and the first thing they give us are lollies and a cider… (best combo ever). Also found out that you can drink on the streets today and no one can judge you, well they can but its LEGAL. Things are going to get weeeeird. Met some other kiwis, Aussies and a Canadian. Went to this pub called eight bells and got to know each other. Do we have some friends?? I think so 👍🏼 Tip: Don’t ever trust the bartender when he says gin, tonic and bitters (a pink gin) would be nice… It’s totally not!

Funniest thing of the night though was when Britt tried to use her hostel room card to pay for the bus, might of had a few too many drinks. But who wouldn’t when I can walk and drink. #winning #yeaimbringingitback.

Just touched down in London Town 🇬🇧

We made it!! However we did not anticipate the walk to the hostel what’s so ever. Bags on bags.. We were definitely on struggle street, like way up the far end of the street, struggling. Next time maybe taxi? Found the right tube line, minded the gap (is there a past tense for that word…hmm) and got to Hammersmith. But it wasn’t as easy as that. We went up and down the Main Street looking for this hostel and 15 minutes later we realized it was right in front of us the entire time. Traveling tip: Always look up and read signs. Google does not know everything!

So nice to be lying down on a bed after over 40 hours on a plane and walking around London. It is heaven on earth to put it simply 🙏🏼

Already met two people. One German guy who reminded me of Homer from the Simpsons and another guy who claimed he did the special effects for the movie Theory of everything (which I had just watched on the way over), when in fact he was just the runner. Not sure why he would let us in on his lie… But ok. What characters they were, just makes me think who else we will meet along the way 😁✌🏼️

In flight mode

Well first things first, if you haven’t come to terms with leaving your family, bf and life for 2 years, DO NOT get on a plane. From experience, having a panic attack thousands of feet in the air is not ideal, especially when they just served dinner. Those seats are close together as they are let alone with Sarah and Britts meals in front of them. Safe to say Sarah was very lucky not to get my dinner all over her.. 😷 I was feeling bleak.

Random thoughts/tips: I might call my kid Melbourne or Adelaide, Mel or Ada for short. Sarah said flying at night is her fav because she can’t see anything… Ok Sarah. Airport wifi doesn’t usually last longer than 30 mins. Cinderella movie taught me to be brave and kind… Wise words Disney!

DUBAI.. Fuck it’s hot. Is it like this all the time, is the airport always this busy, will I always have to sit on a children charity box next to a rubbish bin? Airborne again. Did anyone else know you get wifi in A PLANE??? #seriousladsontour. I was making status’s left right and centre. Checking into 3 different countries the space of an hour… Mind blown!

Plane tip: Bring a shitload of vitamins, any kind. Face wipes and your usb cord to charge your phone, they have the ports.

Officially the most up and down plane trip of my life. I guess 35 hours would entail a lot of different emotions and occurrences. Bloody brill #almostthere

Today is the day... For months I was holding out for that first Wednesday of June 2015, buuuut now it's today and I don’t know how to feel. Seeing Britt and Sarah before the airport made it more exciting than sad, but also kind of anxious since we are leaving in 10 minutes and Sarah is still in her pjs… Classic! Made it to the airport with tears already. Finally coming to terms with the fact I may not see my family for 2 years. Lachie will be 18, gross... And Bay will probably be married 😂 But seriously this is weird and very very emotional… Can’t go back now though and everyone always says home will always be home. ‘See the world, come back for love’ ❤️
