Hi! I'm Rue! I'm a theme park enthusiast and amateur historian mostly obsessed with my home park of Wahoo World Inkopolis Bay, and it's sister park Wahoo World Anarchy Bay! I also play casual turf and anarchy on the side in my free time, so every now and then you may get a story about that!

Right now I am currently living in Splatsville and working as a ride op at Wahoo World Anarchy Bay, but I've actually worked in both parks.

Favorite job at the park is being a ride op on the Wahoo Wave Breaker (the big coaster)

Originally from Inkopolis, and misses home a lot

Recovering from a really bad burn on one of her arms, usually wears a compression sleeve over it to help with the healing, was recently told that she messed up her recovery and cannot go into swim form without risk of becoming permanently stuck.

Former engineering student, kind of flunked out kind of dropped out due to her accident

Loves engineering, and studying the engineering from other cultures, and just an over all fan of robots as well

Explosher Main, Casual turf and ranked player, should not be playing any matches right now, learned the hard way why she shouldn't and now has to figure how to keep playing without going swim form, and is looking to mod at least one of her Exploshers

Used to be an alternate on a friends league team, is hoping to either heal enough to play in normal TWA games again one day, or find another way to play with them

A Squid Sisters die hard, but enjoys seeing indie, and upcoming bands with her friend, and fond of Omega 3's music

They are both great songs but love version 1 better personally. I think my friend put it best; number 1 is the version you would hear at a haunted house type event, and number 2 is one you would hear at a club. And I'm here for the spooks

so with the big run happening at wahoo world in less than 2 weeks, many people looking to leave grizzco will likely find themselves unable to break out of their contracts in time of the run itself. here's some tips from your local union rep to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of your fellow laborers and of the migrating salmonids:

if you aren't employed at all and see all those openings the weekend of big run, do NOT be tempted by any promises of a high pay grade. new employees are always paid the lowest wages that the company can get away with, and if you sign up as a temp worker they'll almost always worm their way of paying you entirely and claim your shifts as being an unpaid internship

grizzco recruiters target inkfish fresh out of school who aren't familiar with regulatory standards and practices for jobs involving manual labor and don't know their rights as workers. check in with your local chapter of the industrial woomies of the world and they can bring you up to speed on whatever you need to know about your rights

if you are employed at a workplace that was acquired in a grizzco buyout and were grandfathered into the company, double-check the terms your contract. don't let upper management pressure you into big run participation if your contract exempts you from doing salmon runs, despite any claims of it being "mandatory" work

call in sick if you're feeling unwell the day before, even if you know you aren't contagious. grizzco might not pay you sick leave, but they're still obligated to give you that time off. contact the union if you're refused time off and they'll back you up and help you deal with management

never go more than 2 hours on the job without taking a break. make it a minimum of 15 minutes, and make sure you drink some water and have something to eat in the meantime

keep your eye out for the pathways salmonids are taking on land, and make sure nobody crowds around the places where they're surfacing from the water

ink storms can reduce visibility for everybody, not just workers. redirect any drizzler projectiles towards the sky above the ocean so they don't accidentally hit any salmonids on land

if there's a slammin lid out on the field, make sure any workers and salmonids on the ground stay out of its crash radius

don't go out of your way to go past quota. the only reward a hard worker gets is more work

always ask for consent before kissing your coworkers on the job

the bulk of the mass salmonid migration is passing through the um'ami region of the splatlands desert this coming weekend, so if you've been conscripted into big run participation at the ruins and you aren't feeling well in any way, now is the time to call in sick. some more advice specific to this run:

make sure your unit is in contact with the um'ami ruins research team and knows the restricted dig zones of wherever you're deployed at. keep other workers and migrating salmonids well away from these dig zones to minimize damage to the ruins and fragile objects that haven't been completely dug out yet

be especially mindful of where you redirect drizzler rounds while you're out on the field. make sure you don't aim them towards the cliffs or structures surrounding the ruins

this one is quite a doozy so it gets a whole paragraph instead of single a bullet point. the evangelical organization run by the founder of hobby cubby has a history of taking items and artifacts smuggled from legitimate archeological sites for their museum of madai to propagate ahistorical conspiracy theories (young earth creationism; humans and dinosaurs living alongside terrestrial fish, arthropods, and molluscs; 7-rings doomsday, etc.) and using their funds to spread anti-salmonid sentiment in general. they are no longer authorized to do archaeological work anywhere within the um'ami region of the splatlands desert and haven't been for at least half a decade at this point. back in 2023 ME they were caught smuggling artifacts out of the um'ami ruins once again, using the big run then as a cover to send in their own people in salmon runner uniforms from along with bribing workers being sent to the area to smuggle artifacts for them. it's suspected that they're going to try this again this time around and will be doubling down on targeting salmon running organizations that are lax on internal regulations such as grizzco, due to their success in staying under the radar with them. don't let these guys through, don't accept their bribes, know who you're working with, make sure your unit sticks together on the field and don't let anybody wander off into restricted dig sites

Ended up going on a small trip with my friends league team recently (just after splatfest) and while travelling the anarchy bay/yokosuka peninsula area in one of the towns we found a hacked version of squid beats with custom tracks on it.

I then watched as Grim drank two tacticooler sodas and played all the new songs in one sitting (standing?) with pretty decent scores on all of them

Ended up going home to Inkopolis for this splatfest as the team all wanted to catch the concerts there, so while they have been playing matches I actually headed over to the Inkopolis Bay park to visit the home park.

But hey!! If you are playing a match at Wahoo World or you choose to visit one of the parks for their special splatfest hours, be sure to notice some of the special light cycles on the flat rides and especially the Skywheel and Wahoo Wavebreaker!

Roller coaster and ride enthusiasts often debate about ride quality and especially ride smoothness, a I know the Wahoo Wavebreakers are definitely up there on peoples lists in quality (Anarchy bay being higher that Inkopolis bay simply due to the age of the track at Inkopolis bay) but honestly not me.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good coaster, and love the Wavebreakers, but nothing can beat the feeling of being thrown and thrashed around just a little y'know? I think sometimes smoothness is a little overrated. Maybe I want to experience what it's like to be a single sneaker in a washing machine, and rides that are just too smooth and too top quality are just.. boring.. idk maybe this is just me and I'm the freak out here, but c'mon I'm out here for the thrill!! Throw me around a little bit!! Make it memorable at least!!

Another Splatfest, and even if I can't technically participate normally, I'm still choosing team Air Travel. (I think my friend and most of the team I used to sub for are choosing the same so it works out)

But there's reason I love working the Wahoo Wavebreakers so much, at both parks! Riding those things it feels like flying! And not like in a plane and chopper, but almost as if you were a super fast bird and the power of flight was your own, I can never get enough of that.... And super jumping doesn't count (plus I can't even do that anymore haha, at least not for a very very long time so)

I guess my reasoning is kinda similar to the UFO person, love my roller coasters, and will always choose them every time. (I was team Theme Park in case you haven't guessed)
