March 19, 2021 • I have so much work to do for my internship, but I’m taking a few minutes for myself to enjoy the sunshine.
Giorgio Morandi: Landscapes
Morandi’s landscapes were a regular fixture in his oeuvre. Progressively more abstract, these works often get overshadowed by his more well known still-life paintings. His flattening of space, brush-play and paint application all were given more room to expand and experiment with. Moving from early more observational compositions to gestural movements of shapes and earthen hues. He apparently used a view finder to aide in his composition. He returned again and again to the same landscapes in the 47 kilometers between his home and studio in Fondazza, Bologna, and Grizzana where his family vacation home was located. Grizzana is now referred to Grizzana Morandi to recognize Morandi’s reverence of its landscape.

hello
I think I’m going to give tumblr a second chance, it’s been a while. I started my account a loooong time ago, and fell out of love with using it when I started college. This is around the time that tumblr started censoring NSFW posts and artwork.
My profile says that I’m 20 but I’m 25 now and live in Spain. I’m an EFL teacher and artist. I still love coffee, music, and food.
I’m pretty blown away that it’s still active. I’ve logged on sporadically over the last few years. I don’t even know if anyone who used to follow me is still on here but if you are, hi!! I’m going to be reblogging more about art and illustration so if that’s what you’re still interested in, keep on following.

Obsessed with this. Have seen so many apartments with elements of 90s design still there
please god give me this
I'm reblogging some older stuff. I can't believe I've been on Tumblr for 7 years
“And I’ll only feel smaller and smaller” 36x48x2” ink on cradled clayboard 2013 for “SPACE: The Gallery Show” at Gallery1988 West (sold) railways are, at their core, a series of paths between very very distant places. the signal alerts you if two paths are soon to cross. the viewer is moving backwards into the darkness, watching the universe get larger and larger, feeling smaller and smaller themselves. all while recognizing the potential of crossing anothers path, but the signal isnt lit for now. its some kind of goofball metaphor for “hey, theres life out there. we just gotta keep moving in a direction ourselves.”
