People have really forgotten that yandere is literally a horror trope. No I don't want a "green flag yandere" I want an endless pit of dread in my stomach and also a sense of arousal that shouldn't be there
You youths have forgotten the original tomes
alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:
1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..
2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.
at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.
i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READâŒïž
and to every author reading this, this community values your work and your contribution. we love u and, please, never let anyone's negative words have an effect on you.
hate how the internet turned EVERYTHING into a competition. your room doesn't have to be prettier. your art doesn't have to get more likes. your interests don't have to be more obscure. you don't need more followers...
can we all just exist and have fun,, please...
Stop letting other people tell you who you are.

"You have no power over me." "Yet you're still here. Yeah, keep telling yourself that.
"You expect me to... to..." "I don't expect you to stutter about it. Hurry up."
âYou should be grateful I allow you to serve me.â

free things you can do at home to start feeling more girly
people say that beauty costs money. there is some truth to that, but the most important changes we make to feel more girly all start for free. it is a mindset that is cultivated - not purchased. đ
fashion & beauty
home manicure â trim & file nails, paint colour
dress nicely even when youâre sitting at home â you donât feel girly when you feel like a slob.
experiment with make up â try out new tutorials when you have no where to go
play in your wardrobe â experiment by mix & matching your clothing & accessories to find new outfits
study to become inspired â study fashion, movies, art, history and whatever else you want online to find new inspirations and role models for you to incorporate into your style
lifestyle
start exercising â we all hate this advice but it truly makes the biggest difference to your mood, body and feeling girly. do free pilates or yoga videos from youtube. you donât even need shoes, or a mat if you donât have one.
take a beauty bath (ideally with bubbles and music playing) â if you donât have a tub, then a beauty shower where you take your time and listen to music is also really effective.
drink more water â every cell in your body requires adequate hydration to function so donât starve yourself of precious water!! this is a requirement for glowing skin.
dancing â put on music, dance in your bedroom. moving your body frees up restraints that you subconsciously put on yourself and can help you feel more girly.
reading â ditch the scrolling and just start reading. read what? whatever you want, it all counts. you donât need to buy anything new - read books you already have, articles on substack, or borrow e-books to your phone from a public library. spending time reading calms your brain down and lets you readjust.
environment
clean your house â there is a difference between a âgirl messâ of some clothes on the floor and actually dirty. youâre never going to feel cute and girly with a sink full of dishes and crumbs in your sheets.
redecorate your digital spaces â maybe itâs not possible to decorate your outer environment right now, but redecorating your digital spaces, like your phone and computer, is free and can give you fresh girly inspiration.
swap out your media â consider what makes you feel girly and thoughtfully curate the types of content and media that you are putting into your mind. surrounding yourself with girly energy will make you feel more girly.
change your music -> music affects your mood so intentionally choose music that supports the way you want to feel. create playlists to be the soundtrack to the movie of your girly life. donât put on sad heartbroken music and expect to feel like a queen!
mindset
appreciate yourself in the mirror â most people have a negative self image and you can begin to repair your own by paying yourself compliments. it feels cringe at first but the more you do it, the more beautiful you begin to feel.
journal â how do you become your own dream girl if you donât even know who she is? write about her, discover who it is that you actually want to be.
if you want to become a more girly, cute, feminine version of yourself then there is no one stopping you other than you. while having a huge budget can buy us a new wardrobe and lots of lovely things, the most important changes we make to feel more girly all start for free. your new dream girl life is bought with your mindset, not your wallet. just aim to make small changes one by one and work towards becoming your dream girl over time.
in the words of Dita Von Teese: âbeauty, glamour, even luxury need not be determined by oneâs bank accountâ. â„
cheers to us all becoming dream girls đ
Habits, thoughts, and identity
We need to get real about our actual habits in order to live the life we dream about. Our current thoughts shape our actions, which build habits, and over time become your identity. We all label ourselves based on these tiny actions we take over and over each day. A habit of not giving yourself enough time becomes you're the person who's always late. A habit of leaving your messes for the future becomes you're the Type B friend who can never stay organized. A habit of not washing your face means you're acne-prone (not anything against acne, but please, wash your face). These labels shape how you view yourself, and more importantly, how you talk to yourself and what you believe to be true about yourself.
This seemingly simple concept is often overlooked when it comes to conversations about starting new habits. We cannot change what we are doing if we a) don't understand our current situation and habits and b) don't reflect on our self-concept. Our habits form our ideas about our potential; what we believe about ourselves is critical to understanding our self-worth and leveling up our lives. If you believe yourself to be a tardy person, you never allow yourself to change your habit of leaving the house late. If you believe yourself to be unorganized, you won't be successful in keeping your room clean. The underlying beliefs in our psyche are so powerful; they subconsciously define what we can and cannot do.
So, how do we actually change our behavior and habits?
Start with naming the negative traits you apply to yourself. Maybe it's lazy, undisciplined, tardy, unorganized, or something else entirely. Make a physical list. Write them down.
Then reflect on your day-to-day habits that reflect those traits. "I call myself lazy because I doom scroll for 4 hours instead of doing homework." (Been there.) "I call myself unorganized because my room is always messy." etc.
Next, begin questioning the labels and beliefs you have about yourself. "Am I really defined by X habit, or am I making excuses to remain in my comfort zone?" Most of the time, you want to stay in your comfort zone.
Find friction in your daily routine. Define when and where you want your new habits to take place, and feel the tension of wanting to do what you're comfortable with and choosing otherwise. Lean into it; real growth happens outside your comfort zone.'
Congratulations, you have the framework for building new habits! Start small, simply reframing your thoughts about yourself when you notice them. This will help construct your identity around the person you want to be, not the version of you defined by stagnation and plateaus. Changing your self-talk to be aligned with your values and who you actually dream of becoming is the most important step in chasing that dream life. Keep leveling up!
xx
